“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.
The story behind this song:
The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that has composed the song, without the singer, Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died after a heart attack!
The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part that he added with an oriental technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the singer.
The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer has left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015. The lyrics have been written by the poet Ilia Reznik along with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, which you can see in the video accompanying to Dimash.

This balance between light and dark in his voice is called "chiaroscuro". It's often referring to the paintings, but can be used in other terms of art.

Loved your reaction--you're hilarious! I also appreciate your professional vocal analysis. I am a voice teacher, choir director, soloist, etc. so your comments definitely speak to me. Did you notice Dimash's newest vocal technique, the Middle Eastern microtonal trill at the beginning of his long run? When I listen to him I am in a constant state of chills and breathlessness. I'm from Romania ,i live in Bucharest,i am 60 years old, and this young MAN he gave me the scale of values ''over the head'' few performers shocked me e.g :JANIS JOPLIN, CELIN DION, MICHAEL JACKSON ,SIA , MICHAEL FLATLEY (dancer) and a few other as well . Dimash Kudaibergenov for it is about him, has appeared out of nowhere and he hit my violentley in all senses with an explosion of :emotion, talent, depth ,virtuosity , gentleness. The fact that he shook all my senses is incredible, is MEGAperfect .I've watched your fans andisaw that they feel the same as me. What can i say ,he is a ''complete package''of (and i repeat myself) :emotion,talent ,music, virtuosity ,depth, gentleness, all in a great explosion . It's as if he is from another world. Excuse me that i do not know how to write correctly in English , but i still understood samething. Here i end hugging all the Dimash fans ,thousands kisses.

This Dimash's perfomance is incredible. I think he showed all types & various of voices. He's voice really sweet & another hand so dark, deep. I can't describe his voice. But no doubt- HE IS VERY TALLENTED YOUNG GUY.
It was cover version of mysic band 'A - studio' based in Kazakhstan (now in Russia). It was like a benefis event of that band.

I heard the original version...it was just a simple song but it's like real... The writer is yearning for that woman.. It's an amazing band A-studio. Just checked their discography on spotify 💖 i just wonder what made Dimash sing this song, i bet this is not a hit song in his country, correct me if im mistaken. Hhmm.. I don't agree with the fact that this song wasn't a hit in the homeland of Dimash. At one time this song was very popular and did not seem very simple. Yes, the author has put a lot of feelings into words.

I would be jumping up and down screaming!! I have been watching this over and over again. Unless I'm mistaken, that is a new recorded low at 1:30 (C2). I'm still not sure what to call that phrase at 3:38.. supernatural reverb? And that EPIC slide into that 22 second belt phrase, those runs.... My mind is still blown after about 40 viewings and it just gets worse. haha

Hello ... Rebecca ... Here in Brazil we also accompany this amazing interpreter! I had the first contact with this phenomenon of the voice (Dimash) when I saw your reaction to the video "SOS". From that moment on, I try to see and "savor" all of your presentations. I must confess that it is very difficult to hold back the tears! Not because of sadness, but because of happiness in having the privilege of hearing such a WONDERFUL voice ... Excellent professional reaction! Dimash's vocal dexterity is a once in a lifetime experience. Here, he goes from an Arabic type of Ululation (aka as Zaghareet), then somehow reached the Mount Everest of the song before tumbling downward without faltering in a 25 second vocal run without taking a single breath!!! We are blessed to behold this wonder of the world...
