The sport of curling is known as "chess on ice." Cheryl Bernard and John Morris, Canadian Silver and Gold medal winners, teach us how to play. #olympics

I've always loved the Olympics, and curling quickly became my favorite Winter Olympic event when I first watched it during the Nagano games. I've had a few opportunities to try curling which has only increased my interest and appreciation for the sport and its athletes.
I can't wait to watch as much curling as I can during the upcoming Games!

    omg Cheryl...
I wish they had a better cameraman though. There were some serious defocus issues going on.
But nonetheless. I've been waiting for something like that all the time from actual pros. Nice explanations. Fun to watch.

dvader - There are plenty of curling clubs out there. Especially if you live in one of the northern states. Check out USA Curling. They have a club finder on their website to help you find a club near you.
Some clubs have real curling sheets, others curl on hockey ice, either way, you should have a lot if fun!

Why is there a "house" on each extreme of the sheet , and not only in the scoring side?

Fernando Martínez Nájera You alternate throwing rocks to each side, more for saving time.

You need a lot of focus to play the game... that camera operator could learn a lot.

Laverna Phifer The ice is pebbled. The brooms smooth out a path and heat up the ice. It helps to direct the rock and give it more speed when necessary.

The introduction where they congratulate themselves on their hotness is pretty sad.
