Anything Christopher Judge is involved in would be well worth it. His idea of a Jaffa spinoff sounds great. Thanks for the video.
Stargate doesn't need a reboot, but additional stories like Christopher Judge pitched could be incredible, imo. Most things Christopher Judge touch turn to gold, so I would definitely be hyped to see him play Teal'c again
I agree scrapping the whole story would feel like such a waste
Jaffa Kree!
Is filmed before a live studio audience.....
IF any new shows are done, I hope they can do it without big networks ruining it, and I hope they keep the high quality design (visual decor, motifs, symbols, etc) & music, as those things, along with the original actors, writers, & producers being involved are what makes Stargate what it is. RIP Holger Gross
I didn't even know about "Stargate Command" until after it was gone. What it needed was advertisement. Stargate isn't suffering from not being good enough to make money. It's suffering from not getting a real chance of making money.
I don't think advertising would have saved it. One franchise is not enough to carry an entire streaming service and the cost of subscription.
I want a Teal'c baking show called Jaffa cake
i both hate and love you.
Jaffa.. cream!
Indeed. ;)
Coming straight off the pel’tak
@@goobieaus we on about jaffa ass here as in cake is other word for ass 😂
I feel like this is just going to end up on the back burner forever like Michael Dorn's hopes for a Captain Worf show have been so far for all these years.
Would absolutely watch that.
Would really love to see them explore the origins of the Jaffa race and their culture
especially how they were actually made into carriers for the Goa'uld.
I don’t want the origin, I want more from where we left
@@twilightgardenspresentatio6384 That would be amazing as well. 😀
@@twilightgardenspresentatio6384 Why not both
I mean we know the origin, they were taken from Earth and now living on other planets as servants of the System Lords.
The jaffa where incubators for the Goa'uld so saying that the jaffa r free from any and all Goa'uld is only true till the jaffa's Goa'uld becomes full mature then the Goa'uld would take over.
The only way the jaffa would truly b free is if they where all on tretonen(the stuff tealc takes).
Would love to see a series on building the aliance of the 4 great races.
Asgard
Knox
Ancients
And finally meet Furlings.
I feel like furlings are big ewoks
@@silenttitan416 My guess is they are elephant sized lion like creatures.
That or an alien equivalent to tasmanian devils (the cartoon variant).
Furlings are the ghostly giants that Daniel's crazy grandfather went with. The only logical choice.
@PaulCoyJR nah, maybe they're the weird aliens that took everyone off of Prometheus that time. They seemed to be superior to the goa'uld
Christopher judge
and Michael Dorn two of the best sci-fi actors who play my favorite sci fi characters
Stargate was not just about if humans could be similar to the gods, it was about what kind of gods we would become, it was a warning, about arrogance, racism, injustice, not only having the evil gods defeated, but showing the Jaffa themselve in danger of becoming like them, it was not only about technology evolving, but about us evolving, spiritual evolution, ascension, the entire hippie thing, more empathy, intuition and understanding of universal oneness
*Thanks Dave for your input on the GateWorld channel.* ❤ 😊
I'm game for more Stargate, especially lore expander. I've always felt that there was more from Stargate that could be told and shared. It would be wonderful for a revival that keeps the stories and the feel of the show originality, while bringing it a bit more forward in times and our newer updated technology.
It's unfortunately been a million years since SG-1 ended.
*NAILED THIS‼️* ❤ 😊
What's a million years when you have access to a Stargate. Time is relative.
Judge should play a 1200yr old Jaffa who remembers how it was and wants change in how it’s going
Jaffa don't live that long.
Thank you❤
This is nice :) Good video!
Still one of the best tv series ever made. Shocked they did not try to milk it yet
The Jaffa are in a situation unlike Wakonda and much like many peoples if the Earth. They were heavily controlled and then free. That is VERY interesting.
I always thought that a great show for a spin off would have been based with Humans from an entirely different planet, run one season all by itself. This allows you to build up the characters and establish their planets history which could be anything that they wanted it to be.
It doesn't have to follow our own planets history exactly, and it should not. The second season has their version of SG-1 run into one of our off world teams on a planet. That would also allow cameos from the shows characters without being weird.
And if you base the above story on the content of this video, they could easily encounter the Free Jaffa Nation out there, perhaps even before they encounter the people of Earth.
i'm writing a series of novels about Stargate because I've realized that stargate won't be coming back soon.... gonna get some dudes to do the artwork and make designs for ships. It deals with Daniel Jackson's replacement on SG1 named Amos King after Daniel gets promoted in Homeworld Command and moves to DC. Amos goes on a mission with Daniel and General Samantha Carter on the Hammond where they find an ancient time traveling device left by Janus on an old Asgard planet in Ida. Things go sideways and the Hammond blows up with Daniel and Sam on the ship; but not before Daniel beams Amos down to the planet with the Ancient device. Amos dials home but something amazing happens. He walks through the gate and he's back on Othalla in the year 2000. He then sets out working to, save the Asgard, save Daniel and Sam, and reinvent the entire Stargate Universe by fixing the timeline and preventing everything that went wrong. The first novel is called Stargate The Ascendants-- Rise of the Lantean Commonwealth. The second novel is called Stargate The Descendent. The last one is called Stargate the Accident.
I'm thinking about printing a bunch out and mailing it too the writers and directors. Not so they will publish it, but to piss them off for not making anymore stargate : )
This would have been the perfect spin off. Being both entirely contained and throwbacks
Bring the stargate back😢😢😢
Yes!!!!! And bring in the KNOX AND ascended ancients/atlantians
I would love to watch his ideas come to life in a Stargate project. I’m am just hopping we will get a Stargate project that will continue the story, and let us see are beloved characters again.
We all need some kind of Stargate show to come back 🙏
I would love this if it ever get off the ground.
Amazon needs a honest win after the debacle they caused with their alternate Lord of the Rings show...
i'm writing three stargate novels for myself... gonna get some dudes to do the artwork and make designs for ships. He then sets out working to fix the timeline, save the Asgard, save Daniel and Sam, and reinvent the entire Stargate Universe. I'm calling it Stargate Ascendant -- The Rise of the Lantean Commonwealth.
Sounds cool
*So much room and space to explore the Jaffa future, mixed in with flashbacks to their origins*
🤙🏽⚡️⚡️🤙🏽
That might have worked. Stargate command had gotten kind of powerful compared to the enemies left, and Yet Another Insumrountable Bad Guy might have gotten old. The Free Jaffa don't have the Asgard tech and could go toe to toe with the Lucian Alliance (or, just as likely, other Jaffa) on a more even basis. The revelation of the Stargates to the public of Earth could have happened mostly off-screen with repurcussions making Earth take a backstage role (understandably: imagine the public finding out how often Earth came to being conquered or destroyed )
I feel like a good Stargate video game could definitely help the franchise and open it up to a new generation of people. One game could be a semi linear shooter with adventure game features, similar to Tomb Raider or Uncharted, if good writing is put into it, that could be really fun. Another game could be a RTS in which you both manage a space fleet and ground forces. Have different system lords battle each other and command giant Jaffa armies, on planets and in space.
Bring the MMO back!!! A good Stargate game would be Epic
I’m re-watching Stargate right now. I just got to the episode with the film crew and the SGC and what happened to Janet in tears… what it got me thinking if teal was awarded some honorary rank or even went through basic training what would his rank be within the SGC??
this is why copyright should only last for 20 years, we would have new stories already based around stargate and jafa but it's illegal to make them...
So long as we dont get another stargate galactica soap opera.
Amazon is going to ruin Stargate like they ruined The Lord of the Rings. I'd almost prefer they didn't make another show
After all these years of gate travel, they finally meet the furlings. Make friends and help them fight their enemy.
sounds pretty good a fresh take
The Stargate franchise is fantastic, but led by fearful incompetent people that have been paralyzed into inaction. There have been so many missed opportunities to continue this franchise in one way or another and yet they do nothing. Fans will flock to new Stargate, so long as it continues with the same rough storyline, quality, and flavor of the original movie and first 3-4 tv series. After Disney destroyed Star Wars there is a vacuum that could be filled by Stargate and be very successful, just stay within Stargate’s existing universe, and don’t do what the mouse did. They cannot make a better Star Wars universe than George did, period. Bring Stargate back 👍💯
What we really need is more Wormhole X-Treme! I almost died laughing when that episode aired.
or more CSI: Stargate with Detective Sheppard
What I don’t want is another origin story or young Sheldon
Man I miss Stargate 😞
Honestly while I feel if done right it could be awesome but in reality it would have likely been a mess. Also like most shows it would have become massively WOKE. Especially because of context of the of the show. Writers would abuse the context to put there take on modern issues in like we have seen done with ever current hit show.
lets gooooooooooooooo!!!!!
I would like to see a series on the Ancients, the beginning of it all.
furies
If you read between the lines, that was SGU.
I hope they do we so lacking in good sifi shows .
Bring everybody back for a new Stargate series Amazon
Dont do it,dont give me hope...
The Teal'C show would have been good. I suspect IF they make a new series it will likely be a reboot. They could leave everything intact, and tell the story of any other universe in the quantum mirror. 😎
Stargate may not be the biggest franchise of MGM, but for MGM TV... it is way up there. Stargate has to be in their top 10 doesn't it? Most of their big franchises are movies - Bond, Rocky, Robocop. What else do they have for tv? Stargate, Handmaid, Fargo, Twilight Zone.
shared too i have an idea too if only i had a ton of buckage id defineteely help him out with the projects too even get a pitch of another mythology that is well turned out to be real on a faraway world that almost mirrors earth but something very odd and different there but very awesome too.
As more and more time passes it becomes extremely unlikely that a new Stargate serie happens in the format and story we all grew up with. SG1 cast members are all aging and Amazon doesnt seem very interested to continue the story made by Wright, so .... yeah so much for that sadly. Im fairly sure Amazon didnt buy the Stargate franchise just to let it die so something is bound to come up but it'll be a brand new reboot of the franchise with no connection with whats been done previously with it would be my guess.
Teal'cs joke was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
A Jaffa Origins story would be more action oriented and more interesting than the first Origins. Christopher Judge's directed episodes on SG1 were great.
According to Roland Emmerich the issue is that there are too many cooks in the kitchen. I couldn't disagree more! The issue is that the cooks aren't given the opportunity and the creative freedom to cook their respective Stargate dishes! I could see Brad Wright's team as well as interested newcomers form a huge Stargate story group. Amazon MGM Studios have the budget, all they need is commitment, a huge table and lots of whiteboards! Imagine them hiring multiple creators who work on multiple Stargate projects!
Roland Emmerich is also terrible. Stargate is pretty much the only good thing he's been involved in. And I think that was mostly luck. SG-1 is WAAAAAY better than the movie.
Sure 10 seasons of television is better than a movie, no surprise there! If Stargate (1994) is a seed, then SG-1, Atlantis & Universe are the forest! @@StormsparkPegasus
@@martonfymarton I mean, SG-1 was way better than the movie right out of the gate though. Going in a direction that Roland Emmerich did not like and was very critical of, produced a MUCH better show than he did.
Dont take any notice of Emmerich - he is a hack that is jealous that a spinoff is more popular than the film he directed. He is responsible for as much of the delays to a reboot as amazon/mgm are
@@StormsparkPegasus their vision for the Devlin and Emmerich Stargate trilogy was very limited, meaning limited planets, limited stargates, limited ideas... Wright, Glassner & Cooper have built so much upon the feature film indeed.
Come on. Try me. I’m waiting for it.
Indeed.
Ok, I'd like the Jaffa Nation to be kind of a gray actor. They can't have the same morals as us, that will break immersion. It's still a very militant faction where it was left off. I think there is a potential Teal'c scripts includes that, so yes, I'd support it.
Honestly i think if they really want to bring the series back into mass market the best way would be to hire writer/directors to make their own world's centric movies in the SG universe for 1 hour to 1 and 1/2 hour length episode/movies that dial up at the end in an omnibus style, then only use the successful ones as the centers of single season series, anything a tier below that options for 3 episode arcs in another omnibus or spinoff series(if a success could use help filling a season) and dumping any episode recieved poorly as exclusively a 1 off.
Hell yeah
Meh, it doesn't really sound that interesting to me. Kind of like how Michael Dorn spent decades trying to get his own spin off about Klingons.
And let's not forget Origins was complete garbage....and THAT'S what they went with?
I think a Jaffa centered show would have been a mistake. They really aren't that interesting. These plotlines could have made a good addition to a new Stargate series, but an SG team from Earth would still need to be the main protagonists. It's the same reason why a Star Trek series about the Klingons rather than the Federation is a bad idea... at the end of the day, who really cares about the Klingons or the Jaffa? There's nothing at stake for the audience, who will necessarily be Human beings from Earth who want to see Human characters they can relate to having amazing adventures, not a bunch of aliens all the time
I would much rather want goauld centered show, pre humanoid host era, unas host era, discovery of human hosts and the beginning of tokra. Their first interactions with asgard etc.
Maybe even pre ascention anubis as a villain.
On a second though, I would love to have a short (3-10) series of maybe even short stories featuring Tealc and Jonas as private investigators.
They were great together in sg1 episode with cloned symbionts. Jonas has great awareness and logic, while Tealc is a stellar interogator.
They need to bring back all of the Stargate shows. These shows would easily be the best shows on TV/streaming by miles. Think about how much competition in sci-fi programming existed when Stargate sg1, sga and sgu first came out and now there is none. It could be bigger than Star Wars and Star Trek combined if it stayed true and wasn't corrupted by the woke mind virus. These shows ended with limitless potential still remaining.
Wakanda is mostly a really bad example of "technologically and culturally advanced".
Even a civilization based on advanced magic couldn't be expected to get so far with that primitive culture, much less science and mostly an advanced energy source / construction material.
The Jaffa could plausibly advance culturally in a few centuries, but 10 years later... They'd still be a slave culture with somewhat more power than before.
Democracy isn't even a form of governance that's suited to efficient progress.
It'd be more interesting to show the Jaffa being a mess... And slowly maturing.
Although them going 65% evil would be a more realistic expectation.
... Overall though, this sounds more like a mini-series than a new show.
wouldnt mind exploring this
I will buy this book.
Maybe Judge can use his video game connections to make his idea into a game. Amazon may be willing to give some company the license to make one since it will be in a different medium that won't compete with them.
Here’s an idea. A complete reboot of stargate sg1. Later in the series, like maybe end of season 1 or in season 2, we learn it’s another planet, and the original sgc is still in operation on earth. This would be a great way to start fresh, and allow original characters a chance to show up from time to time.
If Amazon is determined to do a reboot, that would be the best way to do it.
I mean they have all multiverse to choose from.
@@galaxya40s95 I'm not talking about the multiverse, I'm saying same verse as SG1, just not Earth. It would be some other planet that developed similar to Earth.
I respect your idea because I'm starved for Stargate but I'm not sure I like that idea.
They must do something to keep the franchise going.
Maybe put a kaviat to that because that mentality got us Origins which was a failure. Hell I only heard about it after it flopped.
No, they really don't.
Star trek franchise anyone?
Made me stop watching Star Trek completely.
I was a die-hard trekkie. After the first season of discovery, I stopped watching anything related to trek, even the old shows, just lost all interest. Nu-trek burned the entire franchise for me, what Patrick Stewart did to Picard makes him to me one of the biggest sell-outs I've ever seen.
I'm not risking that for Stargate, love it too much, I will not watch anything new. I have all the old stuff on dvd and will stick with that.
It would be a cool show
I loved Teal'c but we need a continuation of SG1 or Atlantis...the Jaffa were not that interesting and don't need their own series...we need SG1/A back...or a new series that's connected with them.
IMHO Origins problem was not the lack of connection to the rest of SG, but that it was kinda boring and all CGI looked as if a 5 xear old had rendered it on an Windows 3.11 Pc from the 90s.
Would love to see more Jaffa storis tho
I think the biggest problem with Origins wasn't that it was unconnected, but rather than no one watched it.
Realistically, how many people subscribed to a Stargate only subscription service? I certainly wasn't going to pay to watch one show, and I already owned the others on DVD.
Every company thinking they can have their own slice of the streaming-pie is the problem here. Too many different services without enough worthwhile content. Sure, it sounds appealing to take the profit all for yourself instead of licensing things out to Netflix etc., but you have to have enough to make it worthwhile for the users to pay - to recoup the costs of developing and promoting your own service.
Paramount+ has a much larger volume of content than MGM's SG only service, and even then most people just consider it as a service for Star Trek content, which still hasn't done well enough to keep shows like Prodigy alive.
Instead of the Jaffa reverse-engineering different Gould tech to be usable by them too, they should make it simpler, like a new modified version of Tritonin that Gould devices then recognize as Naquadah in the blood. Then they could easily find new caches and tech along the way that they can still use. Maybe minor Gould out there start modifying their tech to counter it, so its not "always" usable.
I'd liked to have seen this instead of - ORIGINS - as that was just an absolute failure! I don't think it would've lasted that long either tbh.
What I'd like to have seen was a series based upon the Ancients!
Stargate Origins shouldn't have started with Catherine. If they had done the Tok'ra, it probably would have been more successful.
The Catherine storyline was just awful. Also, stories that end by erasing all memory of what just happened suck. They are the worst.
With the whole respect and my love to Stargate - no, Please no. Bad idea
omg yes!
he is the best actor!
No, he's really not, sorry. His IMDB page speaks for itself.
I would love to watch the Free Jaffa series!!! Origins could have really taken off with nice sets, costumes, and visuals but unfortunately it was just a bit too corny. I was hoping they would do a bra'tac origins story.
How about a series that stars the young clone of Jack?
He would have rejoined the airforce when he was 18 and would have been a colonel already. That would be interesting but the guy must be 40 by now.
I gave up hope years ago for a new show in the stargate universe, but at some point they will reboot. I think that's for sure.
I fear that day.
@@Mate397 indeed.
I don't think a Free Jaffa series would necessarily satisfy fans if it was a standalone concept. Maybe it would work as a side storyline to a greater series that also involved all the fan loved characters. Whilst Teal'c is the whole reason that the SG-1 team was able to continue existing, and as interesting as the Jaffa story might be from a historical, to a freedom basis, is that going to be enticing enough to bring in old and new fans?
It could turn into a DS9 like series.
Any Stargate is good Stargate at this point. I miss it. Plus the original actors are getting older and we are running out of time to be able to connect a new show with the old. Hell Im even okay with a reboot at this point.
Disney should have never lost MGM
Yes it's a shame that when they made the Third series SG Universe they didn't incorporate the whole Stargate universe which could have been the best of the ideas seeing episodes of SG1 the new free Jaffa stories, Atlantis and even what happened to be SGU and any new ideas not realised, but unfortunately wasn't to be
Even if they began pre-production in January by the time it hits the screen, nearly as much time would have gone by as between the last episode of TOS and the first episode of TNG.
You are looking at a new audience, can't bank on boomers and millennials alone.
Let's be brutally honest here. The franchise is dead. People want more. But they don't want stories that don't work. They don't want cast that are not the originals. That is why no matter how much pitch Chris does, it won't float. The Ancients might have a snow balls chance. Because they were tech. advanced. With characters that could de-evolve and be less rigid if mixed with the people of earth. But that would have to be backed by a personality like Jason. And the $ needed for that would be too steep I think. So, again, fantasy to think there is a recipe now that could relaunch anything from this franchise on these levels. The SGU window of opportunity sailed by, what chance could there possibly be for any other stories from the SG1 or SGA ? People that don't care about the original cast and the visuals were too few, which is why that origins thing died fast.
Personally, I was done with Stargate after about season 8, though I've since finished all of SG1. They had done the premise to death at that point, it's why I've never watched Atlantis or Universe. A show focusing on the Jaffa might have been a nice change of pace...
huh.
Would've been a cool release to drop say 5 years ago.
culturally timing it with the BLM thing
i want to see his Stargate series i want to know of the Jaffa origins and the Amazon mythos as well new beings entities who knows the discovery of the real FURLINGS heck STARGATE is getting more and more followers i say go for the gold Mr. Christopher Judge thread that needle and shatter the barrier and even further down the line they might even continue Universe in a whole new story maybe Stargate the light beyond the universe.
I want a new follow up stargate sg-1 movie
What do jaffa do if you shout kree at them anyway?& How come they never paid attention to jack O'Neill shouting kree at them?
god i totally forgot origins it was so bad
The flaw in origins was them knowing how to manually dial the gate. That made zero sense. They should have used the DHD to make it believable.
Stargate Origins would have been great if the writing and acting were better and MGM dropped more money into its production. The Wakanda Stargate thing, while intriguing, would have been a very, very bad idea.
You let that guy voice act Black Panther for once and this is what you get ... -.-
not digging the wakanda theme but love a count on jaffa I kinda want a langaran based series.
No thanks, because the next Stargate has to take place in another galaxy. Like in a galaxy where the Furlings fled the Goa Uld, taking with them as many humans as possible.
Up until recently, I had little faith in Hollywood/Amazon/Disney in general. I'd been saying for years that this woke crap was destroying every franchise, and I was so glad Stargate was left unmolested. It seems that some in Hollywood/Disney/Amazon have started to see the light now, and the boat is righting itself. When Disney made the announcement that they were taking that woke crap out of one the upcoming Pixar movies and leaving it to parents to educate their kids on such topics, I actually stopped breathing for a minute. As much as I'd love to see a new Stargate show, I wouldn't watch a reboot or reimagining for a modern audience. If it's true that the boat is finally righting itself, and Hollywood/Disney/Amazon have finally started waking up, then it could finally be time to continue (not reboot or reimagine) the journey of Stargate. They will absolutely need to get Rob and at least 2 of the other better former executive producers involved (Brad, Joe, Paul, Peter, and Jon). We need to know what happened to the Destiny crew, even if it means finding out they all died and the Destiny was lost, and we need to know what they ultimately did with Atlantis.
I wrote my own story that involved Carter, McKay, Rush, and Eli figuring out a way to repair an Ori Supergate and getting a new Icarus Class ship (built from the ground up with Tau'ri, Asgard/Vanir, and Lantean/Ori tech and designs) through said Gate to the Destiny so it could be repaired/upgraded. Then, both ships continue the mission together with Rush and Eli in charge of the Destiny and Telford and Scott in charge of the Icarus. Young died somehow, or was sent back to Earth (I always disliked him).
I definitely see your point. I try to be wary and not accuse everything of being woke just because they include people who do not look like me, however, we know that Amazon likes to shove a lot of it into their original shows.
Well I watch it for sure but I dont think it gather enough audience to keep it running after so many years. Stargate need something strong to come back. Star Trek did it I believe they can do it too. Sci fi is back on track hope Stargate return before it goes away like before.
AAAAAAAAAAA stop talking about origins!!!
i haven't cringed as hard as when i watched that drek
no respect for the lore, sets worth less then the catering they must've had and acting on par with a highschool play.
I can tolerate a lot of artistic freedoms, but respect for the source material must be present.
It clearly was not. (every production has a minimum run cost, if you can't hit that number just don't make it. have some dignity.)
therefore it shall not have ours.
Please do not mention them again.
They're like the netflix dragonball or death note movies.
shameful blips in a story's history that shall be forgotten and burried.
