Just found your channel via a recommendation from Toy Polloi and subscribed. As I child of the 80's V both intrigued and scared the shit out of me to the point of trying to watch it on a small black and white tv in my bedroom without getting caught.
Lol, I was the same, a little black and white set. Watching it late after the Olympics. Loved it then, have. Sift spot for it now🙂 hope you enjoy the channel.
I've got 7 of these V Novels, bought them all at different times on ebay, I'm waiting for Path to Conquest to arrive from the USA, probably the most expensive one so far. I intend to collect them all .....eventually! Yours are all in mint condition, Awesome collection!😀👍
Had a good time with these back in the day. I remember Crispin's initial novelization being the first time--and I think I still stand by this--where I actually recommend the novelization over the miniseries. It straightens out the pacing, and of course dispenses entirely with the budgetary limitations. Although of course, you don't get Michael Ironside. In general, I thought "tawdry airport bestseller" wound up wearing marginally better on the material than "pair of television miniseries."
Nice Collection. I remember V being a Big thing back in 84-85 on Uk TV. We never reallly had a TV show with such big budget Special effects. As a teenager I really faniced the evil alien dark haired woman , until I saw her eating a mouse...lol. Keep up the Brill back in the day videos.
Thanks for going over the books and comics. I still have all of mine, but I don't know if I got them all. I had most of the books, all of the comics, and I'm not sure how many of the V Files books.
I bought the first and second generation books about to read second generation soon. thanks for the video , I now get the order to read them in. I want them all
Nice V book collection you've got there. I have V the mini series, Final Battle and the TV series on DVD. I'm not a fan of the TV series, the first two were a better show. Not to long ago they released V mini series on blu ray.
You're right and I think that's pretty much the majority opinion of the TV series. I saw that the original series is now out on Blu-ray, I wonder if it still stands up? Still love those books though🙂
@@JulesBurt I've read good reviews on the blu ray transfer but some others said if you own the DVD version it's not a night and day difference. I'll eventually buy the blu ray version, maybe wait for it to go on sale. 😉👍
I remember the original tv mini series they mentioned that the visitors had enemies (other than the human rebels on earth) Did any of the books or comics ever go more into the back story about the visitors enemies like who or what? They were?
@@JulesBurt it was a great tv series I remember watching it on tv as a kid both the original mini series (series 1) and the second mini series v the final battle (series 2) both very good 🙂
V-was an favorite of mine, especially season 1 was great and of course Jane Badler so mean! LOL
Jane Badler was the best!🙂
I remember when I visited uk back in 94 , i found those 2 books published in uk at British home stores . Man was I one happy kid to get those .
I bet, they are scarce!

Thanks, I was able to grab most when they were published and filled in my gaps about a decade ago, when they were a bit cheaper 🙂

For sure Joe, that original novel is truly excellent. Ann Crispin wrote some pretty decent Star Trek books as well.🙂👍
Jules, I loved this video. Excellent V collection 🤩
Thanks Allan. I only got the last couple of paperbacks recently. They make a really nice set don't they?🙂
Jules Burt they certainly do 😍
Great series. I enjoyed looking at the books available.
Thanks Stephen, they are fun to collect as these not hundreds of them 🙂
My brother gifted me the first book of V for Xmas in the ‘90s and I was hooked now I have all the novels and dvds
Nice, it's still a great series👍

Thanks buddy! Yes, she was called Jane Badler, still stunning to this day. Gotta love the 80's!🙂
Great video. Not many people mention the books.
Death Tide & Texas Run weren't released in the UK.
Thanks, I wasn't 100% sure🙂

The files series are scarce I think, I bought mine at the time. eBay is best for these or the cool Facebook group.

Awesome, thanks Jim. On the whole, these are really solid novels and very enjoyable.
@@JulesBurt I'll be making a video about it soon too just cause I'm a fan.
Nice, leave a link to it here in a fresh comment🙂

Sadly not Tom, although that would have been super cool. What a great series this was eh?🙂

Yep, me too. Staying up late after the Olympics for season one. I was still at school then!
@@JulesBurtYes I think it was on itv I remember being allowed to stay up as well to watch it.
Me too🙂
Did the dc comics reprint episodes or were they separate stories?
All brand new stories🙂
