I agree with your ranking of Spirit Tracks very emphatically, as someone who ran it in 2014 after getting the advice "you should use your favorite game to get into speedruns" and still has a top 10 time almost a decade later because of how dead and unexciting the run is. It literally put me off trying more speedruns for almost five years.
Oh gosh yeah I remember sitting through the whole 4-hour speedrun to make this video and for sure it's not a beginner's run.....

Suggestion: would you consider adding chapters/timestamps to your description? Not sure how beneficial they would really be, but it might be nice to break the video into segments for the intro, each game, conclusions, etc. Great content, regardless.
I could! I thought about it but since there would be like 20 parts I thought it would look crowded maybe? But yeah I could definitely add that.
@@Skyehoppers I honestly don't think that it being crowded is a bad thing. It's an extremely great feature and actually helps me watch long form videos a lot more easily since I have ADHD
@@GrimlandCS I hadn't thought about it from that perspective! Just added chapter markers and I'll add them the Mario video and all future videos as well. I definitely want my videos to be as accessible as possible and if chapter markers help that then Ill do my best to incorporate them.

I would’ve put Twilight Princess at a glitch level of at least 3. There is a lot of glitches, and the entire game is basically a glitchy exploited mess for two hours
Not the point of the video but by far Link's Awakening is my favorite of the 2D zeldas and has a grip on my soul. I catch myself idly humming the ballad of the wind fish sometimes.

Next zelda game after Tears of the Kingdom RTS game themed around the big showdown between Gannon and his army vs Hyrule and their armies. Link does not show up until the post credit cutscene to tease the next game which ends up being a tactical RPG.
as a math nerd i feel compelled that if you wanted your adjusted NSR to be a little less arbitrary you could have just gone for a log scale :)

Thanks! Yeah Ive been posting to r/speedrun and that's where like over half of my traffic has come from honestly. Tbh I probably wont do another video with this exact formula? Metroid would probably work but I've never actually played any of the games so I don't think I would feel qualified to talk about them.
@@Skyehoppers if you don't do another like this that would be fine, but as an aspiring runner of every Mario game I loved your last one! If you do one more, I think the pokemon series could be really interesting too, even if they aren't all that glitchy on their own. Either way love the videos!
@@mattbarker97 I do have something tentatively planned for Pokemon! It wont be exactly like this but it will be pretty similar (you'll see what I mean within a year I'd say)
Weird, is Triforce Heroes not considered canon? Didn't they say it's literally the sequel to a link between worlds? And it also has a singleplayer mode, why isn't it here?

I automatically have to criticize your glitch score, ACE getting anything less than a 5 is absurd. There is nothing more game breaking and "glitchy" than ACE. Its like saying a gun isn't gunshot isn't deadly because the bullet travels to fast to see, its absurd.
