What a amazing compilation of pictures I moved from airdale in 1980 when I was 10 I'm now 53 and still have my CAS accent and bloody proud of it too we lived on Redhill drive looking down towards Carlisle road
I live on Camden Road for 55yrs and when i moved 2yrs ago i only knew about Half a Dozen, it as changed a lot over the years, i was at the other end of Gamden Road to Mrs Kendrew.
Thanks for posting this selection of photos. I was at this school from late '59 to starting Cas Sec Mod in sept '61 living with my uncle at the bottom of Ruskin Ave temporarily. I dont recognise anyone it could be they were a year older. A nice friendly school,no nasty kids, and and great playtimes on the big field when the grass was dry. Please post any other photos for this school, this is the only one I have ever seen.
I suppose there are not many of the old guard left up there, beside Mr and Mrs Lamb the bottom of Lodge ave.Mrs.Goodhall two doors away from Mrs.Kendrews.I was born in the front bedroom at No 29 Camden rd, 57 years ago!
Holy X RC church at 1' 15": the columns (with Ionic capitals) came from the demolished Fryston Hall (Lord Houghton), and were carted to Airedale by out-of-work miners in the early '30s.
