My god, talking about easy, I bought this system as a replacement of my faulty home security system, but it's next level difficult. When I looked at the end of the video it doesn't seem is plug and play 😀 the video is useful for understanding there are too many option to set the device and for a non-professional it can be quite confusing (especially in my case where the app is in a different language that the instruction manuals and videos).
By the way, what I was looking for, is it possible to automatically turn on or off the alarm by swiping the tag? I want to give one to my cleaners, but I'm not sure if they understand to swipe and touch a button to activate it. I want to keep it simple for them.
is there a setting for the bell box so the lights are always flashing?

Hi dave love your videos. Just a quick question I've tried setting up push notifications on the ax pro. So that it does the ring and sms notifications, but it' doesn't work. Is it possible you can do a video explaining the setup plz. Thank you very much

@@DVSLTDplease can you do a video on notifications. Using the him connect app I can't seem to set up notifications so that the burglar alarm sounds but all other notifications are silent (if that makes sense)
Thanks for the video! I wish this was available when I bought all the bits a few months ago. We have the old keypad and card reader and get so many false alarms when staff members can't tell if the alarm is armed or not. The really slow response of the whole system compared to a wired system confuses people. A screen wouldn't help the slow response but at least people would know the status of the system.
If anyone's contemplating getting the non-LCD keypad, don't! This looks far more usable. I too am excited about where this will take the AX Pro for the next level of ... um ... us guys. :)
Slow response in what way? Set up properly a wireless alarm shouldn't be noticeably slower than a wired alarm. I have never used Hik alarm equipment so I'm not sure how good it is, looks a bit cheap to me but that doesn't mean it's not good.
@@buddyboy6071 Alarm triggering is fine - it's fast and works as it should. Arming and disarming through the old keypad and card reader is different.
The card reader isn't very sensitive - you often have to find the sweet spot before your card or tag is picked up. I'm guessing it's either because it's in sleep mode and has to wake up and transmit the signal, or the coil is small or not putting out much power to save on battery life. After the card is detected (the reader beeps softly), there is a short delay (1-2 seconds - you can see a similar delay in this video at 20:33 where the screen says "Waiting for result") before the alarm disarms.
The problem with not having a screen is, sometimes users don't hear the soft beep from the card reader (we're next to a busy road) so they keep swiping to find the sweet spot which re-arms the alarm. The sounder double-beeps to tell you it's disarmed but then it beeps again on re-arming, and now the reader also beeps multiple times because the exit delay has been triggered. It's just a whole lot of beeping going on. Then when the alarm gets set off when they open the door or move around, they swipe to disarm but nothing happens immediately because of the delay, so they swipe again and again and the cycle continues.
A keypad+reader with a display will take care of the confusion. The slow response is still there (Waiting for result), but because the user now knows what is actually happening, they won't be blindly swiping not knowing if their card had been detected or why the panel is suddenly beeping on arming (e.g. if a door was left open).
A wired system doesn't have any power considerations to worry about so it can respond instantly to the keypad and card swipes, but will cost a lot more to retrofit compared to a wireless system.
A wired system is always preferred but might not be cost-effective in many situations. Now that Hikvision has released an LCD keypad I would go with wireless again if I had to. If you asked me if I would go with the AX Pro system again before the wireless keypad was released, I would be hesitant unless all the users could use the app or were more technically-inclined.
Thanks for the grat content! This system is simple to install and use, I like it very much. However, I'm facing one issue: I have multiple areas set up. I can control everything on the mobile app and web client interface, but I cannot select different areas to arm/disarm on the LCD Keypad. There is only one option: 'select all', areas are not listed separately. Area status is also empty...
Do you have a solution for this?
are you on the latest firmware for the panel I would check that , also in the device setting of the keypad you need to select all areas that can be controlled by it by ticking them , and it needs to be in advanced mode not simple mode 😉
@@DVSLTD latest firmware, all areas are linked to keypad and it oparates in standard mode (not simple mode). And still cannot select different areas. I even reset the device. It seems I have to call local support with this... Anyway, thanks for the advice ;)
Great videos, I want to get a Hikvision Alarm but am not certain whether to get the AX Pro, AX Hub or AX Hybrid. Are the HUB and Pro being replaced by the Hybrid?

@@DVSLTD Great thanks, just orderd a AX Pro, Seems my supplier had a miscommunication with Hikvision. As you mentioned they will all be available, here in South Africa as well.

Does the keypad have a built in sounder for when the alarm is triggered? If so how loud is it?

Hi Dave and everyone! Geat videos and information. I recently purchased and installed an AxPro at home but I'm struggling with 2 things, can someone please help or point me to a website or something?
1) how do I get an audible countdown timer on entry and exit when arming/disarming? Do I need this LCD keypad or a previous keypad to enable this or does the AxPro not have an audible countdown timer function?
2) what is the easiest way to set up a 'night mode'? Such that my door contacts (front/back) + kitchen PIR are triggered only at night.
Stay Arm bypasses all internal PIR and I've created a 2nd Zone but the alarm doesn't trigger when I have devices linked to multi areas.
(Firmware all up to date and I'm using HikConnect Pro to set up).

Do you find answer for your questions ? If you want to share it, of course. I want to buy that sistem, but i can't find all the information about it. I watch so many short and long presentation on You Tube, but non of these review, covers the entire specs of the alarm sistem ( specialy the main unit).Same on the online store, lack of information, about product. 1. There is no countdown timer. There is only a beep in delay mode. When the time is over, the beep stops.
2. Stay arm can be set on device level. When the stay arm bypassing is on, the device will be skipped in stay arm mode. You should skip the stay arm bypass mode on your door contacts, then these will be armed in stay arm mode.
Hi, I installed an axpro with the hik-connect app, as a user but I can't acces it by web browser. It asks a installer user and password. I tryed with my account user but it is incorrect. Help please
Once you type in the web browser the ip address for it you'll be able to log in with your hik-connect account
Can this use wifi and sim for backup?
It has LAN, wifi and cellular connections. If one fails, the system uses the other one.
The more expensive M2 models have 4G cellular connectivity and two SIM slots too.
You can manage your system via 4G cellular too if the internet is down. The data is stored on Hikvision cloud sent by the alarm center. The Hikvision cloud communicates with your cellphone using the Hikcinnect app. It can send push messages to your phone.
It has state-of-the-art data transmission; it is much advanced than a wired DSC or Paradox system with a basic GSM transceiver.
The system is responding very slowly. If you swipe your tag, it takes seconds to take effect. You do not know if you did it wrong or the system is busy. Without LCD, this system would be a pain in the ass.
I like the AX Pro concept, but I hate the lagging actions compared to my wired systems. It would be great if the screen could be always on and powered by wire too.
This screen is very big. It is a brick. When I ordered this, I expected a 50% smaller keypad. When it arrived, I was shocked as it is a 3cm thick tablet instead of a 1cm thick cell phone.
Considering the PIR sensors, they are not very sensitive comparing them to their wired counterparts. When you go slowly, you can avoid the alarm even in high sensitivity setting. The LED does work only in test or armed mode. When the system is disarmed, it is off regardless LED was set to on.
I had a fault at the beginning when I installed everything. It did not go away until the system was rebooted. It means it is not as stable as it should be.
To sum up, I am not sure if I bought this system again.
Is the voice NEEDED, or can it be turned Off?
Voice prompt can be disabled in panel programming mode.
Optional it can be turned off 😊
Looks great but too many features for the average customer, just confuses them, have the same problem with the Hybrid keypad!
As stated , the simple mode would be best in that case and it just sets / unsets 😊
