I have stayed at that pink hotel in Mojave. A train hit a truck and blocked I-40 and I got stuck in Mojave for the night... It was the only place that had a room and it was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. The early 70's left it's decor in the room I had... I had totally forgot about that place until I seen your model... Looks really close to the real thing.
Great building scratch built. Lighting really turned out authentic!!! Love the WM bins
Thank's for bringing a little SoCal to SC. Mike
Thanks for watching Mike!
Excellent update Kory, buildings looking awesome. the LED lights just finish it off nicely.
Dave
Thanks a lot! Yeah I agree!
Looks really good, the signage really helped Jack's, and the motel & store look good too, the lights helps a lot, not turning all the light out in the room was a good idea aa we can see much better!
Thank you!
This is amazing work, it looks so realistic and the fact it is n scale... Man you are so talented. It would be great if you could one day a how-to or step by step video of your scratchbuild process.Could I ask how you print the signage on the buildings? Is it photo paper or decal sheets you print onto?Keep up the great work and the videos man, this is my favourite n scale channel on UA-cam.
Thanks man! I do plan on it one day. I just use plain printer paper and a high quality printer. I use white Elmers glue to mount, sticker paper is expensive, I go threw a lot of paper getting the right scale size. Will do thanks for watching!
Love the barbed wire. I'll have to give it a try with my layout. 👍
Thanks! Not to hard, just use CA glue and some patience!
Hi Korey! I really like the Jack in the Box, motel and Mojave liquor improvements. You are really a master at creating authentic-looking details! Are you ever planning to add the Mojave Carl's Jr? In the real world, I park my semi truck there occasionally when passing through town to grab a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. It would be cool to see the Carl's Jr represented on your layout. Thanks for sharing this update.

Thank you! Yes I do plan on having a Carl's Jr.! Now I know what I'm having for dinner! Thanks for watching!
I am impressed with your streets and structures. Very nice work. I especially like the motel and liqueur as they very well describes high desert businesses on main street. Another share of your wiring under the table makes me feel comfortable as I am familiar with nest like that under my table.
Thanks, yeah wiring is right up there with ballasting on my not so enjoyable list. Thanks for watching!
Hey Kory, love your work, I use sheets of clear acrylic to form out on businesses in order to illuminate the signage...
Looks Great. Like the Lightings you have done, Looks Realistic, and are answering some of the Questions, I see in my designs. Thanks for answers, and learning your solutions, gaining ideas on mine. Still in the "Planing the Layout" stage, yet gaining FANTASTIC scenes for my KCS Lines . . .
very nice.. love the buildings.
very good, love the lights.
Thanks!
Just a thought for ya..Light the highway sign in front of the liquor store.
That is a good idea thanks!
AWESOME!!!!! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
Thank you, will do!
Great looking structures
Thank you!
Motel is a nice addition. Hope the miners don't head down the stairs in the dark.
Thanks! Think they'll be fine! =)
Wow! I just checked out the liquor store and motel on Google Earth and your structures are spot on. Your entire layout is outstanding with lots of accurate details. Great job! One of these days I’ll post a video of my N scale layout. Is the other liquor store still available?
Google earth was a big help in modeling.cool would like to see it. i do have a extra one i built
Beautiful! I am making a N scale layout in the 50's..... and I need to know how you made the sidewalks and driveway ramps. They are excellent.
Love the detail. I use to live in Mojave it is a walk down memory lane. But where is the overpass west of the Jack in the box?
Thanks! I sacrificed the overpass for room for more buildings and I really wanted to have a crossing to use my NJ international crossing gates witch I think are great! Thanks for watching!
layout looks amazing, details look great thanks for sharing...
Thank you!
Nice work, Looks good to my eye.
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
It would be incredible if you could educate some of us on a how to build structures like yours. The hotel, liqueur and streets/sidewalks. All are very realistic. Thanks
I do plan on that in the near future. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful work. What did you use for the texture on the walls of the hotel.
It was was just the way paint sprayed from the can! So it gave the look of stucco
Great work on the buildings and town. You have a nack for great lighting effects and placement.
LOVE IT! A great inspiration as I start my N Scale Layout!
Right on! Good luck with your layout, stay tuned for more videos! -Kory
Nice!
thanks!
Your pink motel makes me think of the horror flick called Joy Ride, which I love. I just watched it last night in celebration of Halloween.
Very cool lol Happy Halloween!
Thank you! Happy Halloween to you!
hi Kory... love all you structures i have a question... where did you get all the details for you McDonalds??? the 3d lettering.. the yellow spear ( for lack of better description) at the roof line on the front of the building?? your attention to detail is awesome... also you said you printed out the windows & doors for the hotel.. where did you find those??? thanks for sharing.. vinny
Thanks Vinny. I got the 3D lettering from a Vollmer Mcdonalds kit everything else is scratch built. The yellow swoosh is a scaled down picture cut out then traced on styrene. The pictures are from google earth(street view) of the actual building scaled down in Photoshop! I will do a how to one day. Thanks for watching!
thanks for the info.. vinny
I like using business cards for signage as well as adverts in magazines or coupon adverts
What happened to this guy ? No more layout videos…
When I win the lottery I will stay a night in your pink motel on my way to the porsche dealer.
