Thank you for the legwork and humility. Lots of surplus stuff out there that can be dyed. I would advise you to get that weapon painted, etc... Camo of any sort is given away when your weapon systems don't blend. Great job..thank you. KAG 2020
I keep watching these dying videos. I keep coming to the conclusion that I spend quite a bit of time in the one biome where UCP kinda works. I just wish the dirt color of the UCP was a shade or two darker. The sage color seems to match sagebrush pretty well.
Your hat and ucp top get a good amount of light reflection that gives away a bit. Honestly i think your ucp pants did the best out of all the patterns. I think if you did your ucp top to match the slightly darker ucp pants it'd be perfect for that particular environment.
😂😂😂 thanks! That’s why the video isn’t title “how to move quietly and stealth fully through the woods”..... the goal was to show the difference in dying the camo
Bro, workin on it.... you do you, I’m gonna do me....I’m not on here giving weight loss or heath tips, I’m talking about dying ACU, radio info, etc... while I fully agree with you and if you have seen my videos discussing me trying to get back in shape, you’d know I don’t advocate for being overweight or out of shape, sometimes life throws you lemons, but lemonade often takes a while to make.....thanks for your comment though I’m just glad people are watching my videos and subscribing. There’s a lot of like minded people out there and if we can help each other in any way, we’ll all be better for it....
@@appalachiansurvivalist2080 Thank you for your content and the response you gave me. If there is any way I can help you with getting back into shape, let me know
@@appalachiansurvivalist2080 One question though, can you please dye Desert Tricolor in brown or in dark brown with a pack? Sportsmans Guide has a Desert Tricolor assault pack, hydration carrier, and FLC and I want to know if dying it brown would make it blend in to surroundings similar to mine. Thanks
Yes and no. Depending what you mean by gear. If your referring to the clothes. Yes. I use my plate carrier etc. for work and training as well, so I have set it up to the way I like it. I’m always looking to improve what and how things are though.
iamcleb so insightful. Im glad you have nothing better to do than use a video on UA-cam about dying ACU to comment on someone’s physical fitness. You seem like the kind of guy that really inspires others to do better. Thank you for your service sir!
all the cammo looks great. however you have a giant and highly observable BLCK RIFLE that completely destroys all cammo functionality. paint that thing. you might as well have a flashing neon sign saying "shoot here" with an arrow pointing at you.
Excellent work man! Appreciate you doing all the leg work and showing the differences in effectiveness. Stay Frosty!
Thanks
To properly blend into the foliage, one must become the foliage...You sir, are becoming foliage. Nice work!
Thanks Thad! We’ll have to have a shoot sometime when this stuff is over. Everyone should bring their gear and I’ll make a trail range for patrol!

He was a cook in the Army 🪖
that dyed british desert looks real good
OD greens and BDU's were great for vegetated areas. Probably the best in my opinion.
I was in the Army(US) also and youve given me an idea on what to do with my old uniforms. If I can still fit in them. Lol!
Great video concept! The dyed desert british looked the best to me!!
I have to agree with you!

Unpopular opinion… ACU is THE best for civilian use. Because it’s so light it can take any color dye to blend with anyone’s environment
Good stuff, only thing you need to do now is paint that rifle bro lol. Thank you for your service and god bless from ole Carolina.

North central Wv here. New to the channel!
Very interested in hearing what your recipe was for the Marine Desert dye. What colors (brands, Rit or other?) and how long you let it soak for.
UCP, not ACU. Technically you could call it ACU, because it’s a UCP-ACU. But the OCP-ACU is still a ACU.
Lt Dan, you ain’t got no legs!!
You look like a bulldozer going through the woods

Bro please loose some weight during this quarantine. You can't survive in the woods if you get a heart attack running up a hill

OCP looked good, UCP sucked obv, and all the rest looked the same 😄 I think only adding foliage or ghillie elements would make a big difference.
The ACU pattern works great among sagebrush and that's just about it.
I have a question? Do you ruck or run in in your gear. Doing any amount of training in your gear makes it easier to wear later.

I do fitness vids in my vest,
All that kit means nothing if you can't run more than 100 feet in it

Question what's the best camo for the BlueRidge mountains?
You need the “Where Waldo?” factor. Can we spot you if you are still but in plain sight. Then move.
What’s the formula for the British and marine desert colors?
Are you still looking for the correct designation?? I can tell you the British one. It´s DDPM, Desert Disruptive Pattern Material. Hope that helps.

@Matt R very valid point. i suppose thats what the rest will call the sacrificial lamb.
