my friends said they liked it so they said make it for them as well so I did n 2015 which is now.So I made hem one I have 10 friends I said to them u can learn how to do them in art club because we will be using your video
Those are some beautiful designs but because you cut the paper in that way, you made the book mark weak. Think about using clear package tape on both sides not only to laminate but to strengthen it. The other thing is think about using grommets so the tassel won't tear through it.
Paromita Das, thank you! It's a self healing cutting mat. It's an integral part of paper cutting :) most necessary. You get different sizes. The one I'm using is A3 size. You get them in A2 which is double of A3 or A4 which is half of A3. I would suggest the Morn Sun brand. It's the best one I've used till date. You'll get it at any big stationery store or online on Amazon. All the best for your projects. Hope this helps.
The finished item is beautiful, I am however not very good at drawing, it would be wonderful if you could have added a template for your lovely design. I have not tried paper cutting but am keen to try it now.
Thanks so much! I am not any good either at drawing. I check out simple drawings on Google or Pinterest and change them a little. Or I have a small drawing book. I pick the easiest designs from there. But thanks for the idea, next time I put up something that requires drawing, I'll put up the template too.
Hey, I use my imagination and draw designs before cutting them. If you're interested, you can search the web or Pinterest for different designs. If you're a beginner, go for simple designs.
Is just a drawing of small squares and triangles and then I've just cut them how I've shown in the video. However, I'll try and get a video shot for the same and put up the video for it.
Very clean and informative! Could you tell me about the Guide board that you are using in the video? The green colour board with marks. Can you get it in India? And also about the blade you are using.
Hi US, thanks for liking my work! The cutting mat is easily available in any big stationery store - try Anupam if you're in Mumbai. Also, the knife I use is called an 'Art Knife'. You can use either Olfa or Fiskars art knives. They're the best :) hope this helps..
US Hi you can also get glass cutting mats in craft stores, but I prefer to use a stack of news paper, with a cuple of pieces of copy paper over the top for intricate work like this. Really liked the idea, I remember doing it at school, but it was one side and very straight lines/ scissors
Very true Bonnie, and sorry about that.. you'll have to wear your headphones to get clearer sound. Thankfully, we've made the required changes in the other videos. Hope you'll have a better experience watching them.
Oh! Did you try Amazon? They have these art knives. If they deliver to your place, check em out.. Or any other big Stationery or art store.. Hope you get it!
You definitely can! When I started PaperCutting, I used the ordinary cutter.. It doesn't give the exact same results as the art knife, but you can get the work done :)
That's awesome! I love you work. I'm getting ready to do some upcycled bookmarks and will share this on my blog at boreidesign.com.
