This is adorable! Making one today. I don’t have the stamp or embossing ink so I used a black marker to freehand sunflowers and watercolor pencils. It’s coming along! Your tutorial was well done. Thank you for your time.
It's a lovely gift. Thank you for the inspiration. I've done these before. Fold the twine and thread the loop through the hole at the top of the bookmark and make a knot at the bottom with long tails the length of the tassle. Hold the tassle around the knot in the center (to hide the knot) and tie the tail around the tassle with the knot under it in the center of the tassle so you can't see it. I hope this makes sense. Take care. :)
Beautiful bookmark!! Thanks for the tip on black embossing...would not have thought to use clear ink on black versamark! Your video is so well filmed, edited & narrated...I look forward to more!! - Michelle
to hide the knot, instead of lacing and then knotting the length of string connecting the tassel to the bookmark at the tassel, knot the end where it would thread through the bookmark. then shimmy the string till the knot is hidden in the tassel. then take the length used to make the top bulb or head of the tassel and tie a single knot just ABOVE the tassel around the string with the knot. then tie the string around the tassel like you would to create the head of the tassel. trim and your done!
What if, before you attach the tassel to the part that goes through the bookmark, you take that length of twine and put the loop end through the hole (and thread the two ends back through each other, like you do at the end). You'd have to make the tassel when it's already attached to the bookmark though, but I think it would work. Have you tried that?
