Javari Temple - One of Khajuraho's finest erotic sculpture temples

The Javari Temple belongs to the Eastern Group of Temples in the city and attracts tourists from every nook and corner of the world for its exquisite architecture and intricate design. It is known among the best of the Hindu Temples in Khajuraho, the Javari Temple, Khajuraho is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and a famous temple in India.
The elaborate gateway of the Javari Temple in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh is one of its characteristic features. The various sculptures on the walls of the temples depict men and women in various postures. The finesse with which the images have been created imparts life into them. The interior of the Javari Temple, Khajuraho is also covered with exquisite sculptures.

It has well proportioned architecture, with a sanctum, vestibule, mandapa and portico, but without pradakshinapatha. It has remarkable Makara Torana(Capricorn Arch) and shikhara (top). On the outer wall, it has three bands of carved sculptures. With Chaturbhuja Temple, the temple has a close resemblance, also at Khajuraho.
The main idol (of Vishnu) of the temple is broken and headless. At the entrance porch, temple has beautiful Makara (Capricorn) Arch. On the top, the entrance gate of sanctum has sculptures depicting navagraha. Sculpture of the Hindu deities Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva can also be seen along with navagraha sculptures
This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
