Great to see someone so young enjoying what I've done for decades. You are very knowledgeable. That jasper is very pretty stone. And that absolutely looks like a quartz tip that you found. Nice video.
That mustard colored jasper is typical of what's in Vera Cruz Pa. There's a park called Jasper Park there- you can't collect, but its where the native Americans quarried.
Nice video, thanks. I always try to follow even those tiny little feeder creeks all the way up to the end. Often that’s where really good stuff can be found.
Good teaching!!! Perkiomen huh? Collegeville? Skipjack? You need to get out to Monroe county Indiana. Fossils and geodes everywhere. !! I used to find quartz arrowheads in Exton off malin road and ship road in the farm fields.
9:18 archaeologists in the northeast have found that MOST flakes were used even if they don’t look like they were. Almost everything you find is a tool. Congrats. I’d flip if I found flakes like that
@7:24 most definitely a tool. When I was young I must have picked up a hundred blades and tools and threw them back down thinking it was nothing because it was not an arrowhead! Just a small tid bit of advice from an old man...Keep everything, most especially the stuff that "might could be." @2:27 Tip of arrowhead @14:20 knife (Would have been hafted.) Keep up the great work!
Rain means the goodies should show up better. 😂 I just found multiple milk bottles that the rain washed out... Already cleaned and sold in two days...$450.00 day. 😂
Nice Hunt! Quartz points are rare where I’m at, I’ve only found a few broken pieces. That big black piece you found looks like it was a whole point at one time with the top half broken off.
Definitely a quartz tip! I'm from Central Georgia and have several hundred quarts points . We find different kinds of chert and flints but mostly quartz points. Thats a great spot you just need to find where they were camping!
@@PACreekWalker I am, I’m about 45 minutes away from the PA border. Close ish* hah I have not been to Meadowcroft shelter yet! I would love to get there sometime this year as well.
I love the fact that you know where to look and why!! I'm 68 and this young man asked me to teach him how to find Indian artifacts. Hardest part is where to look and WHY.
The marks on the maple tree are Yellow Bellied Sapsucker wells. They are a cool woodpecker! I am also close to the perkiomen and and grew up in Emmaus, gonna do some searching on gravel bars this summer. Loved the vid!
I have walked up on more then a few bad situations looking for relics. Most the time I remained out of sight , but most Definitely need to carry something for self defense, and it is really good to see young people out looking . There are going to be something really good wash out of that sight if she keeps going back .
I'd agree with you that Shagbark Hickory is probably one of my favorite trees. I've had a few that fell and I slabbed them into boards for axe handles and whatnot. It seems you have an area that will produce some nice points. I just sub"d. Happy hunting!
Hunted South Jersey 1970 through 1990 found jasper points, most were argillite, gray purple and red points sugar and vein quartz points all my artifact sites are now gone, retired living in Eastern Tennessee ,looking at my display case with South Jersey points!🤠
@@PACreekWalker I hunted farm fields in Camden Gloucester and Burlington countries, but they still found points in Cape May Beach after a big storm they still find Cape May diamonds ,clear quartz stones,I have one cut and polished got that in 1970🤠
I'm right over the commodore Barry Bridge in south jersey.. I trout fish over in the streams in PA and I'm always looking for points and tools while I'm fishing over there but no luck yet .. it's nice to see that there is artifacts in the creeks not far from where I'm looking, i guess I've just got to keep looking
I drive over that bridge all the time to go to the bay. There has to be stuff down where you are. Especially in streams that dump into such a major river. Don't stop looking, I found my first point after years, when I wasn't even looking
We call it shell bark hickory where I’m from in wv your favorite tree is my least favorite considering I’m a tree climber and they suck to climb lol. But I love that material you’re finding. I usually always find kanawaha black flint. Occasionally some pretty chert. Cool content tho!
You are awesome! Boy would i be surprised to see you huntn along lol. I hunt the same creek & surrounding areas & counties. Points are tough finding in the perk but they are there, try closer to the res. I have more luck in fields in this area. For every point ive found here in the creeks i find pocketfuls of flakes and tools first. Slow hunting here but some honey holes around, it def aint missouri. Good luck! Subbed
I call it flint, from flint knapping. At least thats what i leaned from the old timers. So cool ive found another lady rockhound who hunts alone. I found something yesterday that I still cannot believe. But surely you know how it is not being able to put it on blast 😭 Perhaps it will be named in honor of me someday? Anyway, its raining today and here's another good find right here on UA-cam. Something relaxing and enjoyable for me. Good job girl. Gotta find em before they're gone. Be well
what beautiful yellow jasper that was! im a bottle digger trying to get more into artifact hunting. thanks for the video. p.s. hope you grabbed that sweet pot on your way out! :)
Remember that song about looking for love in the wrong places. Thats you. Looking for arrowheads in the wrong places.. Any native settlements in your area would be relatively small (50-100), recent, and nomadic. The best places to look are in Missouri and Tennessee and south. In warmer climates native settlements were much, much larger, and somewhat permanent. Find a good creek in Arkansas and you will 100 arrowheads in the same amount of searching time. You cant even find one arrowhead. Start looking in the right places.
False. The perkiomem was settled for thousands of years. It was a highway as well as settled. It may not be loaded like other places but they are certainly there in the perk.
IDK You video was great but either bring some tissue, paper towel, your sleeve. Either that or work on your snot rocket skills for sure. Keep them coming.
Or you can keep your thoughts to yourself. This young woman is making this video and editing and sharing it for her obvious love of the outdoors and ancient history. Work on your own snot rocket.
I haven't had the heart to sell anything I've found, I am emotionally attatched to all of them. Although scrapers are a dime a dozen to me, no problem parting with those!

Thank you! Nice to hear!
I'd love to find a quartz point, and I'd have had a hard time leaving that pot behind too😄
