Triple expansion engine. Very interesting. Good shots of the endings and instruments. What a splendid afternoon. Lovely old boat. Looks like the weather is doing okay for you. Rob
Rob McCrain The very same! Certainly is a lovely vestal! Was really pleased that the engine itself could be see very well from the deck. ;) Sure was an excellent trip! We where very lucky with the weather for this one too. Glad you enjoyed!
Hi , went on it last year and as a retired gas & oil boiler engineer it was fascinating being able to see into a working engine room . The scenery was wonderful such a nice part of Scotland . Cheers.......Peter.
Peter Shaw It sure is a lovely vestal! Though such beautiful scenery too! Yes, was wonder what she was running on. It said Smokeless Fuel, so guessing it would be either gas, oil (though they mentioned about spill a few year back, so not to sure about that) or could it be powdered fuel? Glad you enjoyed!
SDJR7F88 Hi , just looked back on my photos and it looks like an oil pump on the side of the burner . Should have asked the engineer , oh dear I'll have to look this up now .....Peter.
RockyRailroad Productions Thanks mate she sure is! She's has three cylinders, though the other two are hard to see. One big, one medium and one small one. Was an excellent trip and highly recommend!
SDJR7F88 Well made too, there are some steamboat engines in museums that outlasted the vessels themselves! On that note, a real shame is that a paddle tug called Reliant was broken up when the museum that owned it renovated, although one paddle wheel and engine are on display somewhere else.
Nice one Callum , great scenery as you say , just need a bit more sun ..typical holiday weather ...you enjoy the rest of your holiday..just one thing ..how did you take the trip on the 8th August ???? ...LOL ..Dave
***** Thanks Dave! It certainly is beautiful! We were very lucky with the weather for the day too. Will do! Ah, see what you mean, corrected the date in the description ;)
Excellent video Callum, is she wood fired like our South Aussie Paddle Steamer Oscar W or coal fired? Those mountains are sooooo green, I was imagining those mountains could have a steam train going around, following the Loch or even inspiration for a very sophisticated mountain model railway. Has got me thinking this video has and my imagination has gone to the moon and back, have to show mum this vid in the morning.
C.W.Jenkins Rail Films Thanks again mate! Nether, she's now powered by smokeless fuel. Not sure if it is a oil or powder. Ah yes, sadly I would need to go up a bit further up Scotland to see that, the line which 'The Jacobite' runs on, where they filmed Harry Potter. Ohhh, I wonder what plans you have... ;)
A resplendent looking ship! Some amazing views on the lake as well.
TheSoutherner Thanks mate! She sure is a beauty! The scenery is outstanding! Highly recommend a trip on her! Glad you enjoyed!
Lovely video - I was there in April! We stayed a few minutes away in that castle!
Cheers,
Sam
Sam'sTrains Thanks Sam! Ohhh, I know the one! We passed it on the way there! Sure was a superb little pleasure cruise!

RockyRailroad Productions Thanks mate she sure is! She's has three cylinders, though the other two are hard to see. One big, one medium and one small one. Was an excellent trip and highly recommend!
Oh, one of those lovely triple-expansion compounds! I've seen that sort of marine engine in miniature at many a steam show!
Try are excellent little engines for getting the most out of the steam ;) Really clever engineering indeed!

Humbolt136 She sure is a fine vestal! Highly recommend. I bet she does, was surprised what good value it is to take a trip. Highly recommend!
