I bought Belisle's and they are awesome traps! Got some nuisance Beavers that are damming up a drainage area and they are backing up waters into homeowners back yards. They got to go! Really appreciate your videos. Very informative and much appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you sir. If anyone has any ideas for subjects to cover - just let me know. I'm planning on doing a Simple Sets - Snaring (Land and water snaring) and Simple Sets Foot holds (blind sets, pockets, etc.).
Great video. As always thank you for sharing your knowledge. Had a beaver take off w a snare. Taught me to use 2 double ferrules where it meets the swivel. Took the1x19 cable from off my trap swivel. J hook was still bent closed
Yep - good lesson learned. Amazing how they can exploit any weakness in our gear. I once lost a beaver in a small pond like that. Caught him a week later still wearing the snare. That's the kind of experience that only comes from doing. It never ceases to amaze me how all the arm chair survivalists think they are going to trap animals with picture wire and shoe laces. Thanks for watching my friend and hope you have a great season!
Great video and good catch buddy...The newbie's will learn from this for sure...I love the cross over...I like that clip you have for the extra safety...
Thanks! I've had a lot of emails from new trappers asking how to get started and what to do first, so I decided to do a series on very simple but effective sets.
this year is my first year for beaver trapping. i took 6 beavers in just 3 days, with only 8 sets i think that was great. could not of done it without your videos. thanks you put out great videos and take care
+James Reynolds I buy them. My welding skills are pretty rough. The safety is available at www.fntpost.com/Products/Safety+Grips/Body+Grip+Trap+Safety+Pin
I will take Sleepy Creek any day. Duke traps are OK, They work, but in my experience you have to spend time tuning them and working with them to get things just right; whereas the Sleepy Creeks are right out of the box. Of course, they cost more. The real question is which do you have more of - time or money? In my case, my time is very limited so I prefer to spend a little more and not have to fool with the traps. There is no right or wrong answer - just personal preference. Thanks for watching.
i had a bad accented actually 3 weeks ago with a 330 wer it caught me across the knuckles around trust me man i still got no feeling in my hand still, and it blew up the blood vessels in my hand. didnt break any of my figures but got nerve damage for life in it doc said but thats why you must be careful with a 330 man. im still trapping but got a better respect for the trap now.
I am really sorry to hear that! Last year I caught my finger in a Belisle 220. It took almost 6 months for the feeling to return - but it did return. I know it hurts, but be patient my friend - I believe your feeling will return - but it will be a long time. I hope everything works out, and yes, it does give you a deep respect for the trap.
The Meat Trapper thats actuly why i write that man. when you said you got your hand stuck in a 220 in the video i wanted to give a example for people to give the 330 body grips more respeck. for me i moved a blade of grase out the side of the trap and it went off. you must be carfule with those traps man.

Thanks - that clip fits the Belisles where a lot of the others don't. You look like you've been hammering the beav's up there pretty good so far.
Great video and nice beaver catch. Later and good luck with the rest of your season.
Thanks! Really enjoyed your bear snaring series.
Good job buddy. Should be a good series for ya.
Thanks Boss. I've got about 2 more weeks before I get serious about it. Hope things are good up your way.

thank you for the quick response
what is your recommendation for someone just starting out? should i start with snares? or something else?
Conibears are the easiest to learn with if they are legal in your state.
Hey Meat trapper how do I contact you. I've got some questions for you about trapping. I have very little experience but I want to start trapping.
