  • My move to Colombia and my parent's move from WA to FL happened at the same time. We moved cross country from Seattle to Tampa in less than a week. We got to explore landmark's we never visited before, crash motels at 4am to a few hours of sleep before hitting the road again, all with 6 people and a dog! What an experience. Here I show you what places we drove passed and where we stopped to take in breathtaking views. Highly recommend a road trip like this at least once in your lifetime!

    A really well-made video. You made the whole trip interesting to watch. I loved your dog and especially how he made sure he was not going to be left behind by lying on your stuff while you were loading the truck, lol. Smart dog!

    Your sister was handling that truck. We are moving to Vegas from MD at the end of the year and plan on renting with Penske. I’m nervous about driving the truck Specially if we run into bad weather, the biggest I’ve driven was a van. The scenario was amazing, I love that you guys took time to enjoy it.

      That’s a big move! I didn’t drive but my sister and husband did and it was their first time driving a thing that size so I’m sure you’ll be fine! Definitely look into how the weather will be throughout different parts of the country. We liked moving in September because no snow ❄️ if possible, take the time to enjoy the trip stopping wherever and whenever you want. Best of luck!!

    Wow, what a journey!!! Although I think I would rather live in Washington state over Florida just because of the weather and scenery.

    I’ll be moving to Florida from Seattle as well, hopefully at the end of summer 22.
    I can’t wait for sunny days and warm weather.

      I really do miss all the 4 seasons but having the sun and “swimmable” beach nearby is a plus. Good luck to your new adventure!

    Thanks for the video. I’m going to Miami from Maryland to drop off for international shipping. Now I feel like I can do! Omgoodness. I too am moving to Colombia! Bogota though hence the international shipping. 🌱

    Penske is now the most expensive BUT they have the nicest trucks Budget was thousands cheaper but they are so rickety like I cannot take my child cross country in that thing, We are getting out of Washington finally too clear across and I am nervous but watching other people helps!

      That’s great to hear! Honestly I don’t think I would have done it myself but luckily my sister and husband (who both had zero experience with trucks that’s size!) got the courage and did just fine 😃 Congratulations on your new life adventure 💕 I sure do miss WA though!

    Thank you so much for the video. We are planning to move cross the country too and this helps me a lot 😊 I have one question - how did you park at the hotel? Was enough space for moving trucks?

      So happy for you! It was honestly a trip I would do over again because it was so fun. Since we went with the flow and didn’t have a set itinerary, we reserved our hotels through the AAA app or orbitz the same day we planned on staying. And none of the hotels/motels gave us trouble when parking the truck. We were able to park in the less crowded spaces and where we could also keep an eye on it. Have an amazing trip!

    Did you have to stop at any weigh stations? I’m driving a uhaul from Stanwood Washington to Georgia

    • @getitjuli
      @getitjuli  Рік тому +1

      Not at all! Just drove normally. No weigh stations necessary for our size vehicle and I think since it’s not for commercial use, it is not required. Have a fun and safe trip!

      Hola! Apenas vi el comentario 🙈 Nosotros nos demoramos una semana y eso que aprovechamos a ver Yellowstone y Mt Rushmore. Hubiéramos querido conocer más pero teníamos que llegar rápido a la Florida por temas de viajes.
      Después de más de 30 años viviendo mis papás en Seattle, se retiraron y decidieron quedar más cerca a Colombia ❤️ Como te fue en tu mudanza?

      @@getitjuli Nos tomo 4 dias. Pero no usamos un uhaul. Mas bien fuimos en mi truck con la ropa y algunos articulos.
