Still crying ! 🥹
the 90s were definitely a thing, I wish I was there...

Same, man. Same.
The biggest thing I remember growing up in the 90's is I will never forget where I was when I heard Kurt Cobain had died.
I want 90s clothing fashion to come back 😂
I love you.....REM😢
for those who dont know s80 and s90 .it was the great time for music in all world . who born in 2000 sorry for you hhhh
Not funny 👹
2024 this song still a banger! Old school music never dies!!!😎😎😎👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🫡🫡🫡
Right !
agree...talent never dies!
I never liked this song and never will. It's depressing, crybaby song, hear it 10.000.0000 times on the radio. I don't think the singer ever likes it.
Brasil 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I miss good music, the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Me too, I miss when Europe was christian
@@Gontran_Courtjoie same

It's not.
I just can’t with the clapping I just can’t
Wait which clapping? Stipe’s or the crowd? If you mean the crowd I’m totally with you. I’m sure they’re being hyped up by the producers of the show but it’s way overdone for such a melancholy song lol.
you guys will never know what music is about. Literallyeverybody was clapping, the sound producers didnt do sh!+. You know how hard is that? How hard is to get everyone sing and jump and enjoy your song? American and some european crowds are the coldest public you can perform to, you will never understand the real spirit of a live perfomance.
On the 2 and the 4 please.
same, I hate when the audience claps, they never stay on beat and if they do it still sounds terrible
@@emilcioran7160 ok clapper. also they're miming in this performance
wow great memories of that year and that album. Amnd how come this is in such great quality? So much stuff of this vintage on youtube looks like it was filmed in the age of steam
If anyone is wondering the mystery 5th member on guitar is Peter Holsapple wearing the hat
Oh life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper, of every waking hour
I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this the slip
That brought me to my knees, failed
What if all these fantasies come
Flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
Try, cry, fly, try
That was just a dream
Just a dream
Just a dream, dream
SUPER MELODI🤩🤩🤩
90s is the best real artist...same like Nirvana eras
Feels like heaven
Stipe was so cool circa 1991.
Takes me back to living in the SF Bay area, in tech! Cool & happneing area, then.
One of my fav songs of the past, even rocking some clubs I hit with bass remixes. Timeless song that will be loved forever man

Wow beautiful song and a magical voice. Simply outstanding!

Brilliant use of Mandolin! I always liked the sound of Mandolins!

that's music who in 2024, Eso es música quien en 2024 🎵🎹🎶
still a great song and a great band...too bad this isn't live.
I don't like the live version as much, the note he hits on the lines "losing my religion", "and you are not me", etc, combined with the chord that the mandolin plays is amazing on the studio version and for some reason he refuses to sing those notes that make the studio version so powerful
I LOVE.
This song burns here in Brazil.
Me as child just balbuciava. Hoje em dia olhamos pra trás e vemos o poder dessa canção.
Losing my religion is a mostly southern US expression that means losing your temper.getting angry.
Muchas religiones.
PASARAN AÑOS AÑOS Y SIEMPRE SERA MUSICA DE ALTO NIVEL

Definitely not live
REM should still be touring and releasing music, miss TF outta of them!

Love MB 🥰
Watch how the live vocals match the recording. Amazing
Lipsync or dubbed. Not live
@@ChuckLopez lip synced
Yeah, sounds way too good to be live.
1000% no question about it. Lip sync but in their defense they wouldn't have had a choice. It would have been part of doing this big for this show. Not saying he could have always performed it live perfectly. I'm just suggesting that yes this is lip synced. But yes it also probably wasn't their choice to do it. They were probably told they had to
@@TheCompdept Still makes this a dogshit performance. If it's not live it's not worth doing.
One of the first bands that I got into aged about 12 with their in time album and one of my favourite bands still now in my 30s ..love REM always ❤
Prachtog ultiem popliedje, nog altijd.
It sounds almost exactly like the album version, crazy how good they were live!
that was a phonogram, dude
@@darbymgrraw What does that even mean?
Countdown always had prerecorded tracks :/
playback my friend. All the songs that you can see from this countdown show were playback. Try with different bands, you´ll notice the same "exactly like the album version"
@@jeresosa9744 Really? That's lame.
Anthem for that era....

Tem músicas que são imortais
My favorite R.E.M. song followed by "It's the End of the World As We Know it", "Orange Crush", "King of Comedy" then "Everybody Hurts."
Let me guess: your favorite a-ha song is "Take On Me." Your favorite Queen song is "Bohemian Rhapsody." Your favorite Radiohead song is "Creep." 🤣
Sorry, just busting balls. Nothing but love for another R.E.M. fan.
Can't forget Fall On Me,which is Michael Stipe's favorite song and mine as well
Esta canción gusta a todas las generaciones..... Leyends

Anthem of the 90s
Eccelente 👍🖐️👌
One of the best songs ever writen
One of the odd ones for sure...
I love when musicians sing/play their songs as opposed to lip syncing the production tracks. Truly shows their talent and abilities.
This performance was lip-synced
LMAO, this shit is lip synched
I hope you're trolling but I'm positive that you're not so there's that... This is 1,000% lip sync and this is not me attacking them or their ability is a band to even though they might need to be attacked. The truth is this show would have made them lip sync the song and it is absolutely lip sync
REM went from playing Pizza Parlors and small Pubs to becoming the biggest band in the world at one time! An amazing gradual climb to the top! Their first album Murmer was a good start with song Radio Free Europe and then they slowly got better and better with each album until the broke through with Green. Green as in Greenbacks they were raking in! A perfect album and then Out of Time which was even better and then they were headlining all around the world! 🌎 At one point they signed a deal for $70 million. That’s heady stuff for a band from Athens! Now they’re legends!
Those 3 albums are my favorites plus New Adventures in HiFi! 😊
Great Crowd!
When I had just acquired a second hand bass guitar, I think this was one of the first songs I attempted to play, so fond memories 👍🏼❤
hell yeah

What a great performance. I really love them!
Great mime artists
@@alexisc4922it's normal to use playback for TV performances for technical reasons
@@josiplozic962 No it's not, they just did this back then because they were worried about people hearing mistakes, there is no technical reason to use playback. Most artists don't do full mime performances anymore.
