    The "Tested Components" sticker is an FCC certification that none of the components will cause any radio interference. It has nothing to do with the actual operation of the system.

    • @SpencerPetaluma
      @SpencerPetaluma 3 роки тому +28

      Agreed. To wit, the graphics drivers would not be up to date if they had not turned it on.

    • @derangel9143
      @derangel9143 3 роки тому +12

      @@SpencerPetaluma That's not really an indication of it being turned on. SIs use customized Windows installations that have all relevant drivers and software baked into the install. The image is simply copied onto the drive. This can all be done before the drive is even installed in the case. Another comment mentioned this potentially being a returned unit, due to the missing mouse pad and packing foam. If that is the case, it could explain the fully updated drivers. It's entirely possible this is not how the system came from iBuyPower.

Technically that thing could be illegal to operate in the US if it was somehow worse than the sum of its parts. Channelwell (CWT) has made good power supplies in the past. They are OEM suppliers for many brands such as Corsair and others. If I recall the Corsair 650W CXM as well as some of their TX series were built by CWT. As you know, Corsair actually does not make any of their power supplies but contracts other manufacturers to make them (same with other "brands" except Seasonic). The actual PSU manufacturing companies include Fortron Source (FSP), Channelwell (CWT), Seasonic, SuperFlower and Enermax to name a few. So it seems Ibuypower skipped the middleman company and went straight to the actual manufacturer to help reduce cost, which may be a smart move.

I basically wanted something newer to get me by for the next year at 1080p gaming for a year
    I got a MSI Ageis at Walmart for $799 USD
    Had a single stick of 8 gig memory, a 256 WD green ssd, 1 tb WD blue HDD, a basic MSI intel motherboard, 10th Gen f series intel i5 and a MSI Ventus OC 1660 Super gpu...

    The Assembled from tested components sticker is an FCC sticker. The FCC is an American regulatory agency that oversees many things including radio wave communications. The sticker is claiming that all components inside the PC have been evaluated individually to FCC requirements (i.e. won't make a satellite crash or mess with police radios). The assembly of the components has not been evaluated (but it is most certainly acceptable). Basically, they were too cheap to pay the ~$10K USD to get the system evaluated to FCC standards.
