I'm also in my 60s and *mostly* not a fan of rap - at least the "gangsta" stuff because it's usually so negative and vulgar. (Gotta admit I did kinda like Gangsta's Paradise, though.) I recently discovered country-infused rap, which I like to call redneck rap, and there is a huge difference. Stuff by folks like Colt Ford, Big SMO, The Lacs, and a few others is often about wholesome values like God, hard work, family, and patriotism. Plus, you often hear real drums (instead of a phony electronic percussion sound) and some lead guitar. I am somewhat a fan of John Rich and most of what I've heard from Tom McDonald is thematically worthwhile. This song/video is no exception, and they make a good duo.

As John sings the chorus I get chills/teary eyed every darn time… thinking back to the late 80’s when I was just a little kid. The 🌎 was indeed so different! It was my grandad’s /papaw’s world! 😢Myself only being around 5) I still remember all his life stories about escaping the Bataan Death March with his buds by only 20 mins! Rescuing people from the water in WW2. His hands got burned from the ropes/salt water. I still remember the funniest story about when my dad & mom 1st started dating. I had become a fan of writing hiphop and rap lines. Tho I wrote Guitar and EDM. I started training my self in poetry and lyrics. My Coach taught me how to be inspired but I realized when I lay music the lines just fall i place so perfectly. Music is actually a product of Muse and Djinn if it is not a Religious message than it is very easy to channel something else.. This is why so much music has satanic themes. Its not a theory anymore. Just like T Mac video where he mentioned the bible.. Nice line there son~!! I also ust heard Big and Toms song SAVE A HORSE RIDE A COWBOY!! I never kew there was a country music I would like. But the lines John says in that song on the bridge about the pride. It was amazing to ee where T Mac got his inspiration. Thanking baby sister aye Tom?
