As an American fan, each season I start to catch CFL highlights and I think to myself damn that field is huge. Once the NFL kicks off, I think damn that feel the small.
Wait, I only now realized one thing about this game. Reggie White Jr was seriously injured on October 10, 2022 Als home game against Ottawa Redblacks. 620 days later he came back for the first time since injury to play against Ottawa (the team that he was injured playing against). And he scored 2 TDs. Awesome story.
Amazing game I expect the league gonna be watching a lot of Al footages. Calvillo is the perfect QB (and Off) coach for Fajardo. Other than foot speed.. Hehe.. I see a lot of similarities.
I remember a time last season before the Allouettes got hot and went on the championship run, I made the comments that Cody Fajardo was really scuffling. Well Cody is on another level now and having Tyson Philpot don't hurt either. But Cody from the tail end of last season is playing MVP type ball and is making the Allouettes look unstoppable
Exactly right ✅️ 😊. Especially when the missed FG 's recover by the other team and the team who tried for 3,ends up with a single (1point)! Same for kicking into the end zone, that is a single point too. NFL, uh-uh. CFL, cool fun league
I love Montréal, the Alouettes, and McGill. I've seen several games there when traveling. Still, it's odd for a professional team to play on a field not only without the team identifiers but also with a college logo.
Sweet *JESUS,* Montreal just absolutely *slaughtered* Ottawa. Granted, the RedBlacks finally found their rhythm in the 4th, but mother of GOD did they not look good. Did they even show up for the first half? Sheesh, Als, if you’re gonna go THAT rough, it’s considered mandatory to use lube and give your partner a reach-around!
YES! Great observation. The OL stepped up a notch this season. Not that powerful to open breaches for the running game... but VERY stable in the trenches in protection. Fajardo is a pocket QB and that works oh so well.
1. Montreal is quality!. Terrific QB and a ferocious defence. 2. Ottawa is still a mess. 3. 11-0 going back to las season....will Als ever lose another game?
"...biggest thing for Drew Brown in his debut with the red blacks turnover free that'll be huge here tonight against a tough crowd in Montreal..." 1:1. Well that didn't last long into the game. If the RedBlacks could have played the whole game like they player in the 3rd quater they might have stood a chance. Not one but 2 clippings missed by the refs on Deamons return. But that's OK the RedBlacks need those points. 9:42 Cody should have got called on intentional grounding. Not that it would have made a difference in the way the game ended but I would like to see better reffing. I'm not a RedBlacks fan but I kinda felt sorry for them as this game started off with them not being able to get anything done and although they fought back they just couldn't stop the Als.
@@TheAlienAbides from what I’ve heard the kicking team gets awarded a single point when they miss a field goal, or when they punt the ball and the returning team doesn’t exit their end zone. It’s gonna take me a bit to get used to the CFL🤣
@@kennethmorrison7689 teams also don't fire their best franchise kicker after one and a half missed kicks in their second game....some people need to chill out
You're serious? Ward is great. First miss (that was called off due to the penalty) was because Lewis push a ball a bit too much to the right. Second... it's the snapper's fault, ball was either overrotated or underrotated and Ward kicked on the laces. So I won't blame the kicker on his teammates not doing great as well.
The ALS look good! A lot of positives for the Red blacks too!! But those horrible air horns have to go, cheering and clapping is harder to play against than those stupid things
The Ottawa team is fundamentally flawed the defence not enough pressure coverage is bad you can't ask your offense to outscore other teams if I was the GM of Ottawa I would take apart this team in the off-season and start from scratch
Does anyone on that coaching staff for Redblacks knows how to play man with only a 2 foot cushion between receiver this zone assignment is dumb ass hell---- play more man with a safery over the top help at all times
I had to stop watching this game. Those idiots blowing those stupid horns should be banned from games. Use your voice or your hands to cause noise for the opposing offence. The noise got so irritating that I just had to quit watching. The ALS are for real. They're a great team. Don't cheapen the product by allowing such obnoxious sound pollution!!!
Holy smokes Als are for real! I was fairly confident the first couple games but this was a whole new level from them!
Agree back to back just like 2009 and 2010 🤞
I attended this game, one of the best performances by the Als that i've witnessed!
How was the atmosphere? The fans looked like they were rockin

Fajardo is on another level this season, watch out for the Aloutlettes man they have the whole entire package , coming from a Bombers fan
I agree with you. The Als look scary. And I am an Argo fan.
@@richardleslie904 they all look extremely motivated to go back for another title, we will see how the season goes !
Agreed, from a life long Stamps fan.
The Als defence was just relentless, this team may be looking at a second banner, right now they are the class of the league.

NFL, 4 tries to get that first down. We only need 3. Our league is far more airborne.
Yes indeed
Should’ve picked Fajardo for my fantasy team this week 😩
To think, the Toronto Argonauts released both Fajardo and Collaros.
Alouettes: Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champions.

Kinda feel bad for Ottawa - they're clearly working some things out. What a performance from Cajardo and team.

At least Ottawa gave us the first kick return TD of the season with DeVonte Dedmon running for 101 yards.
Ottawa could have kept it close in the second half but settled for FG attempts instead of TDs
@@smokindragn1 Nah... they were not able to score TDs. At least they wanted some points.
I picked the Als DEF but should’ve gotten Fajardo and Philpot as well… 😢
Someone show the Redblacks how a bloody blitz works!

Them Als though 👀🔥

I mean... it's part of the course for the Als' home game. They're making the opponent uncomfortable.
It's like Mississippi State home games where they use their cowbells non-stop.
And that crowd is what makes Als' home games so exciting. You clearly don't understand the significance of fans activity.
I like the CFL but gave this a MUTE and a thumb down for the horns.
Montreal home games still annoying to watch. Gotta get rid of those horns.
