Thank You...this was beautiful.............and the movie with Mako (wonderful actor) was called "The Challenge". It took me 20 years to get a copy. It was the very first of the 70's Movie of the Week series.
Damn you! You just made me cry a little bit. I koved that man. As a kid I always looked forward to anything he acted in. The Kolchak Tapes was my favorite TV show. He was a truely great Hollywood actor. God rest his soul.
No one who grew up in the 60s can remember a week going by that DM wasn't on the tube in one role or another. Great actor.. memorable performances. Thanks for uploading.
He started out by hitchhiking to California did odd jobs washing dishes then painting movie sets when he approached a director about a bit part. He walked in for the role through studio front gate and his painting boss told him he was fired. He got an agent went to acting school part time rest is history. He really was a very naturally talented actor who happened to work hard at his craft and was popular with fans as he had loads of charisma.
Thanks for a lovely tribute. I had the pleasure of. meeting McGavin & Browne in NYC. They were a fantastic couple and left us many wonderful TV appearances
Outstanding actor. Loved him in a Christmas story. Love that movie. And night slacker. Always in throuble with his boss over creepy details of murder. Monsters of every kind. Miss watching in movies. Rest in peace Gavin. You left us with lots of memories.
Thanks indeed n YES, Daren was NOT an ordinary man n his parents did NOT realized they have produced kind of son, but the orphanages life (3) ALSO should be give big credit that shaped him n might have had if unappreciative parents were with him. RIP Daren n all of us fan, later found out about U, including me missing Ur wonderful acting indeed!
You did a beautiful job with this tribute! I really enjoyed seeing the collection of photo's you gathered. He was a wonderfully talented actor- such personality is a rare thing. He is greatly missed! Thankfully he left behind a great wealth of memories for us all to enjoy!
One of my all time favorite actors...all he did was A-1 ...he played a couple of very excellent role in Gunsmoke, one of them as a bad guy who saved Matt Dillon's life. I loved his series, "Riverboat." Your music score is great too on this...wl
omg at 4:34 he's in a pic with MAKO... japanese actor of Conan the Barbarian, Hawaii 5-0 and Avatar: Last Airbender fame. Rest in Absolute Peace, both of you.
@ymcgavin Your Dad was always one of my favoritges when i was growing up,and he still is,although mos of my exposure to him earlier in life was from his Night Stalker days. It made me look for more of his work in other films and TV,and i enjoy those now as well. Only Darren McGavin could get away with telling Vincent Price''Shut up,ya old fart!'',as he did in the film Dead Heat. Your Dad was truly one of a kind, and he is sorely missed. God bless you.
@BaronVonBlixberg I loved him in 'Kolchak' and he always brought something special to the party. Just been catching some Mike Hammers but what was the clip in the middle of him and his erstwhile boss Tony Vincenzo taken from, he looks far too smart to be Kolckak!
Very nice work, Baron... I loved Mr McGavin's work also. I would LOVE to see his episodes of THE OUTSIDER once again. Any idea where they can be gotten?
Not conventionally handsome, but so much character in his face. His wife was in my fav. episode "In the blink of an eye," STOS. Strange to think she was devoted to Kolchak and not Kirk.
I for one feel sorry, unless they were happy there were, WHY Katie (Brownie) McGaven NEVER produced EVEN one child, I wonder? Did she, Kathie, had child bearing problem so they, Kathie N Daren, were so much in love, they do NOT wanted any child? I wonder?
Great actor.Thank you.*****
An actor's actor. Always great. And handsome.
Nice tribute a one of a kind actor.
The man was gorgeous. He couldnt take a bad picture. Loved him as Capt of the first Enterprise!

Great actor. Handsome man. Got better looking as he aged.

McGavin's presence, and voice, are pretty much unforgetable. A worthy collection of images here, nicely put together. Thanks kindly.
Truly a unique personality and you could tell he enjoyed his profession. Thank you.

He was one of my faves, too. He deserved more acclaim. He was something special. Thanks for this tribute.
A great man and an awesome actor
That's a nice tribute
Well..I'm flattered that you liked my video....Darren McGavin lives on in the hearts of his many fans. :)

Thanks Great tribute to a great actor... We'll always remer him around Christmas time when TBS plays round the clock "Christmas Story."
Blessings,
Len
A true legend. I miss him.
Darren McGavin and Robert Culp, my two favorite TV actors of all time. Both tragically underrated and sadly unsung.
omg at 4:34 he's in a pic with MAKO... japanese actor of Conan the Barbarian, Hawaii 5-0 and Avatar: Last Airbender fame. Rest in Absolute Peace, both of you.
Darren McGavin made everything he was in better.

I couldn't agree with you more...
Longest contract actor in the History of Hollywood...( Google that shit ) on my way to make it happen....
Been 10 years many McGavin out there huh 🤔

Love X
1:08 Two great Trans Am drivers!
Nice but I didn't see "By Dawns early light" though.
