The UV lamp or flashlight sets it up in seconds. The pie is not one you need to do in layers.
The longer cure time is for sunlight.
It's Diner like a restaraunt. It's foods you might get out at a Diner.
You can use an exacto knife to carefully open the seal on the resin. And you can poke a hole in the bottom of the bottle/jar to make the resin come out a little faster.
Once you get the hang of it you can start to get more fancy with it.
There is a creator named Simona Julietta who does Decoden (KawaiiDecoden). She makes these and uses them on Decoden cases if people ask for them.

Am I the only one screaming at this video? Has Bunny never heard of or worked with resin? When she first started talking about curing the pie, I was immediately asking, "What about the topping?"

I was mad the whole video 😭 but I've never worked with resin, it was just COMMON SENSE of how things work lol
I love bunny so much but she stresses me out lmfao. Like she goes she doesn't know how it works yet they give you instruction manuals that say "READ ME FIRST" and she tosses it to the side then she gets lost of how to do it hahaha sometimes it super hard to watch her
@@nikkienix884 eh, she's a free spirit. She likes learning as she goes and making mistakes to learn from. I am a fellow lover of instructions and precision, but I find her carefree experimentation endearing. Instructions while making art aren't for everyone!
There are 2 types of Make it Miniverse, the pink ones are 'Diner' and the turquoise ones are 'Cafe'. The Cafe ones are smaller capsules and slightly lower cost.
Also they don't come with a table
Also if you looked at the bags they came in, it has dotted lines where you can cut to make them grocery bags!

Loved this video, and just as an FYI, if you do gel nails, and have a clear gel nail top coat, that will work as a "glue" for something like this, so your toppings won't sink :)

The 10 min timer on the paper means if you put it in direct sun uv rays but with a uv light it takes a lot less time ❤
i have bought sooooo many of these diner and cafe series balls lol you get so many extra pieces so you can create all kinds of different items if you get repeats. i went crazy making them
'Dinner' is the last meal of the day/supper, while 'Diner' is a place you go to eat, usually serving what they call "american diner" food

I've never been interested in the mini verse mystery capsules, but as soon as I saw the first video of Nerdecrafter doing one of these, I had to get one lol. I don't collect miniature anything so I have no idea what I'm going to do with the one that I have, but it was definitely fun.

Seems like the times provided are just for setting it out in the sun. But with how popular resin crafts have become, they definitely should have provided times when using a UV lamp. I think the UV lamp is more concentrated so it caused the resin to cure faster than it should have. Feels like an oversight not to include UV lamp times or instructions.
Kept expecting Bunny to realize it was diner halfway through because no one eats pie for dinner 😅

The “toppings” won’t sink with a curing lamp. It pretty much starts to cure the second you put it in the lamp. Hope that helps a little. Oh also try using tweezers to hold the toppings. 😊
Follow the directions girl. Lol I personally take the whip cream around the edges in a circle and then put the limes in the center. That's me everyone came make there's anyway they want but the directions do give an example of how to put the toppings on .

I bought one of these for my 8 year old daughter a couple weeks ago. It was one of the Turquoise ones. We had no idea it was a resin activity. We thought it was like mini brands. ( my daughter collects those) We were pleasantly surprised. I have been doing resin art for about a year and am still learning. It was great fun. Even her big Sister (16) wanted to help. I didn't know there was any others besides the Turquoise ones. Thanks for letting me know. I will definitely gave to look out for the pink ones. So far we had a cinnamon rolls one and a cereal one. We have yet to do the cereal one. It's been raining so I ordered a uv flashlight that just came today.

Next time if you need more resin as a 'glue' you can use any clear top coat gel polish. I believe the 10 min cure time is if you're using sunshine, the lamps cure much quicker.
I would've put the lines and whipped topping in a pattern on top personally lol it's still cute though!

I think where you went wrong is the time in the instructions was for curing in sunlight, not concentrated uv light. I can't imagine that it'd take more than even a minute under a uv lamp.
It's like real cooking. It doesn't always come out like the picture. I think it has more character when it comes out however.

I’m laughing so hard because I had a hell of a time taking those seals off those mini jars as well.
Use the flashlight uv and tweezers at the same time to add the toppings where you want, so it's curing a little but not cured fully so you can add the toppers where you want, and then they stay where you want. Hope that makes sense. Also it's diner and dinner. Diner is the restaurant. Dinner is the meal.

DINE-r... like a 50's style Diner. You don't need to cure it for long at all with a UV lamp. I think you were overthinking it a little bit....which is okay because it's new and different. =) They say 10 minutes because when a kid does this craft they will more than likely put it out in the sun to cure which will take it longer.

i bought about 50 of the diner balls and i didn't get a single set of pancakes in all those balls, they are the rarest of all the diner items
Bunny, the liquid sets top down, so the top could be set but underneath could be liquid still in some way, thats why you set it for a longer time and thats why you set it in stages to get the liquid to set completely but also to set a layer to lay the other toppings on, hope this helps for your next one!

NerdeCrafter filled the bottom of her pie shell with a bunch of the lime pieces, that way the shell looked fuller and so the toppings wouldn't sink down.

Dinner and Diner are in fact spelled differently. Key Lime Pie is certainly an item you would find at a Diner. We need a do-over on this, my OCD was triggered when all the resin was poured and cured at the same time! lol

The gelish lamp is pretty strong so your cure time will be a lot less.

Hey Bunny! You are sooooo cute! Diner is pronounced die ner and is a little restaurant where you'd stop in to have a piece of pie or a milkshake...dinner is what you would have to eat as your 3rd meal of the day! And the "liquid ingredient" is called resin! Lol You can also put the resin in hot or warm water to thin it out and make it thinner and easier to pour. Rubbing alcohol is a good thing to use to clean off the resin.

i remember growing up, my grandma always had a doily for everything. she passed recently but i want to keep her doilies. so to answer your question yes. i do think of them. often. :)
I think you would want to use only some of the resin at a time, then cure it and then build on top. At least with the taller things. this one probably could have been done all at once.
I'm just not sure that the half curing is a way you can go 🤷

So when using ur light it doesn’t take a even a min to cure. If u let it sit in sun then that’s when u give it more time. So glad it turned out. They are fun. My daughter and I have done a few.

You can set the bottle of resin in a warm cup of water to spread it easily. Also. So that the your decorations dont sink into the pie, you should do a thin layer of resin. Cure, then add more resin, decorate, then cure again. Layers.

If you have clear gel polish you can use that
The “5-10 min” cure is for the sun, that’s why there’s a picture of the sun, they aren’t telling you directions for a uv light. Also, you’re supposed to fully cure the first layer then put a second layer and add the toppings into the second layer of uncured liquid. They won’t sink fast or far enough while curing it the second time. It is possible to over cure the resin by putting it in for that long, that’s why it’s sticky… They also give you enough limes and whip cream to make it look like the picture using all of them, which would look a lot better. 😅

I have tried to make things with uv resin and of you get a uv light 365nm version works well also the darker colors of resin take longer to cure.
LIMES: that looks exactly like the last key lime pie I made 😂! Love your channels. You make me feel better because my experiences trying to do these have been the same. Maybe it's just anyone over 12 can't do it
I took my resin & warmed the resin bottle in hot water. It made tge resin more easy to work with. I placed the complete ones in the sun for the day.
If you maybe warm the gel for a few mins with your body heat before opening it may come out easier.
Also rubbing alcohol will clean that gel stuff up while it's wet. ❤

Also, a UV lamp has a more concentrated source of light so it cures the resin a lot quicker than the sun!
UV light is the way to go. They are inexpensive too.
You should buy a key lime pie at the grocery store. Then you’ll see how the toppings are arranged ❤️

Maybe you should pour like 3/4 or 2/3 of the resin, cure it, pour the rest of it and place the toppings and then cure again

I would think you could use UV nail glue or clear gel polish to add toppings if it’s cured too much. But I’m not sure.
the problem is that the time was for if you are using sunlight, uv lights are much more concentrated than sunlight so it will cure much faster
