Might need to put the can on bricks to raise it up to chicken head height.
LANE! bout time ya took over for your parents, ya know ya gotta help those senior citizens with all them projects they make up for you!! mind if i " BORROW " your idea for a chicken feeder? GREAT VIDEO YOUNG MAN!!!
You might be the best sawzall circle cutter I've ever seen.
Your gonna b a great farmer like your dad lol that was cool feeder
A Lane video? Now this was cool. Great job. With all those chickens, will you need more than one bucket feeder? God bless and stay safe 🙏❤
Excellent there Lane ! Thank you very much.Excess any feed calls Rats and the Nocturnal Pain in the Buckets.Make another Vid again soon.Maybe you, sister and Mama can sing again for us.....Your Papa too Peace from MN
Great Idea might need to raise off ground at chicken height so easier for them to get into or make another with holes higher. Looks like your going to need more than one. Might also want to weigh down some way so wind doesn't knock it over. Glad you've mastered the Clutch. Great Truck. God Bless and Peace Be With You All
Hey! Lane! Great idea! Lane I live in a town that you can only have 6 hens, that 160 lbs. will last all year. I 'll need to find something smaller, like a 5 gal bucket. Great idea, i'll start work on that. Thanks Again!
Hi. A 5 g bucket would work as well. Just smaller PVC fittings. Peace to you and yours
You have some beautiful roosters! My favorite are the Brahma chickens. 😍 still love the white kitty too. God Bless ya'll 🐈
Lane had a great idea for the chicken feeder. Keep thinking and create more helpful farm tools.
That is awesome Lane! Thanks for sharing the idea. I feel as though I could do this on a smaller scale maybe a 5 gallon bucket since I don't have quite as many chickens. Have a blessed day!
For sure about weighing the cans down as the feed empties, we have ex large cans I can barely handle but manages to blow over in any wind bursts. Great idea and execution.
Awesome job. Chickens and rosters are so pretty also
Great idea!
I’m amazed how good you got that circle with the sawzall 😁
I used the elbows in a 5 gallon bucket and hang it in our run. Food never gets wet and there is no mess or rodent problem! Nice job!! You have a lot more chickens than we do!!!
I did this when I had chickens it worked great I could put 50lbs in at a time it would last 2 weeks at a time. I would suggest making more of them for the amount of chicken you have. Great job Lane.
Good job ben i am going to make myself one i think it is just what i need my chickens need nothing like saving feed
God bless
Yes! This is great! Thank you Lane.
That feeder is cool Lane! Cool 😎 truck 🛻 too!
Great job, Lane! Thanks for the lesson on how to put this together. My sister has chickens now and this will be a helpful gift for the crazy chicken lady in my life! Have a blessed day!
pretty good idea Lane! Thanks for sharing!!
So cool u r smart enough to love that truck!! Love it too!! Love the feeder idea too...we will have to try that this spring 👍👍
Lane, you might want to put a single layer of 2x4's under the barrel so that the chickens don't have to bend over so much to get in there to eat. Just a thought. 😊
Great job, Lane! Love the different chickens! What a beautiful family you have!
Thanks for the video. We're going to make one.
Thanks for sharing lane. Your’s idea seem to be easier than most other youtubers. What I like best is that you did not use any kind of silicone glue. I don’t have any yools can cut that pvc, hopefully lowes can help me cut it upon purchasing. Thanks again!!!
Awesome Lane! Welldone!
Nice job lane i guess you have no problem with the truck being a standard. :)
Great idea ...is one garbage can enough for all the chickens? I loved the Purrrr! 🙂💜
I was wondering the same thing. Four feeder holes just doesn't seem like enough for all of those chickens.
We’re making more than one
Great idea and beautiful chickens.
Awesome job Lane.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
Great video Lane! Good use of what you have!
Great idea for a feeder. Thx for sharing. Hugs to Y'all
Great job Lane.
Beautiful chickens!
Lane that is a good idea to feed the chicken's. Should help y'all out.
Nice job Lane on the video....that black kitty was sure curious when you were making the chicken feeder.
Great job! And an awesome idea.
Great job Lane!! I am not your Aunt but I couldn’t be more proud of your efforts and hard work that you do to help make that farm work. That goes for Emily as well but she hasn’t destroyed a rubber trash can yet. 😂😂😂. The chickens are picture book beautiful too. God bless you buddy 😊🎣🎣🎣
What a great idea, we may have to try this once we get our chickens. great content and looking forward too more. (also to our move to our land in NE Arkansas.)
I made something similar years ago, but I believe I used a 4" elbow. I didn't even know they made an elbow with a male and female end! I like how you used it! Just an FYI, I found that I had to raise mine up about 2" because the chickens seemed to have some difficulty. Not to mention, raising it up helped to prevent much splash up when it rained. Good job!
Nicely done Lane...God bless.
Good instructions for the chicken feeder Lane. Your taking after mom and dad on making videos. You did a good job! Stay Blessed y'all☺
Awesome video! I love your idea for the chicken feeder Lain!! Thank you! (Forgive me if I've misspelled your name)
You sure do have some beautiful roosters. New subscriber, came over from Hidden Heights Farm.
Great job, young man.
Great job! You should make morw vidoes more often. Thank you for sharing. God Bless
Great idea! That made an awesome chicken feeder. 👍❤️🙏
Roosters are beautiful and love the black and white chickens.
Love the feeder will ducks and geese beagle to eat from it. God Bless you and your family
Such a good job! Lane, do you have any plans yet for after graduation? I imagine your future is bright!
Nice feeder. With the large number of chickens you have, you may have to make a few more. Take Care. God Bless
Cool idea for chicken feeder
That's pretty nifty. 150 pounds of chicken feed!
Lane just makes me smile. 😊
Great Job LANE .Love yahs
Very simple smart and effective idea - well done Lane and well explained- thanks
Hi. Great demo n build Lane ! Your turkeys n ducks would benefit from this type of build also. With your windy area, you'll just have to check on it for blow over issues when the bucket gets half full. Be careful when lifting lid to refill, you might find a critter surprise. Ya'll are very creative n crafty people with your projects. Peace to you and yours
This is great!
I've seen pictures of feeders like this before but I wasn't sure how they were assembled. This was a great tutorial. I think I can handle it now, thanks!!!
Hi, Lane. Great video!
It was great to see a video by Lane! Good work!
Lane, you are BRILLIANT!!
That was a cool feeder and your chickens are very pretty especially like the roosters gorgeous feathers
Good job........just for safety wear a Mask when cutting plastics, I had a long infection went to hospital because I didnt.........just a parent trying to keep you safe. Keep up the good work
Great video Lane
Well you are very good coming up with ideas! Good job Laine!😊😊
You must have chickens w/necks like Jimmy Phillips, Man did he have a long neck! lol
You did great with the video young man. The chickens are gorgeous. Great feeding system. 😺
Good job on the video. Great idea.
Love it. I’m going to try that!
Lance I think you done a wonderful job on that feeder young man I think you would do better with a jigsaw on your next one that you make and also I think you could probably raise it up about another three or four inches and they could still reach the feed God bless you love watching y'all's videos and keep me in your prayer I got exposed to the Kobe don't like that idea at all give me some ideas on what to do
Great video! Good job!
Nice Lane. I hope it works out for ya.
Nice job Lane, love this idea! Blessings all! :)
Excellent video
Very clever!
Nice work!
Great tutorial
I agree with the others about the height of the feeders, and weighing it down against the wind. You also might think about a bungie cord or latch system for the lid, to keep it from blowing off. Great idea, though you may need a couple more, for the number of chickens you have.
Great idea!!!
*GOOD JOB*
Great video more like this😀
Awesome
Ohhh your little white kitten has a loud motor
Pretty ingenious. You're gonna save a lot of money on loss feed :)
God Bless you
Good job! God bless
Thank you so much for this video. My chickens waste so much food . I don’t understand why they don’t eat it from the ground 🧐
How well does it keep rain out?How long does the setup last and does it sweat and mold your food
Excellent idea. Thank you. Bit how big do the chickens need to be?
It doesn’t matter unless you put the holes to high.
@@VWFamilyFarm Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. Cheers
Chick chick buffet - good going. Saw you had some hired help - how many mice did he charge you?
Lane that was a great video but maybe raise it up on something.
Cut with band saw or sawsall with elbow clamped in vise would be safer
The mice will poke their head in there too.
Ummm
Not for me, but very creative.
I love that feeder, but I have issues with field mice so gotta figure out how I could cover the holes up at night 🤔
Soup can. 😉
@@VWFamilyFarm brilliant, didn’t think about that. I’m definitely tired of wasted chicken feed so totally going to try this.
Cool feeder and very pretty chickens! What is your reasoning for not soaking your chicken feed before feeding?
We just haven’t yet
So my 3" street elbow do not have the little lip on the male end. Any ideas on how to make that connection stick?
I don’t think mine were street elbows, I think they were double female. What do you mean get it to stick?
Hay Lane I take a section of 2x4 welded wire and loop it over the top so only heads can go through.
Is one feeder enough for all those chickens?
Why is the elbow down? I don't know anything about making feeders. I'd think upward they'd fill with the seed. Can you explain how the down facing ones work please?
They face down because since they are raised off of the bottom, feed can get under them. The chickens are just reaching down in there and eating feed off the bottom of the can.
You do know there's good money in Capes and saddles for fly tiers. Some of the real nice ones are expensive. Google it.
