"One of my 3d carving machines", Im glad you have so many
The intro is on another Level!
Bravo! your finishing skills are superb! clean and beautiful! keep up the fine work!
Great Project! Ho much tension is on the springs? Ild be afraid of the top ringbolts could break because of the leverage 🤔
Lady! I just found you and honestly, I’m in love. I’m subscribed. Now to buy some of your stuff
Amazing Idea
doing the lords work over here.
Another great build ... and terrific instructions
Thanks a lot Spencer!
OMG!!! You deserve all youtube viewers.
New to the channel really cool looks like I'm sticking around
Awesome project Cris! The notebooks look just too nice to be used!!!
Ollari's Thanks Ollari! :) See you in a couple days 😁😁😁
did you ever make the plans and equipment list available ? huge thanks.
portugal é lindo! abraços do brasil!
So nice!! I liked this video very much!!
I like the way these turned out. How would this process work on a leather cover? By the way. Really enjoyed getting to hang with you this weekend. Can’t wait for next year!
Amazing.
what kind of pocket hole jig are you using?
Try wiping the paper with a damp sponge first before embossing. Great iTunes!
I tried it but this grey paper would turn a bit greenish so I gave up on the idea. But that will certainly work well with other types of paper and probably even get a stronger texture. Gotta try more things
If you're afraid of scratching your workbench, simply place a waste-board ontop of it ^^
Vi que tienes auriculares, que música te gusta? (Sorry i didn't learn a lot of english ) ^q^
jikan de ushinawa in her Q&A video she shares a spotify list
becomingjoana oh ok tk you
damn notebooks sold out!
What is the song at the end?
Very nice, thank you for sharing - sub and liked
Never apologise for that hair 😍
If you put strong springs you will born again.
You say word ( deeper ) every video
Looks great. I would like to give this ago. Will you be at makers central this weekend?
YESSSS
Get Hands Dirty Awesome hope I get a chance to meet you.
Amazing! I didn't know you were coming!!!
If squarespace is so great, why is the notebook page missing its picture?
Patrik It must be something on your computer/phone...here everything is working fine.
size plss
Why bother with the springs, and you clearly have an amazing amount of money, all the tools you using alone are way more than anyone normal can afford, so wondering if you have this much cash why not buy a press, or try and make one for us regular people
4:06 Don't apologize for your hair. It is an inspiration to us all.
awesome result :-O !!
This book press and stamp project is absolutely brilliant, Cristiana! I love the meticulous, creative effort that you put into growing your gifts. I have been a subscriber since the cactus planter a couple years ago and find your videos equally relaxing and intoxicating. There are not many opportunities to watch artists in their home environments, yet even then, everything in your home is your handmade work of art that we have seen you produce. Thanks so much for kindly sharing part of your life and adventure. : )
One suggestion if you don't mind. When you heat a metal (any) to change shape and then leave to cool down naturally it becomes soft. Try to cool down fast by water so it stays hard. You need this parts to hold some weight so I suggest to cool it down with water or oil.
Great work. Just a tip from an American viewer: I know you didn't mean it this way, but your support is "pretty much appreciated" implies that it's only sort-of appreciated. You want to say, "very much appreciated." Just trying to help, not be an internet douche.
Unfortunately Carvey® is no longer available, but there's X-Carve® now by the good old boys from Inventables, which is a splendid option to create 3D carved projects: www.inventables.com/technologies/x-carve 🖖🏻🧔🏻
Boom! Great video. Thanks for sharing.
now I know who stole my bottle jack out of the garage! My Dad's Dad's Dad's Dad's Dad's was good friends with Peter V
I went searching for david+andrey+hydraulic+book+binding+press but no luck. Do you still have the link to his design? Thanks
Nice job may I suggest you look at rusteloum hammered black, green copper silver gives it a hammered texture and wear well
awesome! Yous really shouldn't be using alcohol as a lubricant it can throw flame bits everywhere......
I just bought a small mig welder to make projects like this easier. $238 for a Hobart 100
That is one cool press....so many things you can do with it. The colors for the books is great, gray with that orange? I think its orange. And a early congrats on 300k cause you are almost there...have a great week
1) I LIKE your hair! 4:05
2) Cursing in a foreign language (than mine) 6:14 double thumbs up :)
3) Order Confirmed! Order Number: #00028
Ahah Thanks a lot for you support! Actually I said "whaat? What tha..." and then cut :p It wasn't portuguese, but I've said it in portuguese on some other video xD
uh huh, uh huh.... SURE you did...... :)
My wife and I love you.
anyone who knows when she curses in Portuguese please? lol
what about the plans for the hydraulic press? so someone else can build it as my wife is into making her own books now
Can we cut cardboard box pieces by using cutting dies from this press Machine ?
Hi! I love your jobs, they're so amazing. Do you speak Portuguese too?
4:55 use machine oil. It will make everything easier.
Hello
I need block making machine . Can u plz refer a source.
I found your channel through your apartment Reno videos so this is my first time seeing you with long hair, you look so different!
Love this tutorial it's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for posting it.
Boom! This is so slick :)
Is it possible to make stamp out of epoxy resin instead of metal?
Thank you for sharing! Subbed! :D
are the positive and negative the exact same of is one smaller?
Can you link to the bottle jack press page?
How could an average person afford or do this?
Where are you getting hard maple wood from?
;-) Obrigado, e não me leve a mal.
Cumprimentos,

Great video Cristiana
If you can find copper plate; that will carve easier than brass and copper will hold the fine serifs just fine. In the printing industry we make copper plates for letterpress and emboss work and if we need a plate to stand up to 200,000 impressions we go with brass and if we need a plate for unlimited use we go with brass with a chrome plating. I worked with encyclopedia printing early in my career and a set of foil-embossing dies came in that were brass with chrome plating; they were a thing of beauty. As a child we had two platen presses for printing 1/C (one color) cards and letter heads and stationery. You should go to an engraver house in Porto and ask where you can find an embosser company. Go to that company and get a butt role of silver or gold stamping foil or if not just some sheets of the stuff and then you can put that foil over the emboss area and dress up the image. Run paper or cover stock that is a little on the thick side for good impression. Some presses had a heated die bed that would release the foil better.
I wish all girls were like that not afraid to #GetHandsDirty
I just odered a handmade notebook. Love your work
Thank you!!
You inspire me to make my new video on saturday))
That was wonderful to watch. I'm currently making embossing folders that are up to 30x40 cm wide. That is pretty big and up to now I haven't had completely satisfactory results in a roll press, a laundry wringer, a book press or an A3 embosser. But I have a theory that if I make sturdy wooden frames held tightly together with screws and hinges that I will be able to feed the structure through one of the rolling presses. I now want to make a hydraulic press... but it does look very hard and you'd actually have to put an enormous amount of pressure on A3 size embossing plates. But it's a great design and I want one!
How much ton is this hydraulik krik?
Wow! I developed a method to make embossing folders to press in any standard press...but my enthusiasm for pressing paper like this came from a little metal embossing press I had made with my name on it years ago. Seeing you going through the inventing process designing a similar machine, i.e. a push press, was just amazing for me. So the little die has to be a little bit larger? How much larger? I'm only asking this because what I do to make embossing folders... and I've made hundreds of them, is to engrave into a relatively soft surface and then make a mould of that surface... and then a mould of the mould. I make these two surfaces afterwards into the embossing folder which you can run through a machine. Thanks so much!
Bom trabalho Cristiana.👌👌
hy im really curious what your real job?
Fascinating girl. She reminds me of Segourney Waver (Alien 1,2,3). I'd fly to the end of the galaxy with this lady without any fear. :-)
Can someone link the plans for the press please.
Great video Cris! Pretty notebooks! The press would be also pretty good to glue up recycled skateboards, to make some toys out of it :D Maybe I should make one haha!
I remember a version of this idea in an old issue of Readymade magazine. That one I believe had 2x4s for the uprights but the angle iron is so much better and sturdier! I love your version and as always, great content!
I like listening to Cristiana's voice so much I didn't even skip through the SquareSpace pitch. 🙂
Ahahah thanks :D
Hi ! I was wandering if I make the size of the press bigger (both direction), would it still work ? I am thinking to a A3 even A2 if possible, thanks !
Good work ! One day I will start to build my hydraulic press, I have the materials already... For about 10 years ! Hehehe ! I saw a Dexter clamp bended in the wider side ? Whaaat ? How can be that ? I'm very "brute" forcing that clamps and never happened to me... You can't beat me ! I'll try harder ! Hehehe ! Cheers !
Great video and a cool project. My only criticism is that the captions on the screen block a good portion of what you're doing. Thanks.
Your hair is the exact opposite of my hair.
Good job Justin Bieber. 😄
Had you considered making a fly press? Or pneumatic press for speed? I still like your press but I'm wondering what you might change about it going into the future if you're going to do more embossing?
Wow, just 8€ for a handmade notebook. Too bad they're all gone...
I'm a carpenter and bookbinder too. In the end we all come to the same style solution making a press.
Very nice work....... thank you..
Jep...super idea. Well made Cris
Fica a dica.
How big do you think you could upscale this design? Big enough to do 1 meter prints? Or should I look into building a roller press?
Really enjoyed this video. The only criticism I've got is that the subtitles often obscured the action because of its position.
boooooooom!
Cristiana,, I really enjoy your channel. I think you are amazing and I love how you think about your projects ! I think you are one of just a small handful of women I know of, that likes power tools more than me ! If I were 20 years younger I would propose marriage because you are definitely the hottest youtuber of them all !! Keep up the fantastic work !!
That's very impressive and professional looking. Couldn't you have made a jig to do it in the bench vice?
4:06 Don't you ever apologize for that magnificent mane again. Very cool project! That press would probably great for embossing leather, too.
Hello please send me a riplay
You really should meet Martin from Wintergatan. He has the same video style and work attitude as you. You both do awesome work!
Hi Cris, great project! Amazing result! Can I ask how hard was to setup your cnc machine? At the same time how was choose one? Thanks
i love your video lightning
You are amazing to me!
