- This is what it might have sounded like if Yumi Kawamura (OG Singer from Persona 3) had sung in Mass Destruction again.
I just want to make it clear that I have nothing against the new singer. She delivers in the new songs. Also I love the new Mass Destruction!! Cant wait for this Soundtrack!!

@@gamebeats1294 Yeah, she was a smoker. You've heard how she's had to sing at a lower pitch as her voice cannot go as high as before.

@@gamebeats1294 I imagine that Atlus considered Yumi at first, but then after realising they'd have to change the way each song sounds to fit her lowered vocal range, they decided to go with new talent instead.
I don't mind; it's growing on me, but I'm used to Yumi's voice so hearing the new vocalist is a new experience.

The weird thing is, the new vocalist is REALLY good! And all the new original songs I feel she absolutely crushes! The only songs I see getting criticized are the returning songs where she now does Yumi's part. And while I'm sure lots of it is nostalgia, I actually agree she doesn't do great on those parts, almost like she was directed to reign it in when recording those parts? Manufactured controversy? Though idk if there would be much of a reason to do that.
Seriously! I think it's that you can tell she's imitating her. On the new songs she absolutely slays them but the remixes just aren't great.
I mean I didn't like the new baby baby either, but now people are just editing the poor girl out, gah damn! 😭😭
Don't worry, I just did it for fun. I also generally like the new Mass Destruction. She can sing well, you can tell for example in the song “Its going down now”.
The new "Baby Baby" is perfectly fine to me, it just doesn't have the voice editing or as much noise going on in the background like the old Mass Destruction did.

They're not talking about the fast baby bay that's been sampled, they're talking about Yumi's vocal part/ Oh yeah dadadada dadadada, baby, baby, dadada etc.
The new singer is pretty good, but I really don't like how she pronounces "baby" in Mass Destruction, it just doesn't hit the same

It's a real shame Yumi can't come back but it's understandable as to why. The new singer is pretty good so far and I prefer the new versions of Changing Seasons and Master of Tartarus to the original, though Master of Shadow feels really off with the vocals. Can't wait for the full release!
Master of Shadows wasn't Yumi. It was probably from a sample cd. I actually like how they are using the new singer on tracks that didn't use Yumi originally.
I loved the new changing seasons but was very disappointed they took out the french parts : (

Idk at first the whole new voices things bothered me (both singers and va's) but I think it's started to grow on me. Even with the new voices I'm still hella excited for p3r tho.

I see the consensus here is that the new singer sings best in new track but she's inferior when singing original tracks. I think because her jazzy voice didn't fit the more intense rock genre P3 soundtrack, while it works in more "PQ-esque" new tracks (not sure how I can identify the difference between PQ and P3 soundtracks).

I think this is because the new mass destruction is a bit slower in terms of bpm

Idk why they had to redo the music. This isnt like games that had midi music or something. Almost every track couldve been reused in its entirety without an issue.
Maybe there is a way to change to the og music. But I like the new remixes and New songs

This really does feel disrespectful to the new singer. Regardless of your preference, Azami Takahashi deserves credit and recognition for her performance on the new version. Omitting artists in this way isn't how we ought to respond to art.
It's just a mash up. It's supposed to show what it would have sounded like with Yumi. It wasn't meant to be discriminatory against Azami in the slightest. If that were the case, all the AI covers or Fan covers of songs would be disrespectful to the real singers.

there was no AI voices involved in making this. the person imply isolated the vocals from one of the Mass destruction remixes and added them in.@@Mustafascerity

no it's not? it's a mixing and layering problem, people just don't know it, if she had backing vocals like the original it would "hit harder" like people are saying it lacks. It's with the Lotus Juice/rap part too. Nobody is saying the singer sings/sounds bad dumbie
