Real guys who keep in shape barely change in 7 years anyway, especially if they don't have injuries and continue to train, almost all athletes know this, not internet geeks that like to pretend 40's is too old to be an athlete, when so many guys in their 40's are still so close to their prime, or should be if they keep it up. Most guys have to hang it up early because of wear and tear and injuries. Age alone 40's is nothing, you should feel almost no difference in your 40's compared to 30's and 20's if you take care of your health, it's not 70 years old lol. There is a reason Couture was the heavyweight champ at 45, very few injuries, and same with Comier being the top fighter at 40. Besides Jon and Stipe weren't even in the same weight class and talked about as a real fight back then. Nothing even close to a legitimate fight discussed.

Most athletes shouldn't change much at that young of an age, not without serious injuries and wear and tear. That's what makes most change when only 40's, and sometimes younger if they let themsevles go at younger ages. Couture had very few injuries and was heavyweight champ at 45 for those reasons, and Cormier easily could have been champ at 41. You need to keep the training it up though. You fall of quicker if you let go of that as you get older. Stipe needed warm up fights at least. That's what really messed him up. He looked very rusty.
