In this together: LBBC caregiver initiative

In 2022, LBBC honored a group of caregivers with the Abby Lessack Caregiver Award. The award was inspired by Amy Lessack, LBBC board member and longtime volunteer, who, in the weeks before she passed away from metastatic breast cancer, approached LBBC with a request to honor her sister Abby who was her caregiver.
This year, we asked members of our community to share a photo and three words to describe their caregivers. We received many heartfelt tributes honoring the “selfless”, “patient”, and “compassionate” caregivers in their lives. Thank you to everyone who submitted tributes.
