    Nice. We have 2 power wheels. Just got there bare minimum parts to try and do this. Hopefully it’s as easy as the videos I’ve seen make it appear lol

      It's not hard, try to make sure the motors get some cooling. Not too important in the winter, but it will be in the summer.
      If the kids are bigger be ready to break some gears, they are easy to replace though. Have fun!

      One of the power wheels isn’t working. The battery is good tho. Gonna try to take it apart and figure it out

    Had a question about pinion gears I ordered off Amazon a16t 5mm shaft pinion gear for the 775 motors but they will not fit is there a link you could attach for the ones you used? This is for a dune racer with15t 16t 17t stamped on the back of gear box thanks

    What parts did you use, my 4 yr old has this exact power wheel, Id love to do the same!

      Here's a list of the parts I used, most are listed in the still frames, some may be optional. I was only going to use 2 exhaust/cooling fans at first, there are basically 3 compartments, one for each motor/gearbox, and a battery compartment in the center. Since there was empty space, I thought it would look better and cool better by adding 2 more fans, adding ventilation can't hurt when over-volting electric motors. The heat sinks with fans some may say are not needed. Our motors were getting hot enough you couldn't keep your hand on them. The heat sinks fixed that problem. We live in Ca. where temps. can be 100+, that may account for some of it. The best thing to do is research a little on the Modifiedpowerwheels.com. forum and make your own choices on what works best for you. I'm just sharing what has worked for us, there is no singular way this has to be done. Have Fun!
      (2) Gruber 12 volt 12ah batteries
      6 volt Power Wheels battery (for the fans only)
      (2) Banebots 775 18v motors.
      (2) 50x50 and 80x80 computer fans
      (2) Heat sinks w/fans 45mm (Hobby King)
      Bussmann 40 amp 24 volt circuit breaker
      (2) 16t-32p pinion gears (5mm shaft size)
      R.C. model on/off switch
      30 volt digital voltage meter
      10 awg wire and connectors
      I did two things when mounting the 775 motors, some guys don't do this and say it still worked fine for them.
      I used the collar/washer from the stock 550 motors for mounting in the gearbox. ( I had to Dremmel them to fit) And I added a thin nylon washer (between motor and gearbox) so the pinion gear and first gear will mesh as fully as possible. I also cut vent holes in the washer to match the air intake holes on the motor. Once again you may not have to do this, It's worked for us!

      Drivesideways great video! which hobby king heatsink and fan did you get? Also, why did you choose 18v 775 motor instead of 775? I'm trying to copy your build.

      @@topdawgx99 Sorry for the very late response, (I just saw this today) your kid has probably out grown the vehicle by now. The 18v has a higher RPM. I hope your build came out good, and you had some fun!

    I have bought my daughter the dune racer as well and released the extra gear and converted it to a 24v Beast but after I allowed her to go up a hill it now keeps shutting off after 2mins. Please any advice also I would love details on upgrading hers to The Furrminator 2.0 Thanks

    • @drivesideways6550
      @drivesideways6550  5 років тому +1

      Tyrone I don't know what the Furminator 2.0 is? But if your using stock power wheels Batteries they have a built in fuse that will reset on it's own after it rests for a while.
      That happen to us originally until I bought after market batteries and added an inline fuse.

    I'm doing a 775 conversion for my son's right now. What if anything did you do to secure the gear boxes from flopping around?

    • @drivesideways6550
      @drivesideways6550  5 років тому

      I think that's actually an important part of the design, gives a little play especially if they accidentally shift into reverse while going forward, (also when they let off the gas and it brakes) it may save some of the plastic teeth on the gears. Hope you enjoyed, give a thumbs up and share if you did!

      I don't remember the cost of the parts.
