I think our self esteem starts with how our mother treats us, what she says to us, and how she responds when we start having those unsure moments. My mother won a beauty contest when she was a young woman, and as a result, none of her girls were quite as beautiful as she knew she was. Our nicknames were cute to her but digs to our appearance. I was called “shnozola” because I had a wider nose than she did. “Bees knees” because my legs were thin. “Helmet head” because my head was bigger than hers. My sisters had just as “lovely” names, as did my brothers. If the one who birthed you and is supposed to be the one who loves you more than anyone else begins to point out your flaws, it is hard not to roll those words around for the rest of your life. In my opinion, and what I tried to do with my kids, was to never ever ever be the one to point out any flaws in our kids. Trust me, they will get enough of that from this tough world. Be their safe space, their biggest fan, and their top encourager. It makes a huge difference! My kids are very confident adults as a result.
Thank you for sharing your heart ♥️ Your words touched me! I loved my mother dearly but she was more woman than mother as I was growing up, which is when I needed her the most! Divorce didn’t help either. She made up for it in my adult life with her loving kindness. I can honestly say Iam the woman Iam because of all the beautiful things my Heavenly Father says that Iam! The Bible is a love story to those that would take the time to Read it! I have 3 wonderful sons, now grown men and I also go out of my way to show my love. Blessings. Alicia
Excellent post. Everything you have said is so true. I would love to pin this for all mothers, aunts and grandmothers to read. How we perceive ourselves as young women is how we ‘believe’ we are forever. Positive reinforcement is so important.
My mother always told me, "If you think beautiful thoughts you'll be beautiful; if you speak lovely words you will be lovely." Attractiveness does come from within. People will be attracted to you because of your personality and because of how you treat others. This is what mothers are forgetting to teach their daughters. And yes - Hollywood and the media aren't helping! Thanks for your inspiration (as always). BTW: Have you noticed, that the more you like someone, or love someone the more attractive they become in your eyes? :) Sandra - You are gorgeous inside and out.
"You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here." I first read the poem Desiderata by Max Ehrmann some 35 years ago. I was staying in a rented cottage at Holden Beach, NC, and had picked up the vacation home owner's guest book from a chairside table. Desiderata was printed on the flyleaf at the front of the book and it was those words from it that went straight to my heart, giving me the comfort and inspiration I needed at that very moment. I have kept a framed copy of Desiderata on display in my home ever since and it's wisdom has continued to serve me well through the years. Listening to your story about the conversation of the young women at the table near you brought these words from the poem to mind: "If you compare yourself to others you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself." I think social media promotes extremes and comparisons (best/worst, etc.), which can lead to disillusionment. I've often thought I should find little laminated book markers imprinted with Desiderata and keep a supply in my bag to casually leave where someone might read it and also take comfort and inspiration from it. Your Valentino lipsticks are beautiful! I am a lipstick lover, too. I grew up loving those little lipstick samples our pretty Avon lady left. We had a family photoshoot yesterday and this 73-year-old grandmother wore Julep's Electric Coral Creme. Looked great with my faded jean jacket.
Suzanne Smith, what great & wise words in your comment. I do believe that Social. Media & current morals are bombarding our kids with negative images & feel so badly for young people. That’s why it’s so important for them to have a normal childhood where they feel secure in the love of family & friends. I’m not familiar w/Desiderata but I will be today to check it out. Thanks for your inspiring comments.
I absolutely your comments I love.com and have read it over and over again throughout the years. These young women today have so many treasures on them that we never had growing up. Lipstick is my go to whenever I feel I need a lift. Sounds like a very great photo shoot
"I have never met an ugly woman in my life." This is so affirming and inspiring coming from a lovely woman that you are, Sandra. My mother used to tell me that beauty is skin deep. And I have since equated real beauty with one's character.
As I watched this I thought about how shows us what’s on the inside. It radiates and illuminates. Thanks for reminding me. I have a dear friend who never fails to tell me that I’m fabulous, bad hair days, wrinkles and all.
I have 2 adult daughters and they are beautiful inside and out. Our concentration is on total womanly strength and beauty. I in fact wear more make up than they do. Let your natural light shine through! Each age has its special look. I never let my age define my worth. I love being 66 and although I'm changing, it's fabulous!
Sandra, you are just gorgeous. Your philosophy of life and your wisdom impressed me so much. By the way you are so right saying that every woman is beautiful. My daughter is 19 and you managed to impress her too! Greetings from Bulgaria
Hi Sandra , here in Belgium we also see this trend that through social media young beautiful people want a perfectly ( beautiful ) body . Now there are TV and radio programs that pay a lot attention to this . Parents also take this seriously. Our 3 daughters have not been bothered by this , they have a circle of friends where no pressure for perfection in any area . Thank you for your videos .
Family must be really doing something right to be able to have your daughters not want to change their physical appearance. Because of their family around them they probably have wonderful self images already. That’s so great to hear
When I was Young I had No Self Worth or Any Confidence. As I aged Thankfully , I Realized You Need to be your Own Friend. As you Say Be kind to yourself. God Bless you for your Compassionate Heart. You are So Beautiful, Such a Lovely Lady Great advice as always, Hugs by the Bushels 😙❤🤗💐
Thank you so much Michelle. Age is done the same thing for me. Are used to be very shy and really not confident in myself. But because of circumstances I grew strong and I had to believe in myself to survive. Hopefully these young women will develop that before they start altering they are
Very well said, friend. Anytime I’ve ever heard anyone ask the ‘do you think she’s pretty’ question, I ALWAYS respond with, “of course, because everyone is beautiful in their own ways.” It breaks my heart when I think someone may feel otherwise. Looks go much further than an outward appearance ♥️
I agree with about our young women.I love the lipsticks especially Valentino's especially because of my precious grandson Valentino.Your a wonderful mother to advertise for your children I love it.I was once an Avon rep too. Thank you for your link to your daughter's Avon link.
Sandra, Thanks for your encouraging share. Yesterday, I resign from a contract. Before I was hired in 2019, the Administrator said a couple of months ago that a new Federal Government new hire was planned for Summer 2021. It meant no work for me. I rode it out for the last couple of months. However, something was said to me that drove my resignation. Of course, I have applied for jobs. I earned my MBA in 2014 and healthy/happy. I know am a long-term administrative professional. Not retiring. The young ladies want changes because they do not believe in themselves. I believe in myself that I will continue to work and be of Service to People. Red lipstick will look great on me today when I am out and about with my laptop computer. Will catch up with acquaintances and friends this week. Blessings and Thank You. 💝
Jan I have no doubt that what you did was right and that you were going to have a wonderful next chapter. It’s amazing I think every 10 years I have had different chapters in my life and you will too. Thank you ever so much for being here. I have all great hopes for your decisions in your life
Yes the focus on externals and the growing trends of false eyelashes, fake nails and all other kinds of garments and procedures has obscured natural beauty and the beauty within. I see this with my nieces and nephews
It’s very concerning to me and I wish there was a way that I could stop this trend. I believe it Hass to be with mothers and grandmothers or fathers and uncles. We have to let these young people know the true value of who they are and they’re worth
One thing I have learned is to be myself, my best self, but not phony, or something I’m really not. Because I want to sustain true relationships. Even if I only have one or 2 true friends. It takes too much energy to sustain “phoney” relationships. Be who you are. Be the best you can be.You will never please everyone, no matter what. God created us all very unique, and loves us so much.
Hi Sandra, Very well said. The mindset of this this younger generation is very concerning & heartbreaking. I have heard many, many, many young people in their 20's (both female & male) say that they are old & they really believe it & are struggling with feeling old in their 20's. This is so very, very sad.
This was a perfect video!! Yes we need to encourage the younger girls to love / embrace their own unique selves!! I love lipstick, too!! Going to check the Valentino’s out!! I appreciate your style and Grace and how you help us grow old gracefully! You are a role model! Thank you so much for your channel!! I always look forward to your talks and advice and words of wisdom!! 😘👍
So happy to have you here and I do hope that we can motivator be an inspiration to this younger generation of women to love themselves for who they are
Sandra, you are such a beautiful person. It speaks volumes about you that you were so hurt over those young girls feeling the way they do about beauty! I, like you, believe inner beauty is a big part of outer beauty. You vocalized what I have been thinking about for quite awhile. I am 73 years old and I look at my granddaughters and tell them that they are young and beautiful and not to take that for granted. There is a saying that I've heard many times that youth is wasted on the young! The older I get, the more I understand the meaning of that. I wish someone had told me how fast the years would go and to appreciate my youth. That's the reason I talk to my four granddaughters about the things that I do. I want them to realize and live in the hear and now. I want then to seize the day! Sandra, you have such a large following. Thank you for sharing this important message with us. As the saying goes, each one, reach one, and you are certainly doing that! You are so beautiful. Thanks again, for bringing such an important topic to the table! I am not good at expressing myself, I just hope I got across how important your " life lesson" for today truly is. Never doubt how important you are to all of us subscribers!! What the world needs now is love, sweet love! Your heart is full of it! ❤️🙏🌟
My grandmother always told me "beauty is as beauty does," and it's so true!!! Your new Valentino lipsticks are gorgeous, and the packaging is stellar. It always good to hear about new skincare products. I watched your video yesterday morning, and forgot to comment. You are a true beauty, my friend. Blessings, prayers, and love for you, and Arthur..MaryEllen
Good morning MaryEllen. I’m so happy to see you again here. I am starting to believe that your mother and my father were on the same wave length. He always used to say that to me so often!! Thank you so much for watching and it’s OK. I understand. We all get busy with our real lives off of UA-cam. Emerson and his family are coming on Sunday and all I am so excited to see them. Thank you so much for watching my very kind and dear friend. I’ll try to catch you early Sunday morning. Love your way always.
I wish I could get more subscribers for you. So inspiring and so much wisdom. I also have been appalled at my generation for their vanity and showing their daughters such trivial things to call 'life.' I have 3 sons but they have chosen beautiful women, down to earth and I'm so grateful!!
Thank you so much Bev for wanting that for me. At my age I know it’s really hard and because I’m a lifestyle channel, and not a total beauty channel it’s sometimes hard. I think about these young women a lit
Loved your video today. I do like beautiful lipstick cases too! Sometimes the procedures make people look worse, then it’s too late. Thank you for sharing. 💜Jeanette Turner
Sandra, I wish all younger gals could hear and see your videos, you are the role model the young gals need. I have thought of the same thing, I see these young girls with lip fillers and nose jobs. I believe social media, and the celebrities have a lot to do with the younger generation not being happy with their looks. I have never thought to alter myself and I am 70… I just want to be the best version of myself, by eating healthy, drinking water, exercise, and good skin care. This morning I had to go for my colonoscopy/ endoscopy . I had a very hard night with the cleanse, my appt was 7:30 am.. I left with no make up of course and my head full of messy curls, when they wheeled me in to get the procedure the anesthesiologist looked at me, and said OMG your skin is flawless, they removed my mask to put the mouth guard in, and he said ok I really need to know what you use on your skin, or have you just always just taken care of your skin, I told him I always took care of my skin, he actually wanted to know the products used… i told him what I use and to sum it up that was the best part of my morning… lol I’m home resting now, and then I see your video… all I can say is at 20-30 year old women should enjoy and savor every one of those years, but I think us mature woman are so wise and as we age we just realize what is important in life… love u Sandra ❤️ you are such a inspiration, and you just glow from the inside out… If I could give you 10 thumbs up I would 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I am so happy you got through your colonoscopy OK. Doing the cleanse is the worst part of it, isn’t it. What a nice feeling it must’ve been to hear that your skin is so beautiful. It does pay to take care of your skin, doesn’t it. You will look young forever. A compliment like that would make my day
I am a 30-year-old woman happy to see such a relevant message today from such a wonderful woman! Keep shining Sandra you are an inspiration to all of us! You are a lovely, beautiful and an extraordinary woman and human being. 😍🥰💜
Hello beautiful Sandra...I SO agree and feel so sad for these young women who are chasing trends by altering their faces and bodies. One of the most important jobs for young people in their maturation process is to grow and learn to accept and love themselves inside and out and to celebrate their uniqueness. Some of the great beauties of our times, were not perfect...they had something special that made them unique...I adore Ali McGraw's slightly crooked teeth, Barbra Streisand's nose, Audrey Hepburn's boyish shape....but now with the ability to alter EVERYTHING to fit a passing trend....Everyone is starting to look the same with puffy lips, piano key teeth, huge breasts and behinds....and now with the surgery to give them a cat eye!? Their poor mother's won't even recognize them anymore. What happens to these poor girls when cute cupid bow lips and small breasts come back in style? It truly is sad and scary.
Your post was so accurate and sad at the same time. These young women are loosing their uniqueness by being like every one else. You are right on when you say that trends come and go. What happens then??
Thank you Sandra. I continue to try to set an example for my chorus ladies. Last night one told me she (has to) buys men's shirts because of her broad shoulders (look like mine and I have to restrain myself..lol) and how she hates to shop. She's got a beautiful figure, guessing a 12/14 hourglass and is a retired doctor. Many older women still suffer from early body image issues and it's so sad. I will continue to set an example, as did my mother. Your 💄 is so pretty!
Hello Sandra! Beautiful video! Those lipsticks look soo lovely on you. A nice lipstick just makes me feel special too...lol! I hope you have a beautiful day full of JOY .
Hello Sandra.. sorry I'm a bit late. I got into a video about kefir and was distracted... I agree with you about the younger generation (even the young men - pumping themselves up on those suppliments etc) we should make the best of what God has given us.. too much interference with nature is not a good thing.. You're right, we should look inside the person and find what they are really like.. You're looking fabulous today Sandra. Thanks for all the advice, encouragement and love you send our way.. sending some back to you and all those who are in this lovely community that you have gathered together. 💖🤗🐶🌹
What do you think if Kefir?? I tried it once, but really didn’t like the taste. Maybe it can be acquired. The superficial nurse that I see in these younger people really scares me. I do hope that the pendulum will swing the other way back just a little
@@lifewithsandrahart I first tried kefir 30 years ago in my 40's and couldn't believe the very positive effect it had on my health and general well being.. even some of my colleagues asked me to give them some. Sadly it did not survive the two week holiday I took and it kind of took a back seat. (I didn't know how to store it long term then) I have very recently taken an interest in it again.. I love the ritual of making it and really like the taste. It's early days yet but I am looking forward to feeling the benefits it gave me all those years ago.. I know a lot of people have great faith in it. All best wishes Sandra to you and yours. 💖
Hello Sandra ~ thanks for your inspiring commentary. You look wonderful your hair & makeup. You’re message is great it’s makes me think of the inspiration my beautiful mother shared with so many. I had several women share with me how encouraging and supportive my mother was to them when they needed it. The wisdom that my mom imparted on me and my daughter & others was priceless as are your words. My mom would have been 83 this year she was 20 years older than me. As my mom always said there’s a shade of red lipstick for everyone. My mom was fashionable and stylish. Wow I haven’t thought about Avon in years…my mom was an Avon representative in the 70’s and I was in the 90’s early 2000’s lol Blessings to you.
She’s so much for sharing your stories about your mother and what a wonderful saying. Here’s a red lipstick for everyone. Thank you again for being here and sharing with us
Sandra, you are right! I too have never seen an unattractive person! Beauty comes from within....and You are beautiful inside and outside! I pray those young women will celebrate their youth and thank God for it! It is fleeting for sure....God bless them.
Sandra, I think in other countries young women do more cosmetic surgery than US, so sad. Very inspiring program, you have aged to perfection and I have learned so much from your videos.🌹
I love Avon. Yes!! Social media is ruining our future generation! Very sad. I would love to see your jewelry collection. Your always have beautiful accessories which completes your outfits :)
Hi Sandra- I just discovered your channel while searching for reviews on Valentino lipsticks. I just ordered my first one. I have been a makeup lover since I was a teenager and love to watch You Tubers. I absolutely love what you had to say about Youth and Beauty. I am 69, a Mother of a Daughter (and Son) and Grandmother of a precious 4 year old Grandaughter. My Daughter and I absolutely do our best to instill positive influences in her about inward beauty, kindness. We want her to grow up healthy but not being obsessed about so much that impacts the minds of young girls today. You do not look 83 at all and are beautiful.
Sherry, welcome and I’m so happy you discovered me. Don’t you just love your Valentino lipsticks! I think the colors are so rich and they look beautiful. How wonderful that both you and your daughter are encouraging your grandchildren to develop their inter beauty. That is ageless
I am so happy I found your channel. I am 24 years old and I really appreciate your advice and wisdom. You inspire me to live a healthy, natural lifestyle. This message really got to me and made me so happy, I am so thankful for you. God bless! ❤️
Someone once said, "Youth is wasted on the young." How true. Young people are so self-critical. They don't realize what a gift it is to have good health, time to achieve their goals and dreams, friends and family, and so many other wonderful things that are taken for granted when we are young, but, unfortunately, we lose as we age. What can we do about it? Not much, I'm afraid. All of the pep talks in the world will not convince a young woman who is not what the world considers beautiful, that she is. Hopefully, they will eventually learn to accept themselves and love themselves for who they are. I am still working on that, as I turn 70 this year. We are all works in progress. Thank you so much, Sandra, for your words of wisdom and advice on aging. It has helped me tremendously in my journey to accept myself, let go of mistakes I have made, and move forward every day.
Very sad , the future generation is being guided by social media and to be truthful us but also what the norm is at home . I have written a book here twice … to much such a huge conversation.. love the lipstick looks beautiful on you Sandra :)🌷
What a great subject. Parents & grandparents are up against pharmaceutical companies who push plastic surgery. We are up against media, advitazers, merchandisers, and the young peoples peers who critique everyone's appearances. Young people bully each other into feeling inferior. We parents and grandparents can't get through to our young people. I know because I have a 16 yr old beautiful granddaughter who never quit feels good enough. It's a real problem. I'll keep trying.
Dearest Sandra, thank you for sharing your beauty secrets! You are an example of inner beauty that exemplifies sharing, caring and love. I don't have children but I do have preteen nieces and I never hesitate to tell them how beautiful they are but I always emphasize their kindness, sensitivity, artistic and caring personalities. Yes, we do gab about appearance but I do emphasize change and what a big role it plays in our lives and in our appearance. I have given them yoga books that show the poses in the form of fruits and veggies so they can really understand what true beauty really is and the attitude towards how we treat our bodies and good daily habits make us more beautiful than the best clothes or whatever is trendy right now. I always try to inspire them to imagine that in 50 years time, by the time they reach my age that their bodies may have aged but all those good habits make them look younger and stronger. And that their hearts remain as kind, sensitive and loving as when they younger and yes, the heart is young and healthy! That's the gift. To reach this in age in good health, with good habits and love in our hearts towards ourselves and if we have this within us then we can give it others. It cannot get better than that! Bless you my dear Sandra and give Arthur a big "hello!" from me!👏💪❤️🙏☺️
You are a wonderful aunt to your pre-teen nieces. They need female role models in their life to show them that they are beautiful just the way they are and how important it is not to be like everyone else and to be unique. Always trying to inspire them is what we all should be doing to our grandchildren
Liking ourselves and realizing how wonderful we really are is soooo important. We need to be kind to ourselves and each other. Lipsticks look very pretty on you🌷
Sandra❤️ Thank you for your kindness and your true inspiration ❤️ It's so very heartbreaking that our young women and men are having such a difficult time! With all the social media platforms pushing perfection and unrealistic expectations for them it's no wonder that they feel as if no matter what they do they fall short! I really feel that they are all so very beautiful and I don't understand why they aren't receiving the support and love from their family to build the self esteem they should have at home. As a mother I always told my daughters and sons that they were beautiful or handsome everyday and encouraged them to grow up to be whatever they wanted to be! I do believe that having a strong sense of spirituality in our case Christianity really makes a strong and happy person with stability, hope and Gods love. Enough of my ramblings... I hope that you and Arthur are having a wonderful week and I forgot to tell you how lovely you are in your new Valentino lipsticks!!! Of course you always are so wonderful! Many Blessings, love and hugs! XoCammie✨💛🍁🐩🍁💛✨
Cammie, Thank you so much for wonderful comments I enjoyed some good part of it and know that what you say is so very true no self-esteem should be filled at home. Always try to tell my daughters how special they were. And now my granddaughters. There is a Lotta pressure outside though
Wow! Those lipsticks are so beautiful and it looks perfect on your lips. This was a great inspiration and wisdom words for young women. Thank you for sharing it. Have a great day. See you soon💕
Sandra, keep doing what your doing, talking about the issue rather than ignoring it, give the younger generation food for thought, plant the seeds and hopefully and eventually something takes root. We live in such a “filtered” world, and people aren’t seeing the truth in how people really look and no one in reality can match filtered looks, we’d have to teach us/them to keep everything in perspective. “Beauty is, as beauty does.” Love your lipsticks, from one lipstick gal to another. 💕
Donna I really like what you expressed in your post. Everything you said is so true. It’s up to us to mentor these young women who have all the pressures that they have because of social media. Thank you for sharing your thoughts today
It’s heartbreaking to see the young women defining themselves by their bodies. As we grow up we need to know we’re beautiful no matter what happens to us. As women of an older generation we can help a little at a time by building the young women we come in contact with by letting them know they are beautiful as they are and help them feel loved as they are. This was an insightful video. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Beauty really is skin deep, people forget that these days, social media has influenced people to be narcissistic, fake and shallow. It is refreshing to hear you speak about it, I wish the younger generation influenced by just how they look can watch this message you shared today.Although this sounds contradictory,I love lipstick too and want to look put together, would like my outside to reflect my inner self. That sage green looks great on you, really brings out your eyes, and your skin looks glowing. The turquoise ring is pretty too.I also love Avon, their clothes, makeup, shoes, they have really stood the test of time and stays on trend.
You know Sandra good topic ! My mom always just took care of herself but never told me I was cute or pretty or anything! I was bullied as a child for being heavy so I grew up insecure ! But somewhere along my journey I realized I was fun and funny and people loved me for my personality! So I became more confident! I began to emphasize my inner beauty to make me look as good as I can outwardly and it all came together I am 78 and I never had any surgeries or any plastic surgery but am a fanatic about my skin and I enjoy makeup to be the best version of me! I taught my kids to love themselves and always complimented them growing up and now I do it to my grandkids too! My hubby always says Kids are a product of their environment ! So true ! Sad about those girls sitting at that table ! Very sad we base our importance of ourselves solely by our imperfections ! Great topic ! Oh and I keep forgetting about Avon ! Maybe I'll order some ! I use to be an Avon rep myself and they did have great products! Love ya sweet Sandra ! Hugs Barb ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us today, Beth. Avon has incorporated so many wonderful products in their line. Things I used to buy from Anthropologie are now under the Avon brand.
Hello Mrs. Sandra it’s so good to listen to those beautiful adjectives about us women. It’s definitely true, all women are beautiful even if their features are unusual.” In our industrial and third world country the commercial advertising companies have saturated the human so much with their definition of women’s beauty images that sometimes I think that it have becomes an epidemic for millions of women. As a woman who has an adult daughter and nieces I agreed that women are in the battle fields competing to observe and feel beautiful the ways they appear. Your content is a great reminder to us women who have thought that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I believe that beauty is in the heart of the goodness of each person’s action. Thank you Mrs. Sandra for sharing your beautiful wisdom with us!🙏
I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us today. I agree with what you have said. We are living in times where we have so much pressure on us to stay young forever and to be the perfect.
Sandra, that last lipstick color looks fantastic on you! It makes your skin and eyes light up even more than usual. You are such a beautiful and gracious lady in every sense of the word. I share your heartbreak over young girls who don’t realize and value their intrinsic beauty and worth.
Thank you Elle. I really do love lipsticks and I’m so happy that I splurged on these two. They are refillable so the cases can’t be used again. Have a wonderful week❤️
Sandra, I don't comment much but I have to say you are just a lovely woman, with a natural beauty and "spark" of life. I enjoy listening to your viewpoints, which usually resonate with my views. Your hairstyle in this video is soft and lovely and very flattering! :)
I really appreciate your being here even though you don’t comment very often. I am glad to hear from you though and I hope that you will share your thoughts whenever you feel like it. Thanks so much
Dear Sandra, thank You for this new video. I am in Italy, 62,and one of my best friend is 82 . Intresting to have a connection with different aged people. When we go for a glass of wine we say always that we both are young, because our mind is fresh. You have helped me last year by yours videos Have a nice time, With love Sonia
Sonia, Age and youth are a state of mind. What a lovely thing to be able to do is to have a glass of wine with your best friend. Italy is such a beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your thoughts today
I so appreciate your kindness and wisdom! Spending time with you makes me feel like a real friend to you….which I would be if we ever were to meet! Have a great day!
This saddens me, but I remember (in the late 60's - 70's) some of my friends always wishing to look like the "cover girl" from which ever magazine. I always felt comfortable being "me", I was more of a tomboy until high school. My parents were the BEST, never judged, never belittled, never tried to change us, just a ton of love. We have raised our two boys to be the same way. Thanks for sharing this Sandra🙂❤️
I am a firm believer that it all begins in the home. Two parents who give their children self affirming love will grow up with good self images and self-esteem. Awesome job of parenting
You are so right on! Beauty should permeate from within! I’m 65 and have NOT done any work on my face.. I often get mistaken for being in my 50’s.. Just live a natural and healthy lifestyle! So many women I know have a remanufactured Face and they look so artificial..so sad.. I agree with you… aging gracefully and abundantly is beautiful!
Thank you so much, as always, for shining your beautiful light so brightly and for being such an inspiration. I too have felt such heartache with whatever this is that we're going through as a society ~ I've nieces, and other young women in my extended family who are in their 30s and 40s and have had all sorts of elective surgical procedures. A few of these relatives have pre-adolescent children, and I worry about how that need to "fit in" is going to affect these young ones, as they begin their own developmental journeys through the "identity vs. role confusion" stage. I do not understand either. It is heartbreaking, and as helpless as I feel most of the time, I am reminded to be very intentional about being the best role model I can be, and hopefully encourage other young women to feel that it is okay to be oneself and not succumb to the pressures of needing to invasively alter oneself cosmetically in order to fit in. Seeing kids under so much social pressure feels so overwhelming at times, thank you for so gracefully bringing this topic to the light. Much, much gratitude to you Sandra; you are a treasure indeed!💖
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and sharing in on the conversation today. Times have really changed since I was growing up it concerns me about these beautiful young women who don’t know they are.
Thank you Sandra for your inspiring video and for sharing about what those young girls said. I grew up a teenager in the 60s. All the girls wanted to look like Twiggy💃 I didn't look at all like Twiggy I had long red hair and had curves. I decided to create my own style and go with what I liked. After that a boy in my high school said I was the prettiest girl in the school. Lesson learned love yourself.🥰
Thank you Amy for sharing that with us today. It is so true if we embrace our own uniqueness we will stand out above all others. Being yourself is the best Beauty tip ever
Oh my goodness those Valentino lipsticks are beautiful shades. The cases are so beautiful. I think I would have to pull them out of my handbag just to look at them. Lipsticks are my favorite beauty item along with perfume. Self esteem of the younger generation is really on a downward spiral and has been for a number of years. I believe the internet, social media and cellphones have created some of these stressors for younger people. There is no positive reinforcement from the parents. When I was working, I saw so many young (18-25) women having procedures in plastic surgery offices. Some writhing in pain because they were unaware how size 36D breasts were going to feel on their small body frames. Sad but true! You are such a beautiful soul and I really love these chats. I have to plan my visit over to Joe’s soon for some delicious stone crabs. Have a wonderful day Sandra. 😎💄❤️Kathy 😷
Hi Kathy. I think you are so right about this generation of young women. The lipsticks cases are refillable, so that an added plus. Joe’s Stone Crab is a great restaurant. Hope you can come again
Hi Sandra. Looking pretty as always.i enjoy your strolls through town. Everything you said about beauty and appreciating one's own uniqueness is so true. Unfortunately it is something we have to reinforce in our conscience often even as we age due to societal messages. Thank God as we age we do become more comfortable and accepting with who we are. Till the next time Sandra, love to you and your family. ❤
Sandra your so right , beauty comes from within, yes I look in the mirror and see a 70 year old woman staring at me , I do miss how I used to look but I’ve had a life so many lives are cut short for many reasons, So I remind the old lady in the mirror of that , i love your videos and have learnt so much about skin care and make up thankyou x
Hi Sandra, great video! I agree with you on these young girls, they buckle under the pressure of trying to look better most likely caused by social media. Thankfully my 16 year old granddaughter has no interest in make up yet. I think if you are very secure you can escape this pressure. I love the shades of your lipsticks, they are beautiful! Much love, Sheila
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is something I’m so grieved about for my own beautiful daughters and grandchildren. It breaks my heart. Thank you for the voice of truth here! You are a precious mentor to me. 💕💕💕
This video is so timely today, with Facebook and Senate hearing of how young people find their value in social media. Love the first lipstick color best! Avon really deserves a new look today with some great choices at reasonable prices. Keep doing what you are doing Sandra, you have a beautiful smile! Arthur is a lucky man and I can tell he is a man in love with a beautiful woman! Stay blessed.
Sandra, a very inspiring video & sadly, so true. I believe Social mores have made our young kids petrified that they’ll be “less than” & that’s so sad. Kids should be encouraged by their families to be themselves instead of worrying about what others say. It’s very important to “prop up” your children to love themselves as they are,, to confirm their talents, looks & capabilities. If they feel loved by family & friends, Social Media will have less control over them. They need to know & feel perfect as they are & it’s up to parents, grandparents, friends, teachers & society to affirm these beliefs. I so agree with all you have said in this video. I also want to comment on how wonderful & youthful you look with longer hair & this style. I love your curls but have to admit that longer white hair suits you. Everyone around my town with white hair usually has the same short haircut & I blame the hair stylists here in just being lazy. I never could wear my hair short, I need some length to style it & now that I let it grow white, it’s my hair the way I want it. It’s different than most women I know, but it works for me. It’s just to my shoulders but unfortunately, not as curly as yours ( which is a great gift from God) but easy for me to take care of and if I’m not going anywhere, it’s a ponytail, which makes life easy. Loved this video - it’s all so true. Regards, Joan
Joan, regarding my hair, the humidity has died down a bit and it’s easier for me to blow dry my hair and it stays for more than five minutes! When it’s really humid down here I only have to wear it curly because my hair has a life of its own and would never stay straight. I wish I could wear my hair back in a ponytail but it’s not long enough. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I am so happy to have you here and supportive I’ll ask when I’m trying to do here. I am so interested and read every single comment here. We have so many smart and interesting women here in this community, including you. Thank you so much for being here
I so agree with all you have said Sandra. I have the same response that you had when I see, and listen to, young people who don’t value who they are. Yes, Susan Graff, I too am astounded at the absolute poor example and dangerous influence a certain tv family have on our beautiful young people. It’s up to us mothers to affirm our daughters and it is never too late to start. 💕💕
Social media and the breakdown of the family are the culprits. The constant texting causes people to live in an altered state of consciousness ~ a world that does not exist. Not to mention, the toll it will take on their posture as time goes by. Look up! There is a beautiful world waiting to be admired right before our eyes. There is a place for cosmetic intervention such as braces for teeth, as well as birth defects such as cleft palate, etc. However, good grooming, diet, and exercise will do wonders for our looks, our mood, and self-image. Thank you, Sandra, for addressing this trend.
Ratchet cosmetic surgery is is necessary many times. But with young women who have the beauty abuse on their side it hurts me that they want to look like everyone else. Older women they have that personal choice of what they wanna do and I don’t fault them. But really young girls sometimes are not mature enough what altering their bodies is a forever thing
Thank you for sharing. Your mother sounds like she was insecure. My mother is extremely belittling and unsupportive so I totally agree with you.
I can really relate to your story. What we went through, made us better parents. Thanks for sharing.
THANK YOU!! So we'll written and important! All mother's need to read this and take it to heart.
"I have never met an ugly woman in my life." You are such a treasure on UA-cam!!
But it is true, isn’t it? Thank you for your kindness
So well said. Your mother was wonderful for giving you that advice❤️
I also like the poem Desiderata, such great words, also I remember my sister selling Avon and we would play with the lipstick samples,
What fun!
Hi Suzanne, what a as beautiful comment. I will be sure to look up the poem. It’s incredible how words can uplift! Bless you🥀
I absolutely your comments I love.com and have read it over and over again throughout the years.
Absolutely correct. Smart mother.
@@lifewithsandrahart hi can you please tell me what face cream you use please
As I watched this I thought about how shows us what’s on the inside. It radiates and illuminates. Thanks for reminding me. I have a dear friend who never fails to tell me that I’m fabulous, bad hair days, wrinkles and all.
That is a true friend
I have 2 adult daughters and they are beautiful inside and out. Our concentration is on total womanly strength and beauty. I in fact wear more make up than they do. Let your natural light shine through! Each age has its special look. I never let my age define my worth. I love being 66 and although I'm changing, it's fabulous!
Absolutely so true. Thank you
Sandra, you are just gorgeous. Your philosophy of life and your wisdom impressed me so much. By the way you are so right saying that every woman is beautiful. My daughter is 19 and you managed to impress her too! Greetings from Bulgaria
Wow! That is such a nice complement that your daughter enjoyed this as well. Thank you so much and love your way to Bulgaria
Omg you are 83? I love you so much!!! It’s so wonderful you are on and giving such wise valuable gifts of knowledge, information, and inspiration.
Yes. Thank you ever so much I really appreciate your wonderful kindness
You are So Beautiful, Such a Lovely Lady
Great advice as always, Hugs by the Bushels 😙❤🤗💐
Thank you so much Michelle. Age is done the same thing for me. Are used to be very shy and really not confident in myself. But because of circumstances I grew strong and I had to believe in myself to survive. Hopefully these young women will develop that before they start altering they are
This was such a great inspiration. Young woman need to just be their self.
Agreed !
Hi Judie 🙋♀️
Absolutely. Thanks for sharing that thought
I agree with everything you said. Thanks for sharing today
I agree with about our young women.I love the lipsticks especially Valentino's especially because of my precious grandson Valentino.Your a wonderful mother to advertise for your children I love it.I was once an Avon rep too. Thank you for your link to your daughter's Avon link.
Thank you so much Linda. These lipsticks are so beautiful and really Avon has some really wonderful products
I have all great hopes for your decisions in your life
Thank you Sandra. We also need to validate ourselves in the work place.
Honesty is always the best policy
My favorite beauty! Social Media has done a big disservice to young women
Unattainable expectations.
Exactly right. Unattainable expectations
Hi Sandra, Very well said. The mindset of this this younger generation is very concerning & heartbreaking. I have heard many, many, many young people in their 20's (both female & male) say that they are old & they really believe it & are struggling with feeling old in their 20's. This is so very, very sad.
Really is sad but I really don’t know how to change it except at the family level. Whenever we can
This was a perfect video!!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me today. It is true
Hi Sandra, you look beautiful in that green and love the lipsticks.xx
Thank you very much
Yes, a lot of the younger generation have low self esteem over how they look. It’s sad. Avon products are really nice. Blessings. 🥀🙏🥀
Thanks so much Jo. I think you’re right
Loved your video today. I do like beautiful lipstick cases too! Sometimes the procedures make people look worse, then it’s too late. Thank you for sharing.
💜Jeanette Turner
It seems to me that once people start doing procedures they can’t stop. They become addicted. I love those cases also because they are refillable
I left with no make up of course and my head full of messy curls, when they wheeled me in to get the procedure the anesthesiologist looked at me, and said OMG your skin is flawless, they removed my mask to put the mouth guard in, and he said ok I really need to know what you use on your skin, or have you just always just taken care of your skin, I told him I always took care of my skin, he actually wanted to know the products used… i told him what I use and to sum it up that was the best part of my morning… lol
I’m home resting now, and then I see your video… all I can say is at 20-30 year old women should enjoy and savor every one of those years, but I think us mature woman are so wise and as we age we just realize what is important in life… love u Sandra ❤️
you are such a inspiration, and you just glow from the inside out…
If I could give you 10 thumbs up I would 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I am so happy you got through your colonoscopy OK. Doing the cleanse is the worst part of it, isn’t it. What a nice feeling it must’ve been to hear that your skin is so beautiful. It does pay to take care of your skin, doesn’t it. You will look young forever. A compliment like that would make my day
@@lifewithsandrahart the cleanse sure is the worst part, I’m not going to lie, love the anesthesia 😀😀😀😀😀
Greetings Sandra! What a wonderful video! You are just radiant with beauty. I must say, your hair looks fabulous today. Love and blessings ❤🙏
Thank you so very much
I am a 30-year-old woman happy to see such a relevant message today from such a wonderful woman!
Nice color of lipstik Dear Sandra 😍👏
Are they nice
Our motto at school is
"You are enough".
Thanks for the nice chat.
That short sentence says it better than anything. It is the best! Thank you
I can think of a certain tv family that has perpetuated this and it’s sick.
Me too. I know who you’re talking about❤️
Susan Graff Yes, and it's truly sickening!
My niece watched & worshipped this family on their tv show & now sadly her daughters, who are 15 & 18, think less of themselves as does she. It's sad.
Set an example it’s the best we can do and hope that it overrides the social media pressure these beautiful young women are having today
Lovely lipstick💄 color really suits you..❣It brings out your sparkling green eyes..
Thank you. I love lipsticks
Hello Sandra! Beautiful video! Those lipsticks look soo lovely on you. A nice lipstick just makes me feel special too...lol! I hope you have a beautiful day full of JOY .
Isn’t it amazing how just a simple lipstick can make our day I absolutely loved Lipsticks. Thank you for being here
Hello Sandra.. sorry I'm a bit late.
(I didn't know how to store it long term then)
I have very recently taken an interest in it again..
Wow I haven’t thought about Avon in years…my mom was an Avon representative in the 70’s and I was in the 90’s early 2000’s lol
Blessings to you.
She’s so much for sharing your stories about your mother and what a wonderful saying. Here’s a red lipstick for everyone. Thank you again for being here and sharing with us
You not only look so much like my dear Mother that passed away but your thoughts are like her too. She was a loving woman.
It is a wonderful compliment. Thank you
Good Morning Sandra, thank you for all that you do, to keep us informed about beauty and life ❤
Maria thank you
Sandra, you are right! I too have never seen an unattractive person! Beauty comes from within....and You are beautiful inside and outside! I pray those young women will celebrate their youth and thank God for it! It is fleeting for sure....God bless them.
Thank you ever so much Darlene. My thoughts are with this you g generation, too
Sandra, I think in other countries young women do more cosmetic surgery than US, so sad.
Very inspiring program, you have aged to perfection and I have learned so much from your videos.🌹
Thank you ever so much Gloria. I know altering with cosmetic surgery I think it’s a panacea everywhere
Your green blouse looks lovely with your coloring. It really highlights your beautiful green eyes!
Thank you so very much
I love Avon. Yes!! Social media is ruining our future generation! Very sad. I would love to see your jewelry collection. Your always have beautiful accessories which completes your outfits :)
Here is one for you. ua-cam.com/video/wdWucXM13Jw/v-deo.html
Your presentations are always just perfect!
Thanks so much
Love the darker shade on you of your Valentino gorgeous lipsticks. I love bold makeup. Your makeup always looks awesome.
That’s so kind of you to say. Thank you they are really nice lipsticks
Excellent video! Such a beautiful message 🙏
For sharing your thoughts and being here
I am so happy I found your channel.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I really enjoy reading all of your thoughts today.
Very sad , the future generation is being guided by social media and to be truthful us but also what the norm is at home .
I have written a book here twice … to much such a huge conversation.. love the lipstick looks beautiful on you Sandra :)🌷
I agree with you. Too big a discussion and a great problem
Thank you dear Sandra, I always listen to your videos with a smile in my face and I am not a smily person🤓
LOL! You are the best. You made me laugh
Sandra, you made me in tears. Thank you for your eternal beauty inside and out. Your words of wisdom never fail to amaze me.
Thank you so much
Sandra it’s necessary to let the young women of today know how to love themselves❣️ You are so currant in your thinking❣️
Absolutely. It’s up to the women who are their role models like mothers ants and grandmothers to help them see that
What a great subject.
Keep trying Sharon. So far my granddaughter seem to be grounded. I hope it continues.
Such words of wisdom dear Sandra. I'm glad I found you on here. Inspirational as always ♥
So happy to have you, too
Dearest Sandra, thank you for sharing your beauty secrets!
Sending Love and Light and Abundant Blessings your way Sandra xoxo 💋
Thank you so much and all good things and blessings your way
You are absolutely right. We are perfect the way we are. The beauty radiates from inside to outside. We don't need to alter our body.
Absolutely. Embrace who we are because we all are one of a kind
Your shirt color makes your eye color just glow ! :-)
Thanks . I didn’t ever think about that
Liking ourselves and realizing how wonderful we really are is soooo important. We need to be kind to ourselves and each other.
Lipsticks look very pretty on you🌷
Self-love is so very important to our happiness
You’re welcome and thank you Sweet Sandra❤️ I happy you’re having a good week!
Yes I agree even at our age we can be affected by outside influence!
I've never been a lipstick girl but you make it look fun. Btw: I don't see any wrinkles on your face. May God bless you as you bless others.
Oh, the wrinkles are there, but thanks for being so kind!
Wow! Those lipsticks are so beautiful and it looks perfect on your lips.
This was a great inspiration and wisdom words for young women. Thank you for sharing it. Have a great day. See you soon💕
Thanks so much for being here today and sharing your thoughts. Nice to see you
Sandra, keep doing what your doing, talking about the issue rather than ignoring it, give the younger generation food for thought, plant the seeds and hopefully and eventually something takes root.
Thank you Sandra and you’re welcome!
You’re so much for being here and sharing your thoughts about this topic of the young generation of women today and how they feel about their bodies
I am afraid you are right
Thank you for your words Sandra❤️ Great hi from Czech republic 🇨🇿🙋♀️
I love the lipsticks and your hairstyle but your beauty is the lovely smile and sparkling and kindness of your eyes
You are truly so very kind. Thank you
You know Sandra good topic !
I think you saying something to those girls would’ve BOLD in right powerful way- but this video is a prayer!
I hope. It’s up to us older women to be role models for them
Thank you so much for joining in on our conversation. I Thank a Truly is a problem with the young girls today
Those lipsticks are so pretty on you! ♥ Elle
Thank you Elle. I really do love lipsticks and I’m so happy that I splurged on these two. They are refillable so the cases can’t be used again. Have a wonderful week❤️

Oh Sandra, you don’t know it but you are my best friend, you are lovely!
Marisol, that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me in a long time. Thank you ever so much
Sandra, I don't comment much but I have to say you are just a lovely woman, with a natural beauty and "spark" of life.
You have helped me last year by yours videos
Have a nice time, With love Sonia
Sonia, Age and youth are a state of mind. What a lovely thing to be able to do is to have a glass of wine with your best friend. Italy is such a beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your thoughts today
I so appreciate your kindness and wisdom! Spending time with you makes me feel like a real friend to you….which I would be if we ever were to meet! Have a great day!
I’m sure we would be friends. I appreciate your being here
I love your videos, Sandra! Thank you❣️
I am so happy to have you here. Thank you
This saddens me, but I remember (in the late 60's - 70's) some of my friends always wishing to look like the "cover girl" from which ever magazine.
Sandra what’s inside of you shines from the beautiful outside 👍it’s so nice seeing Arthur he’s looking well 👍
Thank you so much. He is feeling better. Thank you for noticing
You are so right on! Beauty should permeate from within!
I’m 65 and have NOT done any work on my face.. I often get mistaken for being in my 50’s..
Just live a natural and healthy lifestyle! So many women I know have a remanufactured
Face and they look so artificial..so sad..
I agree with you… aging gracefully and abundantly is beautiful!
Aging gracefully for me and for you, seems to be the way we want to live
Great story and message. I really liked the first lipstick color. So beautiful on you. I’m going to check it out.
Well I love also about these Valentino lipsticks is the case is refillable.
Such kind words spoken in this video Sandra! Also, I enjoy when you show us and talk about your products you use! ❣️
I’m happy that you enjoyed this. Thank you
Oh my goodness those Valentino lipsticks are beautiful shades.
This is such an important message that is needed today more than ever before! Thank you for sharing!!! Keep sharing the love!🩷
I could not have said it better. Thank you
Sandra your so right , beauty comes from within, yes I look in the mirror and see a 70 year old woman staring at me , I do miss how I used to look but I’ve had a life so many lives are cut short for many reasons, So I remind the old lady in the mirror of that , i love your videos and have learnt so much about skin care and make up thankyou x
Do you thank you. I am always so happy to hear from you
Such beautiful video as you are Sandra! You are such a inspiration! 🙏💕
Thank you so much
Hi Sandra, great video!
Agreed , and how about the reality shows of the past and present ?
I agree about social media. Lots of pressure on them
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is something I’m so grieved about for my own beautiful daughters and grandchildren. It breaks my heart. Thank you for the voice of truth here! You are a precious mentor to me. 💕💕💕
I have the same thoughts
This video is so timely today, with Facebook and Senate hearing of how young people find their value in social media. Love the first lipstick color best! Avon really deserves a new look today with some great choices at reasonable prices. Keep doing what you are doing Sandra, you have a beautiful smile! Arthur is a lucky man and I can tell he is a man in love with a beautiful woman! Stay blessed.
Thank you for joining in on the conversation today and sharing your thoughts with us. I really appreciate it
Sandra, a very inspiring video & sadly, so true. I believe Social mores have made our young kids petrified that they’ll be “less than” & that’s so sad. Kids should be encouraged by their families to be themselves instead of worrying about what others say. It’s very important to “prop up” your children to love themselves as they are,,
to confirm their talents, looks & capabilities.
Unfortunately that TV family that you were talking about has had such an influence on so many and it’s not constructive, for sure
A few days ago I popped into your chanel and haven't stop watching since... What a beautiful woman you are inside out! God bless you! 😍🤗
Thanks so much for letting me know! Welcome!
