What else could be said about the Phenomenal Karen Carpenter. Like her brother Richard, I think they were absolutely brilliant in what they did and they made it look very easy. Richard was the master of arranging and picking the songs and Karen was that one and only voice, A voice unlike anyone else who has ever lived or who will live in the future. No one else could ever touch the voice of Karen Carpenter. She not only touched your heart so deeply, but your soul right down to the core. I still get chills all over when I hear her sing. Without a doubt the greatest voice I have ever heard in my life. Karen will always be so loved and so missed forever

I really relate to the words of this song. They’re quite direct and clear eyed. And almost brutally true despite the sweet music they’re sung to.
‘I used to say no promises, let’s keep it simple. But freedom only helps you say goodbye ‘
That’s about right. Going through one relationship after another while you naively wait for that perfect one to come along. And finally realising Prince Charming only lives in fairy tales.
‘I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect world. And fool enough to think that’s what I’ll find.’ Yes indeed.
‘I know I need to be in love, I know I’ve wasted too much time.’
Great message for all the people out there blithely waiting for that perfect one to come along. I hope they all find someone good enough before missing out finding anyone.

From what I can gather Karen had a difficult relationship with her mother, her brother Richard was the favourite. Richard was her favorite. At the end Karen was down to 78 pounds. Gained some back but it never took. You're so right,#, People should be kind to one another. Love your reations to my dear Karen. As you said in one video, " She's a theif of hearts " Thanks again KSO. God richly bless you.

Karen had a God given voice to sing, and I don't think she every realized it, as she would have preferred to play the drums, where she was all smiles, instead of being the Superstar that she became in front of the band. She went way to early.
John Bettis, who co-wrote 36 of their songs, said in an interview, "When I first heard her voice, she sounded just as you hear her now. She was only 16 years old at that time." RIP Karen.

Karen's voice is instantly recognizable within the first 3 notes of any song she sings. As a fantastic vocalist; she considered herself to be a better drummer.

Karen had a very very smooth voice . No auto tune on her voice. I love it when she hits those notes that are flat .

I've never seen a reaction to their version of a song called Solitaire. If you want more great vocals by Karen... on one of their lesser known songs.

It's too bad that Karens life was so short lived. She, and her brother was a true phenominal act. They could have gone so far. Karens voice was tender, and well meaning. You could tell she just felt every word she sang. It was a true gift from God. I miss this "Golden Duo". They both brought such magic to their songs. I, myself, will never forget them, as I truly felt every word in my heart! Thank you both for bringing such beautiful music into my Life.. God bless, and may Karen rest forever in Peace..

This is one of my very favorite songs by The Carpenters, and you found a gorgeous performance!! THANK YOU!! This song is from their album, "A Kind of Hush." While the title song is probably the most famous from this album, two other cuts from the album always hit me to my core: "One More Time" and "I Have You." If you can find time to react to those two songs, I would appreciate it!

I remember when she passed. We were all shocked, more so because we couldn't grasp the reality of it, particularly when we all found out why. It just didn't make sense. It didn't seem real. Thanks for the video.

I'm always amazed at how people that seem to have everything still despair. It reminds me of the line from The Matrix where the Agent says that humans are defined by their misery.
