A lack of more painted thundercav, but also just because of points. A Battle leader is 80 points, or ~2.67 thundercav models and I'm not sure it provides 2.67 thundercav worth of value. Maybe if I can connect all 7-8 thundercav models in a charge, but quite often they all can't make it into combat. I'd rather bring more stuff. But YMMV
Anything under 2 inches is ignored for movement and the ruins all have openings where the height is 2 inches or less. You can’t end movement on top of the sections that are less than 2 but anything may move over them. As per GW open rules.
@eyesedragon86 GW open faq clarifies that they can under certain conditions. I’ll try and hunt that down for you tomorrow. We play locally with the GW open FAQs not WTC and sometimes that can cause some confusion.
If you run three max squads of Thunderwoves with BL and Captain, you can screen Votann hard and run them over, take Stormlance and abuse -1 hit/wound
That's what I'm thinking! I always underestimate just how much the -1 hit/wound skews the math for most shooting attacks.

How do you move TWC through the ruins? They are MOUNTED so they cannot ignore it?

Also the gap I moved through on turn 4 is exactly (or slightly larger than 60mm) so the thundercav can fit through it.

So you are allowed to rapid ingress first turn? Is that a ruling in house or a tournament faq local?
The unit has an enhancement that allows the unit to arrive 1 turn earlier than normal. It’s called hunters instinct in the storm lance detachment.
