Everyone is impressed by the fact that the R35 is fast, so why is nobody talking about that Evo? That thing is really impressive to even be that close, considering it lost in almost every way (launch control, twin vs single turbo, dct vs manual, 700 vs 675 hp, etc.).

This one was clear from the start haha ETR has every advantage other than weight by a couple hundred pounds and the shifting makes up for that in space, definitely a lot more entertaining to watch than the hoonicorn destroy cars it has no room racing haha can't wait for more of this series!

Having an Evo X, I can say I don't aspire to a GT-R, although many do leave the Evo for the GT-R. I just hate the way those things look, and the DCT. So when I got another car, it was a S550 Mustang Coyote, something I did like the looks of and had a manual. I'll probably be keeping these cars forever, I don't think a good looking manual car will ever come out of Japan, and the new Nissan Z, COULD be close, but my Mustang already makes it obsolete on arrival, and the only other way to get one is go older, and the EPA is probably closing the door on the last few cars like the Stang. Lastly, my Evo has a Driven Fab kit with a Precision 6626 and 280 degree cams, and the Mustang is NA semi built revs to 8500, have vids on the channel.

That EVO feels like he has my WRX problem, he needs a wet track to launch. It takes him forever to get into boost. I love manuals, but in a game of inches, losing inches every shift is brutal.
Nope he just bogged the 1st 2 launches. The bonus race he finally got it right. Hard to launch an evo with a big turbo setup. Gotta get it just right to come out hard out the hole. His shifts were 100 percent on point. You cant shift a manual faster than that. The GTR is just a faster car. Hard to beat AWD auto from a dig. Car drives itself. Evo just needed more power to beat it.
@@mperez2496 but when you go back and watch the vid, the GTR gained distance every time the EVO driver shifted. that's what happens when you're driving an auto trani vs a stick shift. the GTR guy doesnt have to do anything but launch the car correctly and then hold down the gas pedal until the finish line lol

I think the fact that it's a time attack Evo at heart means they didn't spend a ton of time dialing in drag launches but the car itself is pretty fast once it gets going.
That Evo driver has some superhuman reaction timing or just plain timing in general..Watching it back at 1/4 speed slo-mo, he may have jumped a little bit in round 1, but round 2 he left the EXACT moment the hands began to drop.

Like the commentator said in the beginning. I've own an Evo X and loved it and outgrew me so I upgraded to you know what... I mean It's a different class tho. I get it the feel of the analog vs digital is totally different, the thrill of driving a stick is so much better and put you more in control. How I wish the R35 comes in manual option... however the future is now and everything is updating so I have to adapt... Even stock vs stock not the same but I know just for the sake of the showmanship and comparisons... Great show as always 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
