It is soothing for me because, it reminds me of my childhood. All of my grandpa's, yes I had more than 2, and my dad worked in their shops doing all sorts of things. So when I watch these videos I can almost smell the aromas and feel like I was a kid again and in the shop with one of them.

64 thumb downs!? He showed us an amazing piece of stock. His interpretation of that burl finished and shared the process along the way. To those 64 I say, “Lighten up Francis!”
It might have something to do with the material. All those pits freak some people out. I think it looks good, but a little creepy. Still wouldn't give it a thumbs down. I may not be crazy about the material, but the workmanship is top knotch.
Im not someone who disliked it but i also cant seem to figure out turning wood into a vase or some kind of bowl with no practical use is impressive?this has been a trade for literally thousands of years just the same as blacksmiths. Blacksmiths serve a purpose tho lol what exactly is this?
I have to say that i did prefer the holes in this piece. That being said the colour of the resin you used was perfect for the wood. Yet another glorious piece of art. 👏👏👏
For me, the most satisfying thing is that final polish. Watching those shimmers intensify and then seeing the final product when the lathe comes to a stop. Beautiful workmanship!
When the video is so good it speaks for itself. No background music, voiceover, flashy graphics or gimmicks needed - just an artist, his raw materials, tools and amazing talent & skills! 👍👏👏👏
I'm absolutely amazed what you can do with those wood-turning tools of yours. This is beautiful. I've watched you work enough that I know something amazing is always going to come out of your efforts, but it's still beyond what I can imagine and always fascinates me. Seeing the end result yes, but also the process. I think what I enjoy the most is you inventing on the spot. You stop, turn your piece in different directions, apparently see the vision in your mind's eye and jump right in. It must have taken you years and years and years to achieve the abilities that you apparently possess in order to do these types of beautiful pieces out of almost nothing. And I'm sure part of the process is you being able to see what you can make in your imagination then putting it to work and having it come out so beautifully. Thank you for another restful and worthwhile video. Carolyn D
I understand about time lapse and fast-forward camera and playback operations. So, I can't even begin to imagine the countless hours your beautiful creations must take! Bravo, sir. You are very talented. I am inspired to once again try my hand at turning something on my small lathe.
I love your skill and creativity. It is very satisfying to watch you turn a piece of wood, with no identifiable characteristics into a unique and beautiful useable household item. Though to be honest I love the moment when you finish sanding and then highlight the spots and lines once hidden. Simply inspiring.
This man is something special, I visited his website and read about his fate and that Andy Phillip has 30 years of professional experience. a serious back disease does not go into it deeply. And yet the man does such beautiful things. They are expensive and deserved but one day I will own an Andy Phillip artwork but I have to save and am not rich. Just two words for his work: beautiful, amazing. And that is not done in a day that takes time. Dear Andy Phillip, I wish you and yours the best. Thank you for all of these beautiful works of art. With this you save nature and such people are the silent heroes of everyday life (no compliments, just the truth)! Well done. 🙌👍👌✨👏. With regards Black
Great job Andy, It was nice seeing you turning one of my favorite woods to turn. That Burl is just stunning amongst that brilliant chatoyance and color. Mulberry darks to this deep toasted honey. When I saw you gouging out the nub I thought you had lost it and put a hole in the side instead. Yet, as usual you do mot disappoint and give us something to incredible to see. I did not count but I would guess you used about every turning tool you had on the vessel. It is a wood that will beat you and your tools up. But, once you get through the rough spots it takes a sharp edge beautifully with minimum sanding. Great job Andy, thank you for showing off that beautiful wood.
I love mulberry trees! My Granny had one outside her country house, and used to make mulberry jelly, which was so good. 😋. Beautiful piece that you made!
This was a lovely video and beautiful result. I will be honest, there was a brief moment when I saw the upload and thought that this was going be an April Fools video and you were going to just turn a piece of wood until there was nothing left [that would be funny btw], then I remembered it is April 2nd.
WOW! That was amazing. How you turned a moss covered old piece of wood in to such a beautiful object, I'm so impressed. You are so very talented. Thanks for filming and sharing. DM.

Perfect choice on the epoxy color, it almost looks natural like you didnt even use it. What a gorgeous piece, thanks for the video we all appreciate it!
After watching how it's made ,I find it ashaming to even negotiate the price of this masterpiece if I am to buy it.It's beyond handicraft...it's philosophical how you take that natural piece of wood with all its imperfections and add epoxy resin to it to make it perfect .Polishing (machine) makes it eternal.
