Wow! I TRUELY needed a scorecard to keep up with all of the scandals among all of the relations to this woman. She was like a cat with 9 lives. Great video, Jon!
Remarkable woman, even more amazing that she managed to keep her head. She sort of won anyway, look how far their bloodline has travelled! Thanks you 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
To cross Henry twice and live is in itself a miracle. I have no idea why she felt she would be able to get away with any of these marriages.. thank you for the video.
You’re absolutely right-crossing Henry VIII twice and surviving is nothing short of miraculous. Margaret’s boldness and determination were certainly remarkable, if not a bit risky!
When your love life doubles as political chess, staking a claim for personal happiness takes some serious courage. Margaret Douglas was certainly no stranger to taking risks!
The web of alliances, rivalries, and loyalties between the Stewarts and Tudors is endlessly fascinating, and I’m so glad you enjoyed learning about Margaret Douglas’s role in it.
@HistoryRoadshow Well, Jon, it's probably because my cousin did genealogy on our Plumb family ancestors. He found that instead of being Borderers on the English side that they actually came from Edinburgh and were descendants of King Robert II, the first Stewart king of Scotland. (To be honest, I asked which bar sinister we were entitled to wear, and Jimmy said that no, we were legit.) With a name like James Elliott Thompson, and our Granny was a Johnson and Grandpa a Plumb, I think that it's safe to say that we have a fair amount of Scottish ancestry. Also, one of the branches of my mother's family were Sept to the McGregors. Border Rievers all: Your kine are our kine. But as 100% Texan, we respect the local laws. Talk about a conundrum! 😆😂🤣😅😆😊
I love your tudor videos, i love learning all things English History in general but i feel like the tudors, figures in the war of the roses just fascinate me the most
The Tudors and the Wars of the Roses are endlessly fascinating periods, full of drama and intrigue. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos-it’s a pleasure to share these incredible stories!
Hi Jon, awesome live history video I enjoyed it. How are you doing? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. Have a great weekend see you next video 😊
Archibald Douglas that old bully ! Another awesome video narrated by my Favorite Historian 🎉😊 I'm glad Mary I had such a close friend in Margaret. You don't hear much about who or whom was on Mary I's *good* side
It’s true, Margaret and Mary I’s friendship isn’t talked about nearly enough. I’m thrilled you enjoyed this look into their bond and Margaret’s incredible life.
WOW who says the woman of those times didn't wheeled any power?? This lady sure spent her whole life providing how she could play all the games as well as the men!! And she did it so well to get the power she wanted for her family..
Margaret’s life is such a fascinating example of how women in Tudor times could navigate power and politics. Her ambition and strategy were truly ahead of her time.
She had it hard like any otheir noble woman of the time she navigated threw a. World full of men but she was strong and amazing women. Of here time all threw love life and everything in-between.

Margaret’s life was so eventful-it’s amazing how she managed to navigate all those scandals and still come out on top. Thank you for watching Trish.

Keeping her head in the Tudor court is an achievement in itself! Margaret definitely played her cards well, and her legacy has traveled far and wide!

Many of the royal ladies stumped for their own marital (and personal) happiness. Some were more successful than others. Who could blame them?

Thanks Jon! Excellent video again!😅😂❤
Glad you enjoyed it Theresa, thank you as always for watching
I had to rewind twice to make sure I heard that right- “often away losing battles” 💀 😂
Margaret’s life was a bit of a losing streak in some ways, but she never gave up. And, if it got you rewinding, it must have been worth the drama!
Love learning new stuff. Interesting episode. Keep them coming.
Thank you as always, Mary Ann

When she discovered Mary Queen of Scots was innocent she should have helped secure her release.

Margaret Douglas’s life was indeed filled with challenges, but her strength and resilience truly made her stand out as an amazing woman of her time.
