You need a mppt circuit between thermal modules and load. The best is to have a storage after mppt like li-ion or supercaps to supply peak power. Another consideration is to have a continuous cooling like radiator or a fan because you have to have a continuous heat flow to guarantee the delta temperature. For now I think is a good start. Compliments.

Wow! I'm just so impressed w/you & that stove. There's no end to the possibilities what you can do w/one of your stoves.
Before I went into the medical field. I went to school for electronics in high school, my Dad made me bc are whole family worked @ A TV factory. And to help him in his electronics repair shop fixing Tv's, VCRs, & stereo equipment. It was free labor for him.
I didn't really want to work for my Dad @ his shop. I was young & it didn't excite me. I just wanted to work @ the factory & volunteer w/the fire & rescue, it played $7.00 a call if you was @ the scene but you didn't have to do anything just show up & you still got paid. It was exciting & you never new what to expect on each call.
I didn't know about those fire/ice generators for a long time, one side you put hot to, & the other side up put cold to & it generates power to charge your electronics. There so cool how they work.
I love your design w/the stove. Mine is a large coffee can that I made & it's fueled by sticks, the little square generator is glued to the side w/wires & the connectors for whatever you want to charge. It works ok, but your setup looks a thousands times better & I know it's more effective then mine is.
I just want to thank you for sharing your awesome work w/us (me). Sorry for that long message but I thought I needed to give kind of my back story on my electronics background.
I do have a question: I would like to know why the water? And is there another reason why you put the drain pipe on it besides to drain the water out. Would the hot water be safe to like wash your pots & pans or your hands in it? Is the hot water toxic?
I go by if it has 3 uses then I carry it, bc it's worth it's weight. If it only does one thing, then I'm going to leave that home & find something that can do multiple uses. ***Exp. A screw driver is good, but a multi tool is better.*** I hope you Understand what I'm saying. Sometimes I don't understand what I'm trying to say... lol... I was just curious.
Thank you again. Be safe & God bless us all durning this dang COVID-19 virus,
    Chris from Missouri

Hi, Chiris. Thank you for sharing your story.
The main reason for filling the water is that water helps to cool the thermoelectric element. The greater the temperature difference at both ends, the higher the power. So I thought it was effective to use water. And I thought it could be used to warm the surroundings using warm water. You need to drain the treated water and fill it with cold water to maintain power. So, I attached a drain first. I think I will need an intake tube now. It is not yet known how harmless the warmed water is chemically. It requires attention and research. Thank you. Stay safe.

@@campingtogether thank you & you stay safe also. We all need that right now. I hope you didn't think I was being harsh, bc I wasn't. I was just wondering. I didn't know you had to put cool water in regular. I do see your point on a fill value now.
Have a great day or night, whatever the time difference is... lol... it's neat how these days we can talk all across the world just on a UA-cam video.... lol... just think what we'll going to be able to do in the future. Like beam me up Scotty. A play off of star trek. How fun that will be. Take care.

Great job! I really like the design of the stove and generator. Sadly, the peltier modules are quite inefficient. Well, let's hope for new efficient modules that can create bigger power output. I still think that there is huge potential in thermoelectric generators. Your design looks really good. Would like to see more thermoelectric designs from you!

Consider adding a small external tank and using an unpowered thermosiphon system to circulate the water. cool water goes in the bottom and hot flows out the top. No power or pump is required to circulate the water. Wood stoves have been used in this fashion to heat and circulate domestic hot water for many years. I grew up with one.

    Hi
    Great job!!!!
If you want to have more power, refrigerator and 60 psi air to run a drill on air pressure you can an do it.
    1. You need a battery storage bank.
    Bigger arrays cheap.
Get a piece of copper pipe 3 inches in diameter by 3 inches long. Hook up copper wire to it both sides. Seebeck effect. Hook the battery up in the right spot. Then connect the batteries to an aluminum car radiator a few feet away from the stove. And you got way more power.
With more power you can do MORE things like do refrigeration instead of electricity on the thermal couple.
    Or run a water pump.
With a water pump you can get 60 PSI compressor air to run a drill, grinder off compressor air.
I will show you if you want. You got way more heat than your are using. BTU to power

The only good thing about thermoelectric elements is that they are small, but they are not very efficient, as your oven is, develope your stove first so it burns the woodgas, just look for "gasifier stove" if you don't know it already, easy to make with this container system as you use it, definitely worth a try. Gasifier systems produce strong drafts by the fire that sucks air in, your oven does it already and could be used aswell for a turbine system, but gasifiers do that more constant, you don't set the size of the fire through setting the drafts, aslong the gasifier is doing its job, the draft is there all the time. Also instead of placing the water tank beneath the oven, place it on top and make a steam machine and water cooker just by the way.
Your oven is nice, don't get me wrong, but since it is a developing project, I think some criticism is helpful for you. Keep on bro 👍

Hi, I see that you can make it better, while avoiding overheating. That is my opinion only. I ordered GStove, so I deep in expanding it's usage like chimney soup cooking (while main plate use for roasting)and thermoelectricity- peltier.
1- peltiers are connected continuously, not parallely.
2-air cooling is the must for handheld devices, don't need that big PC cooler, that 1 piece aluminum is enough.Fan is better, but for auxiliary battery.Avoid attach it over the main plate, because it can not be cooled down by cool air, better is at stove's side or chimney outside.
3-For smartphone charging , use module boost dc-dc 0,9-5v USB is the most.

You notified that the water heated up over time due to radiant heat from the stove, so you can try to make an radiator with a coil and make it outside for an cool air and a mini 5v water pump to make circulate from the container to coil in a loop and that can make the water cool all the time.
Ps : the mini 5v water pump can powered directly from the converter you made and i consumpt just 0.6 amps × 5 volts = 3 watt 🥰

I don't think using that silicone is a good idea, as you might well now, the TEC/TEG needs a high-temperature differential in order to generate more V and consequently more power. By adding the silicone (though low thermal conductivity) you are adding an extra "bridge" (parallel resistance always decreases overall resistance) for the heat to go from hot side to cold side (even if silicone is low thermal conductivity, air's is even lower).
As general advice, work the most on ensuring the best thermal contact between the heat source and hot side of the TEG (thermal paste & pressure) do the same for the cold side and make sure to not thermally shortcut the TEGs

you don't use disolinated water? what if i had a larger battery and inverter? that paste you put on between the cell and the generator is that called thermite paste? would it be possible to use the heated water flow to cool water flow to heat a small horse tr-off that was converted into a makeshift hot-tub? plus all of yr heat that can produce team and increase the thermal output is mostly on-top of the unit, wouldn't you get more output if yr thermoelectric generator was closer to the hottest part of the unit? or is that too much output to input fore this de-zine?...

Watching this progression is great. You seem to find new ways of making me want on of your stoves. The first model was cool but now we are at the super awesome amazing model.
Really is a great idea throw wood on charge up the laptop in the middle of nowhere. Can’t wait for your next idea. I don’t know about everyone but I enjoy when people leave in problems like holes not lining up. I’ve did that one a bunch. Never thought about making the plate into giant washers like you did. But little things like that.
One last thing the coolant water is that still ok after use or does it get contaminated (different metals or sealant toxins) just curious.
Thanks for the wonderful videos an stay safe

If that is used to power a fan to blow into the stove, it would reach higher temps, stoking the fire which would make more electricity, wouldn’t having the thermo above the stove capture more heat?

    • @campingtogether
      @campingtogether  4 роки тому +1

I think it is important not to simply need high temperature, but to make the temperature difference between both ends of the device large. It requires a certain level of heating and extreme cooling.

    • @campingtogether
      @campingtogether  4 роки тому
