I love that you did it as a way to give back to someone who has given to you. Everytime I'm asked which celebrities I would make a pair for that is always where my mind goes - who has enriched my life through their talent?
Totally agree! This made it infinitely more meaningful and way to cooler to me than just making another pair for a celebrity who you don’t have any connection to. In that case all you’re hoping for is as large of a boost to your following as possible. Which can still end up being very hollow

Is it okay to put tape on top of an already painted area? (Not able to make a proper stencil so thinking of hand making it out of masking tape).

so I was doing a custom pair of vans slip ons and my plan was to do 2 coats of gold with 2 soft and detailed linework on top in black but when I tried with 2 soft black the paint just slid off but when I used just straight black paint without 2 soft I was able to scrape off the paint easily. Do you know a way to make the paint not scrape off but also not just slide off or glob on?
Did you heat set the gold layers?
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Yes 3-5 minutes after each coat at about 250 fahrenheit
@@lj7436 got it! Paint shouldn’t be scraping off in that case. Something musta been up with the black paint. If you’re just doing detailed linework on top you’d be fine skipping out on the 2soft to prevent bleeding but there’s no reason it would scrape off jormally
