You can tell if you put the ink up to the light and turn it up slightly toward the light. It should have a hint of copper or brownish color reflecting from the marker used to make the signature.
Unless it's bought directly from her official website (or via an official partner), it's not really possible to know for sure that the signature is real or fake. Fans who collect autographs (and even fans who have seen lots of pictures of her autograph over the years) have more of an instinct of what looks real and there's a Reddit community where you can ask for their advice on autographs you're thinking of buying - www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwiftAutographs/ Another thing to consider is the item itself. Is it something she ever autographed in large quantities? For example autographed reputation CDs weren't ever sold on her website, which makes it a lot less likely that somebody would have one to sell. If the seller has told a story about how they met Taylor and got the autograph and the details seem wrong, go with your gut and avoid buying. In terms of these newer releases, if a seller is selling an autographed folklore, evermore or Fearless Taylor's Version that's sealed and the autograph appears to match ones that she signed around the same time, it's most likely genuine. It's not impossible for a seller to remove the packaging, draw a signature and then reseal, but it's a lot of extra work. There might be some genuine signatures on Amazon but there's also probably a lot of scams out there so be careful! If you're unsure don't risk it.
@@KatesAdventures ok thx u so much for the advice!! where do you recommend buying from? im not sure when taylor will sell her signatures on her website sadly i hope she does soon
@@4doors167 I don't have any good recommendations other than her website, anywhere else is a mixture of genuine autographs and scammers. Taylor recently sold signed Fearless (Taylor's Version) albums so it might be a while before there's more...although they may also come back onsale for a second time, it's difficult to tell. If you're not already, sign up the mailing list so you know when they're available, they're usually only around for a few days.
After seeing how they were being signed (in a recent video Taylor posted) I can definitely understand how they get smudged. I can't imagine how long it takes her to sign everyone's booklets, I would definitely be trying to get them done as fast as possible too if it were me!
Hi, Kate! I'd like you to answer these two questions, please (: 1. What do you think about people that have like 12 signed Evermore? (any kind of opinion, positive or negative, doesn't matter) 2. Nowadays, how much do you think a signed Evermore costs? It's difficult to get one in my country. :(
Hi! Thanks for watching :) 1. This is a tough one, morally it doesn't feel great to me but I suppose I don't know the circumstances behind why they have 12 evermores or what they're planning to do with them. If they were bought from the website to immediately sell to the fans who missed out for a huge profit, I don't like that. On the flip side, if they bought 12 to pass onto people who couldn't buy them from the website and they were sold on at almost zero profit (basically the price on the website plus postage costs and fees), that doesn't bother me. If someone has bought 12 to keep to themselves, I don't understand the motivation but ultimately they're not doing any harm. I feel like you could ask 100 people that question and get different answers though, buying the signed albums as an investment in the hope that they will later be worth more is a reason that people may have chose to buy the CDs and it's not illegal. And if the situation was flipped and somebody said they had 10 signed copies of Speak Now that they had held onto until they were worth more, the general reaction would probably be along the lines of "Wow, I wish I'd thought to do that". So ultimately it's a question of morals and what feels right, which differs from person to person. 2. I think value depends on where you go, the CDs were sold in the US and most of the stock was available to US residents so that's where prices would be the lowest (but there are of course a lot of people who still missed out). Elsewhere, some lucky fans were able to get the international stock, send it to a forwarding address or ask a friend for help but ultimately there are probably much fewer copies that exist outside of the US. Having a quick look on eBay, the average selling prices at the moment appear to be $85 to $100 before postage and fees. If future buyers refuse to pay that, it could drop but most likely it will stay the same or maybe even increase as time goes by and there's less on the market. I'm curious to know what your answer to question 1 is like compared to mine. Good luck on your search, I hope you're able to find one at a good price!
Hi, Kate. Just a quick follow up to our conversation. Received my signed FEARLESS disc yesterday. There were 20+ stars, mostly dark green, beige and white. Because it's a 2-disc set there's no tray to hold the stars. (Yes, it's a "high class" worry). The signature is large. I think you'll like it. Perhaps the stars signify a thanks for supporting her first venture to reworking her vintage material. Glad we were able to get in on the preorder. Cheers, JB.
Ah sounds fab! Mine are still on the way to my US address so I reckon it'll be another couple of weeks until they get to me. Thanks for sharing your experience James :)
I paid $13 each for FOLKLORE and EVERMORE discs, plus postage & tax. Each had multiple stars, mostly gray, green, white and light brown. I put them inside the disc tray for safe keeping. No hearts but each signature is quite neat. The FOLKLORE cover has a larger one because there's more room on front. Enjoyed your video & am glad you're happy with what you received. A few days ago I got in on the signed remakes of her older album. That one was $19 Not bad. Look forward to seeing this.
That's a good idea to put them in the disc tray, I've never thought of that. I know some people make them into a display and that looks super cute too. I'm excited to see what the Fearless signatures are going to look like, I think there's a lot more space on the cover design for fitting in a signature which hopefully made it a slightly more comfortable process when she was signing so many. Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience!
Saw the folklore autograph. Did not buy it cause it was sold out and I already had the cd. On one of the limited edition covers but one day I saw it from social that it was back in stock. So I quickly bought the cd. Not for the cd just the autograph. So I’m just keeping it shrink wrapped since I got another copy And I forget what place I saw it but someone said they got her cats hair in the package. lol.
Glad you got a signed folklore 🙂 Lol imagine receiving one with a cat hair, I suppose it makes sense that that could happen. I was convinced my Speak Now autograph included a pumpkin spice cookie crumb but I think that was wishful thinking on my part! Thanks for watching!
I got mine too with an address in US but the guy had to open it for me to cross it to Mexico, so I only received the CD, I didn't got the stars ⭐ mine has some smudging too I was excited for that, and trying to find any finger print 🤣
Oh no! I remember when my first Taylor autograph came, it was a Speak Now lithograph and Taylor had talked about how she'd been signing them at her kitchen table and made pumpkin spiced cookies. I was CONVINCED I had a cookie crumb in the frame with the lithograph. I wouldn't have even noticed whatever speck of dust I was looking at if I hadn't seen her tweet 🤣 Thanks for watching!
@@KatesAdventures Woow that's a great experience 🙊 this is my only signed CD or anything. I'm so happy 😁 it was expensive for me $632 Mexican pesos. But I don't regret it.
😂 I try but not very hard. There's certain things I've realised I don't care about and they're easy for me to miss out on (I haven't bought a TS t-shirt since the Red era) but other things I find it very hard to pass on (blankets, signed CDs, concert tickets, hats....) Thanks for watching!
