Timing is live, Matt. I am taking my grandson fishing this weekend, and this fly will be great. It will be his first time flyfishing. Thanks for all of your great content.

Hay friend.. I tye a fly I call the Cheatho, it is a hook of the fish size you hunting for (what will easly fit in there mouth) and tan /yello string and run the thread all the way down well into the bend of the hook (I like to get as far in the the bend as I can and still hold the fish) and then use cinnamon caddis dubbing and noodle wrap it back to the eye and then com back behind where the head is and do your finish. Fish it with along the bank action. The clearer the water the better.

Great pattern, Matt. Thanks for sharing. An easy way to split the rubber legs is to stretch them and let them snap back...works every time.

That looks like it’ll fish. Just different enough from the gill getter that I think I’ll tie some up and give them a try. Thanks for the video.

The first one, Guil getter is a killer fly. I tied some in chartreuse and got pan fish and massive smallies on it. This past weekend got a 21” smallie with it. Will give this one a go as well.

Nice one! Thanks Matt! I’ve hardly fished in over a month. Too hot during the day, and too busy to go at night. We need rain here. Creeks are drying up, and rivers are becoming puddles. Worst drought I can remember. Take care Matt and go catch some fish for me! 🙂👍🎣👌

Hi Matt. Another nice little bug that’ll definitely satisfy. You had black and brown chenille on hand needing variegated, you can twist both together to get the effect but may build up bulk. I’m always looking forward to seeing your next video. Thanks for sharing the third pattern with us.

I don't do a whole lot of fishing for panfish, but when I do I use a PA style green weenie in worm green color. I've caught panfish, bass, and carp on it.

Thank you Matt for the quick response to this request. Greatly appreciated buddy. Glad to have the final fly to this family of 3 flies. This 3 part series will make an incredible arsenal to have on hand. All 3 episodes will definitely provide some fun and effective tying. Thank you my friend. God bless.

I’ve tied something like this without the legs in light green body and black wing case for late fall early winter cutthroat. Was almost tying a classic and didn’t know. Great video.

Yep another long leg blob panfish fly. The one I had on this weekend was orange and black rubber legs and pheasant tail colored body size 12, unweighted, dropper in front of a streamer, then in front of a bead head pheasant tail size 16. I caught several bluegill and green sunfish, almost exclusively on the on the rubber leg special. until, I gave the fly to a power line after an errant hookset.

That family of flies is deadly. Tet slow sink seems to entice them and it's a sturdy, quick tie. Thanks.

Nice fly Matt. I wouldn't call the Gill Getter fly an attractor necessarily, the stripes on the back make it look a lot like a Colorado Potato Bettle, but the others, yep, straight up attractors. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.

If you did a floating one with shorter legs would look like a mouse... and no wing casing

    • @wayne00k

I was thinking that same thing... mostly to put one over on my buddy :)
Catching the morning's biggest bluegill on the world's smallest mouse.
That ought to be worth breakfast afterwards!

Just passing this along I know nothing to do with this video. I'm a new fly tier, this goes back to a video of 2 years ago. Recommended ,by you, fly tying vises. The Supreme 102 vise should no longer be recommended. Just bought one and sending it back as the jaws do not tighten down and the part which allows it to rotate won't tighten down either so it continually rotates. It was new and didn't seem to be a returned item will go looking for a better vise. Like your videos and this comment is not a reflection on you just letting you know the quality is not there anymore even though the materials are mostly steel and some brass.
