I bought an E86 3.0 si manual last week and this is the first job i am doing on it for peace of mind as it has done 128K miles! I will also be removing the Bonnet slam panel plastic trim to improve access! Subbed and liked.
The engine needs a decent clean 🧼 it shocked me when I first saw it but I guess not everybody is like me that polish their engine. Nice car and it’s good to see nice preventative maintenance on the e86.
They are noisy on the Z4- mine was like it when i got it at 59,000 (4.5 years ago) and its still like it (not any worse) now at 78,000. As long as the clutch works as it should and doesn't slip, think of it as a "feature"! Some folks replace the DMF but find it starts making the noise again soon afterwards!
@@oceandrive7283 Thanks for this info, I defiantly won’t be replacing the dmf unless it gets worse. I had it planned for the near future but you’ve saved me some money so can’t thank you enough!
I hope you didn't pay for that I did that same shit in my driveway here in Georgia USA . If you're going to drive an e86 you should at least know how to work on it so you can form that blood bond with your car
Every youtube video ever made by a creator is an advertisement in some way. This is also an interesting look into a historic brand and insight into essential maintenance on the E86 Z4 Coupe.

The mech said dual mass flywheels can make some noise like that...🤷♂️
