A Change of Heart that Saved a Life and Opened a New World: How Lola Pig Save Me

- Lola was supposed to be just another FFA project. A student named Bruno would raise her and plan to send her to auction for meat. But Bruno grew to see his project as his friend;
as someone, not something. There was no way he could send her to her death. When Bruno reached out to Farm Sanctuary for help, we gladly agreed to welcome Lola to our Southern California Shelter. After riding with Lola on the journey from Orange County to Orland, CA, Bruno was by her side as she began to explore her new home. At day’s end, the two shared a leave-taking that was not “goodbye” but “see you later.”
Thanks to one student who chose to learn not that a pig’s life is disposable but that it is precious, Lola now has a big, wonderful life ahead of her - and the chance to teach countless others that important lesson.

I have a big problem with 4H and other such organizations. It desensitizes children to the slaughter of animals. This a wonderful story and a wonderful share. Thank you.
I agree but also an alternate perspective is that this program is going to show a very large population of children; who are more aware than the adults; how not to be. Just like the 2 kids in this video were affected. We can get good from bad

I'm finally giving up eating pork. I've had trouble being able to give up eating meat, but I've seen so many videos now of how pigs are treated that I now really don't think that I will touch any pork products again. I've seen so many pig videos this past year, both the good and bad ones, because I've been curious on what really goes on in the world with these amazing animals. Pigs are amazing, they're intelligent, sensitive, and so friendly and affectionate as long as people are kind back to them, and so terrified when somewhere where they're abused and mistreated, the latter is what makes it so heartbreaking, people taking away these wonderful natural happy friendly traits away from the pigs and making them so squealing terrified, it's so incredibly undeserved.

I have always wondered how these kids who raise and care for farm animals, even give them names feel when parents make these kjds send them to auction to be slaughtered. These kids get attached to these farm animals. It is like teaching your kids that all that matter is money. It is just wrong. These 2 teenagers made the right move and listen to their hearts. ALL LIVES MATTER.

I love these people! I'm worried because my school is doing a student project for observing chickens. At the end, the plan on selling the chickens to a farm. I took a stand and said no way but I have to find a place that would be willing to provide forever homes for them. I don't know when the project starts or even if it is going to happen for sure, but I thought I'd start searching early.

Always thought FFA was so great for kids, Im 61, seen many videos on how pigs, cows, Milk, dairy farms really are in last 6 mos, watching Farm Sanctuary, Cow Foundation, opened my eyes to real world, how we are devastating our lands trying to supply meat & milk, killing animals in worst ways, inhumane treatments. Giving up beef, pork, chiken isnt to hard, but had trouble with milk, butter & cheese. It is doable I found that humans can have more healthy lives & it saves animals, vegan life is win win in all was, I think it is what God intended. This guy in his video really is special, bless him and his Mom & Lola too.🤗🙏❤

Follow "helping ton post" & more on Instagram. Plus "London pig save", & more. If we forward legislation that legalizes hemp ( like Kentucky did, I believe). It can create jobs for farmers who'd like to stop killing animals for a living. That way, progress will move more quickly towards a kinder world. The farmers won't quit if they don't have other options. It'd be great if the audio in the video could be remixed. Music is too loud. Bruno, continue to share your story. I hope to one day open my own farm sanctuary.. I have 10 chickens right now. My parents wanted to eat one but I stopped them. I won't allow it as long as I am there.

I had no idea what went on with groups like FFA. We have it here in our area but have no children. So I didn’t know kids were exposed to things like harming animals or seeing them slaughtered. I just didn’t know things like this were taking place and I think I’m at a loss for words. I’m now going to be sure to educate myself in several areas. I’m an animal lover and can’t stand to see them harmed. Thank you for this nirvana you’ve created for the animals and helping that boy’s dream come true. I imagine the boy and Lola will thrive. I can see him doing amazing things as he grows up. His mom is right, it teaches compassion, something sorely lacking in our society. Good things all round! ❤️

The reason we eat certain animals is because we don't have relationships with them. But as this young man found out dogs and pigs are very much the same. I wish more people would at least meet some of the animals they want to eat. Then maybe they too would see them as friends and not food.
