After seeing all the UA-cam videos about it, we bought a Gold Rush Nugget Bucket. The nearest location we could test it was Las Huertas Creek in the Cibola National Forest in the Northern part of the Sandia Mountains. We pulled three (Nugget Bucket) "bowls" of concentrates from the creek and let them dry out. While I was shaking the plastic container to help the drying process, I found a small green gem and lots of black sand! Join us to see if we find any gold.

That looks like a lot of fun.
Just discovered your channel. I got there watching the video of your trip to Walatowa Visitor Center. I was there with my wife in May, 2023. Very interesting area geographically and historically. Happy to see someone so knowledgeable and well equipped for prospecting that make your video's enjoyable to watch. Nice work.
Great job all around fam. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream. You're doing great work. I had a blast coming by. Gold Squad Out!!!
Hello from Raton. So glad you’re testing it out before I buy one
Looks to me like you can pan concentrates quite efficiently!
Very nice of you to share! Thanks Toby and Shelley,
Happy Memorial Day!
You're welcome, Bryan. Happy Memorial Day to you, too.
Great idea!
Keep up the good work 😊
I lived in Albuquerque for a short time. Wish I was into prospecting back then.
One of the benefits of living here is having access to the intersection of I25 and I40 which gives us easy access to the rest of the state. Check out our other channel: youtube.com/@nmdaytrips
I really enjoy your videos.. The close-up shots of the material, with explanations of what is what is very interesting..
Thank you. Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see.
Great video. I have a nugget bucket also and love using it for quick prospecting. We're in New Mexico, Southern area. Hillsboro is our prospecting area mostly.
Nice and warm looking there
The high was 86° today.
I don't live very far from that creek. I've been wanting to head up there but didn't know is was legal to do so! Thanks for the video have a great day!
Good luck!
Nice. Finding anything at all is a plus.
We're not expecting to get rich on the stuff, but it's very satisfying to see a couple of flakes in the bottom of the pan.
well done!!
The Nugget Bucket is awesome!!! It looks like everything you need is all in the bucket!
My initial reaction is that I agree with you, but I'm going to be taking it out several times over the summer to test its viability.
@Garage Prospecting Yes!! I don't have one yet, so I would be interested seeing the good, the bad and ugly! Lol

Hey Toby good show,
Thank you, Dr. Dodgers.
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Just found your channel and really like it. BTW, I was thinking, she looks like Vanna White, just before you said to do the Vanna thing. Couples that prospect together...are awesome.
She is an absolute treasure, but, we're not a couple. We're business partners. She's happily married to my good friend, Kevin, and I'm happily single. We've been working together since 2012. You should check out our other channels: @nmdaytrips and @ourstoryyourstory
@@crewoftwodocs Oops! Sorry!
Hi Toby and Shelly! Looks like your staying busy and having fun! I have lots of metal detectors, classifiers, gold pans, turning wheel and sluice. Guess I better get my butt in gear and utilize them this summer! Have you tried any dry washing? We used to go to Madrid and find gold dry washing, There are gold mines in the area . I don't know about claims because it's been years since I;ve been there!
We are, as you can tell. With all that equipment, you should be out every weekend! We belong to the New Mexico Gold Miner's Association which has claims in the San Pedro Mountains, south of Madrid. We've been up there to collect samples and process them in the garage. We always get a little gold. We haven't tried drywashing yet.
Heavy pans!
I live in Pecos New Mexico very cool Channel and I liked the nugget bucket! so I subbed!
We're headed up to Pecos after I get back from vacation to try the Nugget Bucket out.

Good job!
I just stumbled onto your videos today, I'm hooked, so far 3 videos deep.i know Las Huertas well, we're from Rio Rancho, and used to go sledding in the back of the sandias as a kid. Now I'm bringing my 3yr old son back there. How far up the road past where the pavement ends would you recommend to drop a shovel?
Just make sure you're in the boundaries of the National Forest and you're not messing with the protected area on the right side of the road.
