I love these kinds of games so much. I get so attached to the characters when the game tells a good story. I love a story I can get lost in. Games similar to this are like an experience almost.
Same. It baffles me people do this in real life just for fun. I get if you're doing it to survive or if it's a part of your culture but I can't even do it in an indie game-
@@oliviail Same. It's so ridiculous, 'Live wildly!' when they have a freaking shotgun. The only thing that'd redeem it for me is if the main character loses the trappings of civilisation, then gets eaten by wolves, and the dogs are accepted into the pack, Call of the Wild style.

I started watching this and was so excited when I saw dogs, then the entire feel started turning dark, and the team got smaller, and now I know if I play this game, I'm going to cry. This game will break me.
The style is similar, although Long Dark is a lot more survival based. While you can go about doing anything in the long dark, in the red lantern every of your decisions counts

The game has an optional setting where dogs can't permanently die.
Don't worry, everytime you kill a dog just remember the whole game is a nightmare. That might help.

I think you’d really enjoy The Long Dark. It technically is placed in Canada, but it’s such a good survival game with a very interesting storyline
