Hey, I've posted it elsewhere, but I really should have posted a pinned comment. I got remonetized, partially in thanks to this video. The short version of the story is that I joined an MCN who talked with UA-cam on my behalf. They realized how ridiculous this was and reinstated me. The long version is for another day. I'm planning to get back behind the camera and explain it all, I just wanted to focus on other videos first. If you don't end up seeing that video- thank you for all of the kind words and support that you gave me when things were this bad. It was a pretty rough time and those comments really kept me going.
It'll never cease to amaze me how ridiculously stupid and unfair a platform like youtube or twitch can get, but at least you got your monetization back. I genuinely can't believe that it took months of blood sweat and tears to get to this point. There are some pretty strong words to be said about this whole system..
Google is going bats**t crazy with their algorithms rn. YT channels are getting strikes for the most idiotic reasons, developers on the playstore of apps (some of which have been around for a decade) with millions of users are getting permabanned for "stalking users/stalkerware" with none of them even knowing what that's supposed to mean and support being completely unresponsive, YT recommendations are complete trash (recommending videos with 0-100 views that have zero to do with your interests) ... like... wtf is even happening?! Did they just let AI loose on the decision making and ignoring every single case where that backfires horribly?!
It's literally the only reason I'm here, because I've watched other videos like this before so the algorithm decided I would also want to watch this one.
I considered making something similar about my Google account being nearly disabled (I think it's because I looked young in my attempt to prove i'm not a robot so that I could make posts)

That's raw capitalism at work. If you're paying your underlings too much, someone who can get away with paying them less is going to make enough money to push you out of the market.
Costs of running servers for a video streaming platform is actually pretty high. I don’t think UA-cam made a profit in most of the years its been running. I believe Linus Tech Tips talked about this when he was making a case for UA-cam charging extra for 4K streaming.
it's because the servers to host as much video as UA-cam does cost an insane amount of money. UA-cam started at a time when the Internet was a much different place and gained a massive market share basically immediately because they would host your video files for free, something basically no other sites would do at the time. Now any would-be competitors can't start small like UA-cam did because they would have to offer not only the video hosting, but the audience levels and monetization abilities that UA-cam does basically right off the bat if they want to attract UA-cam-based creators to their own space. TikTok has maybe come the closest to doing it of any recent app and that's because they first formed and grew their userbase in China where there's not really access to UA-cam, so no competition on a potential audience of several hundred million. Western startups wouldn't be in such a convenient situation.
The fact that I never watch this type of content and I've never heard of this guy in my life but this specific video got recommended to me is really poetic to the cockiness of UA-cam.
If anyone wants to help this man, continue to re-watch this video over and over to inflate the watch time hours so it gets pushed big in the algorithm.
Hey, sorry to hear your going through this. This happend to my channel a number of times through the years. The annoying part is they never clarify what has been flagged as ''reused content'' on the channel. Appealing usually gets you nowhere. They always say it violates a certain policy, even when you show otherwise in the appeal video. I get the feeling Ai is running the process. It's incredibly frustrating trying reach UA-cam support as in most cases, they just provide you with a link to their vague polices website. I'll give some advice that worked for me in the past: -Make what you believe to be one of your highest quality videos as the most recent upload. (they usually check the most recent video first when you reapply) -Unlist potential videos that could be violating the policy (you have to basically guess at this point) -Describe exactly what it is you do in the channel description (they want to see what you bring to the platform and your audience) -Have a short section in video descriptions describing the process of making the video (shows them that your not just uploading cheap/others content) -Revamp channel presentation (switch channel trailer, rearrange playlists so it's easier to navigate your channel homepage) After that reapply for monetization and hope for the best. Again I'm sorry you have to deal with this, hope this helps and good luck!
This is fucking absurd. The entire system of overwhelmingly punishing creators for minor or even non-existent infractions and then forcing them to *guess* what they did wrong to even get a chance at reconsideration is so obviously insane that it's hard to believe there are any human beings in charge of UA-cam at all. I love your content, man. Especially as you've been branching out more. If it's all I can do to help, I'll be sharing this shit everywhere I can.
I had something similar happen to me earlier this year, my channel was TERMINATED for seemingly no reason. Thankfully it didn't last long, but that was a terrifying few hours.
And all that live leak levels of horror going on on The dark side of UA-cam is a-ok. Probably because it's not monetized. Then a small UA-cam spills their coffee or something and UA-cam decides destroy their life's work.
Minor infraction to you, major headache and money loss possibility for THEM Content creators are disposable and it costs more to track and interact with them quickly for everything like this than it does to do it this way The humans are in charge of more complicated and bigger things than this. You have no idea how a small business let alone something this big runs You would run it no different or you wouldn’t have a profitable mega Corp. Full stop…. UA-cam isn’t a job, it’s s hustle. It's not a side hustle this is people's life work this is their main source of income the reason why doesn't have more protection is because the government is like you Grandpa and doesn't know how to use the cell phone yet that's why they haven't put anything in place to protect creators and UA-cam is free to do whatever the hell they want which is mostly just have faulty robots do everything. UA-cam wants to squeeze everything they can from creators and give nothin back.

I got blocked for reused AND repetitive content in this exact same area, which is sooo stupid so I know how you feel. BUT, after a month or two, I reappealed to join the YPP and it got accepted (despite them rejecting the appeal with concrete evidence of me not being either), so I reckon it is just an oversight by their algorithm and they can fix it for you too! hmu if you need help as I also did a couple other bits
Rowby I hope this helps you! UA-cam's troubleshooting team is so dumb sometimes, I've seen many youtube videos just like this. I'm also fairly sure that 7 second clip is fair use.
As soon as i heard "Reused Content", I instantly knew what the solution is. There is a video by a Minecraft-Tuber called Jake Eyes who had this problem 4 years ago, and in that it has a way to contact the guys up there. Video might be hard to find (they are a minecraft animation youtuber after all), but the video is on the 6th row of the most popular videos tab.
Love how UA-cam calls you a “content recycling farm” and simultaneously endorses channels like SSSniperwolf who do nothing but recycle content and get genuinely rich off of it.
I remember the day he released that idiot sandwich video and I thought wow that is so funny that's what I was nine crazy how far we've come. now he's getting banned like Andrew Tate.
You really think UA-cam is going to do the right thing and fix their own mistake? You're expectations are rather high. I mean this company hasn't been all that great with all the choices they made. I mean remember the remove dislike button and more recently how they changed all our names to @ handles to be more like Twitter while making Short's videos similar to TikTok? It's like UA-cam is taking what's popular and trying to outdo the original only to end up failing and making themselves look worse. Nobody asked for any of these changes and while many have complained UA-cam does what they do best, ignore and act like they aren't such a problem child.
Because then they can’t be held accountable if the rules can bend, if they did make the rules specific then creators would read it to the letter and call UA-cam out for BS.
So they can selectively apply them, saying they don't need to put in effort for something important, and saying they're allowed to take this action for something petty.

It makes absolutely no sense why they just ban/demonize users that did nothing and not telling them why, and have a bot riddled appeal system with a _90 hecking day cooldown_
You're not the only one being subjected to UA-cam's bullying, myself I got a Community Strike over a PLAYLIST, I was saving anything regarding Art and Animation, but they must've been flagging everything as "Made for Kids" as I've come to learn, and I was BEGGING them to please look at it from a human perspective, but they never did, they said the exact same bullshit they told you. Lately too, I had come across mountains of evidence that showcase someone is clearly view-botting and using their sock accounts for bullying, but even in spite of all these screenshots and video evidence, they once again ignored everything, they still couldn't tell me why that is, just a "They didn't violated any policies", bullshit, their commenters always say dumb shit for one out of many things. They must be keeping all these view-botters on their site, because it can't be just one if they let that one go so easily, well they let them be because bad clout is still good clout to them. TeamUA-cam is utterly incompetent, several times they have been of absolutely no help and ignored everything I could say to them, and this is further aggravating as I have a speech impairment and they won't ever take the time of day to hear me out when they've wrongfully deleted my 1000 Vids Playlist. I'm convinced at this point that the Twitter account only exists to give the illusion that they have any customer/user support, which they clearly don't and that's further reinforced because they still have yet to reopen their Community Help Forums. This is all some elaborate lie to make it look like they have everything under control. They also would allow all of these scammers on their sites, but punish those that were upstanding throughout the vast majority of their time on UA-cam. I'm sick and tired of UA-cam, and I want them to face all of the consequences for their wrongdoings, we need to restart fresh, because clearly UA-cam is so rotten it's beyond saving, and I've been posting on the platform for 10 years and even I want to move on from them, they just happen to have the monopoly on everything and let these companies be complicit in the scam with sponsorships and whatnot.

@@mrsnayarlhats4242 Same here, at some point someone was claiming a group of people are pedophiles, but as I argued with him that he's wrong, myself I kept being censored by YT, but he could still use terms like CP and whatnot and badmouth me, as I couldn't do anything to bypass the filters even as I was chewing my words. I also hate how it's impossible to see every comments including in Threads because they are hidden in the Top Comments category, but by switching to Newest First, then it shows everything, it's so bad as you've said, they actually make their site more annoying on each update.

All I could do was connect the dots; the next month, I saw that video "UA-cam Doesn't Respect Animation At All", I think throughout the years I had videos that were changed to "Made for Kids" because they're biased, then they may've made it seem like I was saving them for a "certain purpose", to lure in children or some shit, but like it's not my fault I see Leafie the Hen the same way I did South Park and The House (2022), it was just a potpourri, and furthermore it wasn't even Public! So their automated systems flagged me and no humans went in to see the actual context! This is just insane, I lost 1000 Videos worth of 3D & 2D arts, Clips, and essays.
This exact same thing happened to me. I posted an eight second clip from Saw Spiral and UA-cam demonetized me for "reused content" and around the same time. Unreal.
UA-cam has been screwing over youtubers for so long and its stupid. My only assumption is that they might have only hit the video now after seven years because you've blown up a lot recently. They usually dont hit smaller channels until their reach becomes greater than before
obviously, they can get more money from it now as ads still play on the now popular demonetized video/channel, just that only they receive the money, and the channel doesnt have a big enough community to move against youtube. a video/channel getting demonetized is no longer about breaching some rule, its about youtube's greed
UA-cam logic, in a nutshell, "What, a creator, on our platform, doing something, he shouldn't be, but without any evidence, to back up or claim, let's just casually suppress him, and silence anyone, who even dare to try to help him, that's UA-cam 2023 for ya".
Wow this is crazy, YT is so big they do what they want until they are the new MySpace for mistreating the creators. This is getting so common and scary I have been working on my own channel and I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for you hope it gets solved quick
"Pay their workers" UA-cam does not employ people who upload videos on their platform. Uploaders are not entitled to ANYTHING from youtube. You should frankly be grateful they give you the server space to share your videos. It seems like this "creator" is only in it for the money. It is a privilege to have a monetized channel. I'm not some Google bootlicker but the entitlement in this comment section is crazy.

I had the exact same problem as you. I had original content that was created by me, and posted to my channel. However, I had a few clips of SpongeBob that were still up there, so I privated them and waited for them to get back to me. After waiting a bit, I got rejected once again. So, I did some digging and had a theory about it potentially being the privated videos. So, I deleted all those privated SpongeBob clips and tried applying again. Fun fact: it worked. So, you may want to delete those videos because YT does not care if they're public or not.
Blocking "Reused Content" is just a disguised "You can't post it anywhere else other than here". Which may be used to enforce creators to only be on UA-cam, similar to how Twitch wanted.
I don’t often comment on videos, but I’m praying this gets pushed by the algorithm more. UA-cam sucks a LOT sometimes, and I REALLY hope this video blows up not only to help your channel but also to raise awareness about what UA-cam is doing. The sad thing I've seen this happen to a dozen different people. UA-cam knows they can get away with it and the only solution seems to be starting a riot on social media. And even then that only works if you have enough clout.

the reason why UA-cam demonizes videos so often is because they have an incentive to do it as ads still play on videos that are demonetized just without the creator's cut which is why they demonetize like its the only thing they know how to do.

You think an algorithm or bot can't be made to just randomly demonetize small channels here and there? You think pennies don't make a difference but YT can do this on a massive scale, enough to the point that it's actually profitable to do so. Did you know some companies have and still do send you a bill twice just in case you're dumb enough to pay them both when you only owe for one? Did you know parking enforcement will put bogus tickets on cars not in violation just because there's no downside whatsoever? Most people will just pay it since it's not worth it for the individual to contest a ticket. I've literally seen them ticket a car for "unpaid meter" when the own had just walked away after paying the meter. If you think a giant corporation that has extremely easy means to just skim a little off the top, won't do exactly that, you're rather naive. YT is already in hot water for selling premium ads at premium rates that show on places in violation of their own terms. (side bars and silent playing videos that auto-play without interaction.) I say they're in hot water because they're screwing over dozens of Fortune 500 companies by doing that. And you think they won't screw the little guy... why exactly?
Many genres are struggling to get monetized, even when they don't use literally anything from other videos, they just say no. One of the worst cases possible, I hope you get it back!

That’s how powerful brands are. No one goes anywhere else because they already know UA-cam. And it works relatively for the majority of people. So people aren’t going to switch unless it actually affects a majority of people to a pretty good degree
@@VexingWeeb not quite, the reason no one leaves youtube is because ther is really no other option, and likely never will be See youtube isn't profitable, Google makes profit BECAUSE of youtube but not FROM youtube Google collects your data to feed you ads, I would be shocked if that's news to you But what this allows for is Google to serve you targeted ads across all of the internet, not just youtube since Goolgr has a near monopoly within online advertising So this puts youtube in a weird situation, the site itself is a loss for Google, but the data ot gathers allows them to upcharge targeted ads across all of the intenet, meaning that data is profitable This means only 1 company in the world could keep this site running, and that's Google, because no other company has a near monopoly on intenet advertising so it wouldn't be worth it for any other company besides Google, at least if the site wanted feature parity with youtube
It's because UA-cam isn't profitable. Hosting and distributing videos is expensive and the pennies they get from advertisers don't make up the cost. If someone tries it without Google money, they're doomed.
but its even worse when someone steals your content and proceeds to flag you over stealing content youtube needs some serious safety changes over content theft and copyright laws
The irony of all this is that this vid was at the top of my home page and I’ve never heard of you in my life, I guess the UA-cam algorithm has figured out that UA-cam screwups go viral.
Maybe this is just the pessimist in me speaking, but the worst part about this whole situation is that UA-cam probably won't even care about this. Their big creators are still making them the big bucks, and a single relatively small channel being outspoken about this issue probably isn't going to make a company as big as UA-cam care unless this somehow blows up and public outrage starts to drastically affect their profits. I'm so sorry this happening to you. Here's to hoping that I'm wrong and you're able to get your channel remonetized...
It wouldn't be surprising how UA-cam wouldn't care on this situation, they done it to other content creators and that is infuriating as hell. And yet, UA-cam somehow allows other channels that break their guidelines (such as content recycling farm channels), while content creators like Rowby suffers unfair treatment.
But even then, some of the biggest creators still are affected by UA-cam and their dumbass actions. One of my favorite channels, RTGame, had a majority of his videos demonetized at the beginning of this year, due to him trying to appeal a different claim on his Best of 2022 video and (specifically) his video of The Quarry, which was featured in his Best of video. (He's since gotten the issue resolved, but now out of spite, he's replaced/censored all of the swearing in his videos with "UA-cam". He even made a whole video about turning "UA-cam" into a swear word.)
this is why being a youtuber is one of my dream jobs but also something i'm afraid to pursue. UA-cam is outright hostile to small creators. also just wanna say its kinda ironic how ive never been to this channel before yet here i am because algorithm thought i'd like it

UA-cam is pretty much doing this to a lot of people even to the point of terminating channels without reason except violation of terms and service meanwhile the channel could be up for five minutes have no vulgar or offensive words etc.
It affects most old content that has been considered 100% safe for many years before the terms of service update Because of that, I'd rather download all of my favourite videos as MP4 rather than saving to the playlist, because we never know when and why those videos are deleted
6:21 PRIVATING MAY NOT WORK! I've seen a channel get striked, then private that video and anything similar, and then get striked again for one of the now private videos! UA-cam's moderation is absolutely terrible, so if you have even the slightest feeling that something could go wrong for your next appeal, assume it will. Man, and just yesterday I was talking about how we may be a bit harsh on UA-cam, when it's better than most other video sites I've used. How could I forget stuff like this...
Similar thing happened to me a few years ago, turns out the reason was my old covers that I privated (to hopefully keep the comments) and re-uploaded with a different picture.
That is completely unreal. I'm sure this term has a technical meaning that doesn't apply, but this is yet another demonstration of how fundamentally negligent UA-cam is as a platform.

Age of Noob had a similar problem. His channel was demonetized 2 months ago because two of his videos were archived "making of" videos from a video game disk that were remastered to 4k. The rest of his content was original videos examining said video game franchise's mechanics and doing guides, as well as talking about its history. His channel was remonetized 2 weeks ago.
UA-cam is not a job. Some people make it work anyway - great for them!. But repeated issues like this is why it's an INCREDIBLE risk to make it your sole income, even if you have enough of an audience to pay your bills otherwise.
Same thing happened to me. Twice. I missed the first window to appeal (I wasnt uploading at the time so I didn’t realise I even got demonetised) and re Applied afterwards, and I got approved. then it got removed again with my appeal getting rejected, because it “wasn’t representative of my channel” even though it followed all the instructions and went in detail on how I made my largest, most high effort videos in the appeal. Now, the requirement for me to re-apply has increased and I can’t even re-apply anymore (no clue why) so I’ve just given up on getting monetisation for my little channel. I make videos as more of a hobby anyway so this doesn’t affect me much, but it’s still really annoying!! Also, what I think is getting flagged as “reused content” is probably memes I make and upload to my channel semi-often, but that shouldn’t even be flagging it because in the guidelines that THEY sited, they explicitly say that “A funny or thoughtful revision of content you didn’t originally create” is GOOD!! So maybe UA-cam just doesn’t think I’m funny lmao
What gets me is not that they want to control what can be monetized, but that they are so cloak and dagger about it and not consistent. I suspect the real reason some sites are so secretive is they don't want you to know in case they're wrong. So, they dig in their heels and hide behind "We can't tell you what you did wrong" so that you can never be certain why and go after them.
I've had my fair share of issues with dumb things, like copyright. I made a couple of AMVs and I've accepted despite the fact I heavily edited the vids, I'll never make money from it. But I've had vids get copyright striked for music I had in the background of a vid that was royalty free but some numbnut claimed it in the system and therefore it gets copyright striked... I hate the YT system, it's so punishing for small creators
omg that happened to me too, i made an original song using a backing track that was allegedly copyright free because i got it from youtube's own copyright free audio library, and my video got claimed because someone decided they owned the copyright free music 🙃🙃

UA-cam just did the same thing to me last week on my main channel. Funny enough, they did it right before all I needed was $4 left of ad revenue to receive my FIRST payout. The timing is ridiculous. They basically got to run ads on my videos for free... All of your frustration, I'm feeling too brother.
This experience reminds me of mine and how it left me totally puzzled , If not for *_Cyber.kor1* (solution and support services) I would not have been able to get it effectively rectified. It's possible you haven't heard of them. They are the best and most reliable tech support.

If enough people took them to court, or even just filed a class action theyd definitely win, considering ATP youtubers should be considered a form of employment (or at least self employment) under youtube, as a company. If you are employing people to actively make their livelihoods off your platform, under NO circumstance, should you have the right to say "yeah sorry, our machines messed up so we're just not gonna pay your for 3 months" (if not longer). While yes YT is definitely a much more "grey area" when put up against other jobs, it still is a job in its own right and should be treated as such. This is even more the case for how they have handled cases of copyright and fair use. But that is a whole other topic. I reccommend checking out business casuals video on it.

Hey, I've posted it elsewhere, but I really should have posted a pinned comment. I got remonetized, partially in thanks to this video.
The short version of the story is that I joined an MCN who talked with UA-cam on my behalf. They realized how ridiculous this was and reinstated me. The long version is for another day. I'm planning to get back behind the camera and explain it all, I just wanted to focus on other videos first. If you don't end up seeing that video- thank you for all of the kind words and support that you gave me when things were this bad. It was a pretty rough time and those comments really kept me going.
It'll never cease to amaze me how ridiculously stupid and unfair a platform like youtube or twitch can get, but at least you got your monetization back. I genuinely can't believe that it took months of blood sweat and tears to get to this point. There are some pretty strong words to be said about this whole system..

It's insane how "UA-cam destroyed my channel" videos are a whole genre now.
Google is going bats**t crazy with their algorithms rn. YT channels are getting strikes for the most idiotic reasons, developers on the playstore of apps (some of which have been around for a decade) with millions of users are getting permabanned for "stalking users/stalkerware" with none of them even knowing what that's supposed to mean and support being completely unresponsive, YT recommendations are complete trash (recommending videos with 0-100 views that have zero to do with your interests) ... like... wtf is even happening?! Did they just let AI loose on the decision making and ignoring every single case where that backfires horribly?!
For so many different reasons too. Past 5 or so years have really been hell here. Makes you wonder what blows up without warning next.
It's literally the only reason I'm here, because I've watched other videos like this before so the algorithm decided I would also want to watch this one.

Costs of running servers for a video streaming platform is actually pretty high. I don’t think UA-cam made a profit in most of the years its been running.
I believe Linus Tech Tips talked about this when he was making a case for UA-cam charging extra for 4K streaming.

it's because the servers to host as much video as UA-cam does cost an insane amount of money. UA-cam started at a time when the Internet was a much different place and gained a massive market share basically immediately because they would host your video files for free, something basically no other sites would do at the time. Now any would-be competitors can't start small like UA-cam did because they would have to offer not only the video hosting, but the audience levels and monetization abilities that UA-cam does basically right off the bat if they want to attract UA-cam-based creators to their own space. TikTok has maybe come the closest to doing it of any recent app and that's because they first formed and grew their userbase in China where there's not really access to UA-cam, so no competition on a potential audience of several hundred million. Western startups wouldn't be in such a convenient situation.
X is trying to be one, with more focuse on free speech. I hope they successed, we don't want a monopoly.

Hey, sorry to hear your going through this. This happend to my channel a number of times through the years. The annoying part is they never clarify what has been flagged as ''reused content'' on the channel.
Appealing usually gets you nowhere. They always say it violates a certain policy, even when you show otherwise in the appeal video. I get the feeling Ai is running the process. It's incredibly frustrating trying reach UA-cam support as in most cases, they just provide you with a link to their vague polices website.
I'll give some advice that worked for me in the past:
-Make what you believe to be one of your highest quality videos as the most recent upload. (they usually check the most recent video first when you reapply)
-Unlist potential videos that could be violating the policy (you have to basically guess at this point)
-Describe exactly what it is you do in the channel description (they want to see what you bring to the platform and your audience)
-Have a short section in video descriptions describing the process of making the video (shows them that your not just uploading cheap/others content)
-Revamp channel presentation (switch channel trailer, rearrange playlists so it's easier to navigate your channel homepage)
After that reapply for monetization and hope for the best.

I had something similar happen to me earlier this year, my channel was TERMINATED for seemingly no reason. Thankfully it didn't last long, but that was a terrifying few hours.

I got blocked for reused AND repetitive content in this exact same area, which is sooo stupid so I know how you feel. BUT, after a month or two, I reappealed to join the YPP and it got accepted (despite them rejecting the appeal with concrete evidence of me not being either), so I reckon it is just an oversight by their algorithm and they can fix it for you too! hmu if you need help as I also did a couple other bits

There is a video by a Minecraft-Tuber called Jake Eyes who had this problem 4 years ago, and in that it has a way to contact the guys up there.
Video might be hard to find (they are a minecraft animation youtuber after all), but the video is on the 6th row of the most popular videos tab.

You really think UA-cam is going to do the right thing and fix their own mistake? You're expectations are rather high. I mean this company hasn't been all that great with all the choices they made. I mean remember the remove dislike button and more recently how they changed all our names to @ handles to be more like Twitter while making Short's videos similar to TikTok?

You're not the only one being subjected to UA-cam's bullying, myself I got a Community Strike over a PLAYLIST, I was saving anything regarding Art and Animation, but they must've been flagging everything as "Made for Kids" as I've come to learn, and I was BEGGING them to please look at it from a human perspective, but they never did, they said the exact same bullshit they told you.
Lately too, I had come across mountains of evidence that showcase someone is clearly view-botting and using their sock accounts for bullying, but even in spite of all these screenshots and video evidence, they once again ignored everything, they still couldn't tell me why that is, just a "They didn't violated any policies", bullshit, their commenters always say dumb shit for one out of many things. They must be keeping all these view-botters on their site, because it can't be just one if they let that one go so easily, well they let them be because bad clout is still good clout to them.
TeamUA-cam is utterly incompetent, several times they have been of absolutely no help and ignored everything I could say to them, and this is further aggravating as I have a speech impairment and they won't ever take the time of day to hear me out when they've wrongfully deleted my 1000 Vids Playlist. I'm convinced at this point that the Twitter account only exists to give the illusion that they have any customer/user support, which they clearly don't and that's further reinforced because they still have yet to reopen their Community Help Forums. This is all some elaborate lie to make it look like they have everything under control. They also would allow all of these scammers on their sites, but punish those that were upstanding throughout the vast majority of their time on UA-cam.

All I could do was connect the dots; the next month, I saw that video "UA-cam Doesn't Respect Animation At All", I think throughout the years I had videos that were changed to "Made for Kids" because they're biased, then they may've made it seem like I was saving them for a "certain purpose", to lure in children or some shit, but like it's not my fault I see Leafie the Hen the same way I did South Park and The House (2022), it was just a potpourri, and furthermore it wasn't even Public! I had the exact same problem as you. I had original content that was created by me, and posted to my channel. However, I had a few clips of SpongeBob that were still up there, so I privated them and waited for them to get back to me. After waiting a bit, I got rejected once again. So, I did some digging and had a theory about it potentially being the privated videos. So, I deleted all those privated SpongeBob clips and tried applying again. Fun fact: it worked. So, you may want to delete those videos because YT does not care if they're public or not.
Blocking "Reused Content" is just a disguised "You can't post it anywhere else other than here". Which may be used to enforce creators to only be on UA-cam, similar to how Twitch wanted.
I don’t often comment on videos, but I’m praying this gets pushed by the algorithm more. UA-cam sucks a LOT sometimes, and I REALLY hope this video blows up not only to help your channel but also to raise awareness about what UA-cam is doing.

The sad thing I've seen this happen to a dozen different people. UA-cam knows they can get away with it and the only solution seems to be starting a riot on social media. And even then that only works if you have enough clout.

the reason why UA-cam demonizes videos so often is because they have an incentive to do it as ads still play on videos that are demonetized just without the creator's cut which is why they demonetize like its the only thing they know how to do.

UA-cam's decisions like this are because of algorithm. You think an algorithm or bot can't be made to just randomly demonetize small channels here and there? You think pennies don't make a difference but YT can do this on a massive scale, enough to the point that it's actually profitable to do so.
Did you know some companies have and still do send you a bill twice just in case you're dumb enough to pay them both when you only owe for one?
Did you know parking enforcement will put bogus tickets on cars not in violation just because there's no downside whatsoever? Most people will just pay it since it's not worth it for the individual to contest a ticket. I've literally seen them ticket a car for "unpaid meter" when the own had just walked away after paying the meter.
If you think a giant corporation that has extremely easy means to just skim a little off the top, won't do exactly that, you're rather naive.
YT is already in hot water for selling premium ads at premium rates that show on places in violation of their own terms. (side bars and silent playing videos that auto-play without interaction.) I say they're in hot water because they're screwing over dozens of Fortune 500 companies by doing that.

Many genres are struggling to get monetized, even when they don't use literally anything from other videos, they just say no. One of the worst cases possible, I hope you get it back!

That’s how powerful brands are. No one goes anywhere else because they already know UA-cam. And it works relatively for the majority of people. So people aren’t going to switch unless it actually affects a majority of people to a pretty good degree

But what this allows for is Google to serve you targeted ads across all of the internet, not just youtube since Goolgr has a near monopoly within online advertising
So this puts youtube in a weird situation, the site itself is a loss for Google, but the data ot gathers allows them to upcharge targeted ads across all of the intenet, meaning that data is profitable
This means only 1 company in the world could keep this site running, and that's Google, because no other company has a near monopoly on intenet advertising so it wouldn't be worth it for any other company besides Google, at least if the site wanted feature parity with youtube

It's because UA-cam isn't profitable. Hosting and distributing videos is expensive and the pennies they get from advertisers don't make up the cost. If someone tries it without Google money, they're doomed.

The irony of all this is that this vid was at the top of my home page and I’ve never heard of you in my life, I guess the UA-cam algorithm has figured out that UA-cam screwups go viral.
This is actually a massive problem at UA-cam. I see this issue a lot.
Maybe this is just the pessimist in me speaking, but the worst part about this whole situation is that UA-cam probably won't even care about this. Their big creators are still making them the big bucks, and a single relatively small channel being outspoken about this issue probably isn't going to make a company as big as UA-cam care unless this somehow blows up and public outrage starts to drastically affect their profits. I'm so sorry this happening to you. Here's to hoping that I'm wrong and you're able to get your channel remonetized...
It wouldn't be surprising how UA-cam wouldn't care on this situation, they done it to other content creators and that is infuriating as hell. And yet, UA-cam somehow allows other channels that break their guidelines (such as content recycling farm channels), while content creators like Rowby suffers unfair treatment.
But even then, some of the biggest creators still are affected by UA-cam and their dumbass actions. One of my favorite channels, RTGame, had a majority of his videos demonetized at the beginning of this year, due to him trying to appeal a different claim on his Best of 2022 video and (specifically) his video of The Quarry, which was featured in his Best of video. (He's since gotten the issue resolved, but now out of spite, he's replaced/censored all of the swearing in his videos with "UA-cam". He even made a whole video about turning "UA-cam" into a swear word.)

UA-cam is pretty much doing this to a lot of people even to the point of terminating channels without reason except violation of terms and service meanwhile the channel could be up for five minutes have no vulgar or offensive words etc.
It affects most old content that has been considered 100% safe for many years before the terms of service update
Because of that, I'd rather download all of my favourite videos as MP4 rather than saving to the playlist, because we never know when and why those videos are deleted
Yeah, had that happen to me this year, thankfully I got it back.

6:21 PRIVATING MAY NOT WORK! I've seen a channel get striked, then private that video and anything similar, and then get striked again for one of the now private videos! UA-cam's moderation is absolutely terrible, so if you have even the slightest feeling that something could go wrong for your next appeal, assume it will. Man, and just yesterday I was talking about how we may be a bit harsh on UA-cam, when it's better than most other video sites I've used. How could I forget stuff like this...
Similar thing happened to me a few years ago, turns out the reason was my old covers that I privated (to hopefully keep the comments) and re-uploaded with a different picture.
I have so much respect for you and I hope that UA-cam fixes up as this was not deserved in the slightest.
That is completely unreal. I'm sure this term has a technical meaning that doesn't apply, but this is yet another demonstration of how fundamentally negligent UA-cam is as a platform.

Age of Noob had a similar problem. His channel was demonetized 2 months ago because two of his videos were archived "making of" videos from a video game disk that were remastered to 4k. The rest of his content was original videos examining said video game franchise's mechanics and doing guides, as well as talking about its history. His channel was remonetized 2 weeks ago.

UA-cam is not a job. Some people make it work anyway - great for them!. But repeated issues like this is why it's an INCREDIBLE risk to make it your sole income, even if you have enough of an audience to pay your bills otherwise.

Same thing happened to me. Twice. I missed the first window to appeal (I wasnt uploading at the time so I didn’t realise I even got demonetised) and re Applied afterwards, and I got approved. then it got removed again with my appeal getting rejected, because it “wasn’t representative of my channel” even though it followed all the instructions and went in detail on how I made my largest, most high effort videos in the appeal. Now, the requirement for me to re-apply has increased and I can’t even re-apply anymore (no clue why) so I’ve just given up on getting monetisation for my little channel. I make videos as more of a hobby anyway so this doesn’t affect me much, but it’s still really annoying!!
Also, what I think is getting flagged as “reused content” is probably memes I make and upload to my channel semi-often, but that shouldn’t even be flagging it because in the guidelines that THEY sited, they explicitly say that “A funny or thoughtful revision of content you didn’t originally create” is GOOD!! So maybe UA-cam just doesn’t think I’m funny lmao
What gets me is not that they want to control what can be monetized, but that they are so cloak and dagger about it and not consistent. I suspect the real reason some sites are so secretive is they don't want you to know in case they're wrong. So, they dig in their heels and hide behind "We can't tell you what you did wrong" so that you can never be certain why and go after them.
Reasons like this is why I occasionally here reputable sources advise against trying to make a living off of UA-cam.

I've had my fair share of issues with dumb things, like copyright. I made a couple of AMVs and I've accepted despite the fact I heavily edited the vids, I'll never make money from it. But I've had vids get copyright striked for music I had in the background of a vid that was royalty free but some numbnut claimed it in the system and therefore it gets copyright striked... I hate the YT system, it's so punishing for small creators
omg that happened to me too, i made an original song using a backing track that was allegedly copyright free because i got it from youtube's own copyright free audio library, and my video got claimed because someone decided they owned the copyright free music 🙃🙃

UA-cam just did the same thing to me last week on my main channel. Funny enough, they did it right before all I needed was $4 left of ad revenue to receive my FIRST payout. The timing is ridiculous. They basically got to run ads on my videos for free... All of your frustration, I'm feeling too brother.
This experience reminds me of mine and how it left me totally puzzled , If not for *_Cyber.kor1* (solution and support services) I would not have been able to get it effectively rectified. It's possible you haven't heard of them. They are the best and most reliable tech support.

@@ikoiko3039 Yeah that kind of goes out the window when they actively are paying people for their work and to put advertisements on their work. If enough people took them to court, or even just filed a class action theyd definitely win, considering ATP youtubers should be considered a form of employment (or at least self employment) under youtube, as a company.
If you are employing people to actively make their livelihoods off your platform, under NO circumstance, should you have the right to say "yeah sorry, our machines messed up so we're just not gonna pay your for 3 months" (if not longer). While yes YT is definitely a much more "grey area" when put up against other jobs, it still is a job in its own right and should be treated as such.
This is even more the case for how they have handled cases of copyright and fair use. But that is a whole other topic. I reccommend checking out business casuals video on it.

This is an UA-cam Epidemic Problem. Artist/Animators that i follow are getting this Demonetize Strike on their unique content, but those that freeboot/reupload with minor tweeks are left absolutely alone.
