I knew he could act. I knew he could sing with different timbres, but somehow I still didn’t see this coming. I never thought I’d find sweet, funny Cesar (or J., for that matter) scary. I kept thinking if I saw any of these guys on the battlefield I’d run the other way.
It is like they got together in the back of a bar or somewhere and said, "We can start off with a chant, move it up to a type of hard ballad, then Elli can let loose his inner rock god, and what the heck, let's throw in some rap! We have everything else in there, why not? Hey, Geoff, the people want subharmonics? Let's give it to them! BOO-YA!"
Eli generated the backgrounds in Unreal Engines, as he did for Enemy and My Mother Told Me. The big difference here is that they didn’t record using green screens. They used a VR studio with huge LCD screens
They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! That first B0 Geoff hits lasts for 15 seconds!! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us the rap indeed belongs in acapella! Great reaction!
The warriors of VoicePlay killed it again! Florida heat and the A/C goes out, they are in heavy leather/fur... do they quit? NEVER. They pulled together and got it done. They are amazing.
Every time VP make anew video we say how they get any better. And then they do. I can't imagine where they go from here. J was rapping in their Superstition. So we know he can but to add it here was a surprise. Geoff has told us that one of the tables seen in this was also seen in his Misty Mountians Cold.
Miracle Of Sound messaged Voice Play and told them their cover was the most creative & gave them a ( 10 raised alehorns out of 10 ) & said great job. Now that an exceptional praise right there. The air conditioner wasn't working in the studio they were filming in & you can see how bad they were sweating in those heavy clothes. That is true dedication right there ❤️
Voiceplay is just wonderful, everything they do is great! Miracle of Sound watched/listened and commented on their cover. Rated it 10 alehorns out of 10!! I am always here for Voiceplay and Geoff. Speaking of Geoff, he drops a new one this Friday.
JNone's flight in was a few hours late so that might have influenced the shoot, the AC in the studio wasn't working, and they still made this epic video.
Really gets your blood pumping doesn't it? 😂 Cesar was so awesome in this, and Geoff didn't get out of the bassment (get it? Bass ment?) the whole song. So good. 😅
Wonderful reaction! Listen to their early cover of Superstition - early J None rapping. This is the first time I've found Geoff terrifying - something so sinister in his manner and look. I'm not even a fan of the song, but I LOVE this!
Great reaction! Thank Draven Girl for nagging you!! I love that they have J looking across the water like he is returning home. In My Mother Told Me they are all in different areas. Here they’ve all gotten together except for J who seems to have missed the boat despite being in the Navy!😂. But when he got there he certainly made an impact. Their tattoos are based on the ones in My Mother Told Me and include runes spelling out VoicePlay. BTW - it’s not a foghorn in this one. It’s a Gjallarhorn, and they need it back in Asgard!😊
Yes I was not expecting J None's on point Rap journey! I backed up a couple times to catch the loaded bars. That is one of the things I enjoy about the A Cappella groups is their continued experimentation with mixing genres. Whether it is VP Adding rap into Viking battle calls or HF switching up and using Reggae rhythms to a famous Johnny Cash song it all works even when convention tells you it won't. Fresh new takes on the expected. I love it!
I had to put on closed captioning and couldn’t read fast enough! I really have no idea how they can do it that fast and still be understandable. J’s diction is so good.
Rick Underwood and Renette Feren recreated the makeup looks from My Mother Told Me, and gave us a few Easter eggs: J's forehead and Eli's forearm both have the Norse rune for music, tónlist. while Geoff's forearm and Cesar's face both have runes spelling out VoicePlay. Some costuming was also reused: for example, Cesar is wearing the robe that Jose Rosario, Jr. wore in My Mother Told Me. This was not shot on green screen, but was shot, using Eli's Unreal Engine creations, in a volume studio, much like the one used for The Mandalorian. The Vu Studio's volume LED screen is 155 ft. long and 26 ft high, and the backgrounds track with the camera movements, making it really look like the characters are in a physical set. And kudos to the guys as they shot the whole thing in those heavy costumes, with no air conditioning, in Central Florida! Geoff held a B0 subharmonic for about 15 seconds under J's part at the beginning, and again, for about 12 seconds beneath the rap. And Eli was throwing B5s like they were nothing!! Wonderful!
Awesome reaction to an epic song and video. I have been listening to this almost constantly since they posted it on Patreon a couple weeks ago. Geoff's new video will be out on Friday. It is really really good. We get 5 Geoff's.
I've been listening to it, by itself, on repeat for hours and put it on every Voiceplay Spotify list except the Xmas one. I used to do that with Hoist The Colors, but now listen to it as I go to sleep. Didn't think anything could knock HTC out of my VP number one spot!
I think the arrangement was epic! You know it would be great when Layne sings, Eli with that rock voice! The strength in César's voice, Geoff with the low notes, and JNone with the rap!
Voice Play hit this out of the world. You will love it. Everyone pulled their Viking Besurker out. Cathy was to pick up JNone at the airport plane was 3 hours late. He had a wedding to go to afterwards.
If this song doesn't make you want to get up and fight people then what the heck?! This is such an amazing song and I listen to it when I lift. It's such a great pump up song
Thanks for getting to this already, it is amazing. Always love you watching Voiceplay videos. ❤❤❤ Hope you will get sooo many more followers, your reactions is so genius. ❤️❤️❤️🎼🎵🎶 🇩🇰

J NONE enters Valhalla mid stream. Valhalla is the Viking concept of heaven - sort of - attained only when a Viking dies in battle. AWESOME production
I love Viking Cesar! Usually he sings so sweet and gentle, love hearing him a little angry. I bet he's a berserker!
I knew he could act. I knew he could sing with different timbres, but somehow I still didn’t see this coming. I never thought I’d find sweet, funny Cesar (or J., for that matter) scary. I kept thinking if I saw any of these guys on the battlefield I’d run the other way.

That is amazing, they are really stepping up their game😱😁

J. None does a great job rapping in their cover Superstition.

I'd say that is a pretty decent rating😂😁

That Rap verse worked so well in the song too. I'm not generally a fan of the genre, but by all means, do more of that.
what? you’ve never heard a Viking rap before! 😂 ❤️🏴
Not really😂😅

Well, the red eye contacts added to the sinister vibe...

This is my new favorite. It's outstanding. So much goodness.
Voiceplay is one of my favorite groups to listen to thank you for the reaction 😄

I know right. I got sleep headphones just to listen to Voiceplay and Geoff while going to sleep.
I think the arrangement was epic! You know it would be great when Layne sings, Eli with that rock voice! The strength in César's voice, Geoff with the low notes, and JNone with the rap!
Absolute perfection!
Voice Play hit this out of the world.
You will love it.
Everyone pulled their Viking Besurker out.
Cathy was to pick up JNone at the airport plane was 3 hours late. He had a wedding to go to afterwards.
He didn't just have *a* wedding to go to, it was *his* wedding that weekend.
I thought the same about J. Didn't even know he could rap. They all killed it. Enjoyed your reaction!
Vikings used to have something called 'flyting' . Rapid duels of insults and teasing, preferably rhyming. Rapping is just the modern equivalent.
Oh wow that is very interesting thank you for sharing😁
Love angry Cesar, rock God Eli, spitting J, and the beats by Layne & Geoff. So good
Aweson reaction. The boys did good...real good! Everything was spot on...voices of course, backgrounds, arrangement and acting. Kudos!
If this song doesn't make you want to get up and fight people then what the heck?! This is such an amazing song and I listen to it when I lift. It's such a great pump up song
In their cover of Stevie Wonder's song Superstition.with Omar Cardona, J. None raps....think haunted house rap.......>^^
Powerful, beautiful, well done all the way around. Great review, Leiben!
Wow that was an abrupt ending 😅
Eli gets me everytime with that raspy voice but did you hear him he didn't even breath while j none rapped
I think he's mastered circular breathing...able to breathe in even as he's singing.
Pay attention to his breathing in Nothing Else Matters. He goes through a whole verse, finishes with a belt, on one breathe.
Thanks for getting to this already, it is amazing.
Always love you watching Voiceplay videos. ❤❤❤
Hope you will get sooo many more followers, your reactions is so genius. ❤️❤️❤️🎼🎵🎶

Thank you so much for the kind words🥰😁
Voiceplay can do everything! but they are perfect for Viking song! especially Geoff))))
If you really want you mind blown Layne raps too. I can't remember which song it was but he was great.
This is a great epic song. J None surprised you with the rap but he also raps in Superstition.
I think in Just Sing too?
@@Gael4ce He may have but it didn't register.
::waves:: Hi there! Thanks for listening to my nagging! 😜
J-NONE has rapped in a couple of voiceplay videos. I believe he rapped during ' Superstition '
I think I might have missed that one, or my memory is really terrible😅😁
@lieben-totenreacts8548 it was one you didn't react to they did it about 2 years ago.
Then I definitely need to go back and do that one soon😁
@@EchoesOfEmotionReact and if you go back about seven years, Layne wraps in their cover of I Knew you were tTrouble with Rachel Potter.
He did a bit of rapping in Friends On The Other Side and a *very* little bit in Just Sing, too.
Go back and check out their cover of Superstitious” by Stevie Wonder!
