  • It looks like the major cleaning is done. All the tree equipment that was on site, is gone. I drove up the rode to see if maybe they moved the equipment further east up the line. None of he equipment was anywhere to be found. I have heard from some people that Roseville tunnel is going to be closed. I have yet been able to confirm if that is true or not. There needs to be some kind of drainage system in place because every time it rains, there are huge puddles on the right of way. (Maybe the next step?) I am hoping that in the next few months maybe we will see some major progress.
If you haven't already, I suggest that you go watch parts 1-6 of this series. Stay tuned next week for another progress video of the Andover Station Lackawanna cut-off.

Your welcome. Next week we will be going back to the tunnel to see what progress has been made at the tunnel if anything.

By the time the Lackawanna Cutoff is completed, what will then become of the excursions at Steamtown?

Maybe they'll be able to go along the Lackawanna Cutoff?
Jokes aside, I don't really think that a Lackawanna Cutoff plan for Amtrak/NJT into Scranton will affect the Steamtown excursions that much. Sure there will be several intercity/commuter trains into Scranton for the first time in decades, and there will definitely be a lot of The Office fans arriving into Scranton by train rather than road, but I don't think the inclusion of Amtrak and/or NJT will affect Steamtown other than MAYBE the excursions will have another area to be able to go to.
