What makes these guys true strongmen isn’t the strength of their muscles, but the strength of their *character.* They are truly an inspiration for me and many others.
I'm from Poland, I've started watching You because You competed with Mateusz and I see whole strongman community is amazing. I need to visit Scotland, nature in Your country is beautiful same as people i see. Keep being awesome and crazy strong. To all people, You are not alone! You are unique being, and world needs You !
Talking about mental health is super important, especially from people within a position of public recognition in this day and age. Normalizing it, making it ok to not be ok, and its just a step of the journey. Thank you guys for speaking up, and being apart of a positive change in the strength community.
I love the way you put that. “Normalizing it, making it OK, to not be OK”. That’s a perfect way to put it. I’ve witnessed people with mental health issues blast others with mental health issues, from a place of insecurity and fear from their own issues. Society/some folks create an environment in which people fear getting help or being open about their mental health. The Stoltmans impact on the world is in its infancy and seeing things like this make me look forward to see where their path takes them.
I've had terrible thoughts in the past over choices I've made. I'm 34 now and recently my 21 year old brother said he no longer has a reason to live. Don't know what to say to him or what to do. Wish I could get him to try something like this.. Terrifies me that he may be gone soon. Crying watching this. Not easy to find cold in Florida this time of year but I think even a hug and a cold shower might help..? Everyone out there please be safe and don't take anyone for granted. Please be safe and stay alive everyone. At least as long as you are physically able! Just can't stop worrying and crying..
@@cajunrando2556 I've already done that and am all good now. I just know that there are MANY people who feel the way my brother does out there and it is an awful thing. "You can take a horse to water but you can't make them drink." I appreciate the fact that at least some people all over the world worry about others. Love the Stoltmans for putting this out there. :)
I lost my dad to mental health issues last year and it’s taken it’s toll. From man to man...from a son who lost his father...and from a suicide survivor myself...thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for doing this. Men need to be more open about their mental health. Women as well. Humans as a whole need to open up more and know that’s it IS okay to not be okay. Reach out to a friend, seek help, see a doctor. Get the help you need. Your future self will thank you❤️

Inspiration, honest..... from a true Scots man who's heart is for the community and others. This needs to be shared amongst the many suffering from mental health fatigue.
I’m 26 and absolutely love cold/wild swimming. It really does make you focus on the present moment and encourages a mind over matter mindset. I swim in the rivers and ocean - in fact, I was in the ocean this morning. I’d recommend it to anyone, the feeling afterwards is euphoric.
You guys have helped me more than you will ever know. I’m bipolar and have extreme anxiety. I have never tried the cold therapy but it’s going to happen. Getting a kiddie pool and lots of ice. The way you guys talk about mental health instead of hiding the issues is unreal the word needs more guys like you. Keep up what you are doing and good luck at work.
NHS Scotland should be advocating this instead of chucking addictive opioids at every mental health problem. Prescription opioids are a major contributor to addiction and overdose leading to drug related deaths.
I always finish my showers with cold water. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but it always makes me feel better physically and mentally. I never knew there was a science behind it. This video opened my eyes a bunch. Thanks for sharing this portion of your lives. Y'all are great humans!
Amazing guys, I love this. 22 veterans a day in the us commit suicide every day. I was almost there once, this really hit home for me. You both make this world a better place.

You do not need an icy Loch, a running cold shower or Bathtub full of cold water will do the trick. These days i force myself every single morning before work to take a Cold Shower and i find it works wonders.
The honesty of Tom Luke Harry Nile Wilson and many many others has and continues to help so many men as it’s still weak to be anxious and strong to get on with it and just get it done. But that’s all rubbish .. it’s about identity ... not duty... honesty ... not social pressure... your special and unique... not needing to do what everyone else expects. And choice. Thank you guys. This is a beautiful video. Ive struggled with mental health for years. This is definitely something I will try! 💜 Thank-you for being open about mental health and being willing to open up about your own struggles.
I've been wanting to get a cold tub for by back yard... I think I'll pass along this video to see if it helps my case. Been doing ocean plunges in the winter for a handful of years and it feels so amazing afterwards. This year, after workouts I'd go take a rest in the snow. The feeling is so much different than a hot tub. When I go in the hot tub I come out feeling dazed, tired and relaxed. When I come out of the cold I feel energized, refreshed and alive. Thank you for posting this, and for sharing those statistics. It goes to show that even in one of the most scenic and beautiful places in the world, there can be mental health issues affecting people.
I've been put back on medication for my anxiety and depression just this last week. I tried 3 times to kill myself 2 years ago when I lost my job, my partner and my mum died rough time just now but trying my best. This is amazing though more people need to do it.

That said, I hope you can find other positives in life to help you have the happiness your lost loved ones would want for you.

Nice video. Mental health is a topic that’s close to me. And i think getting out of your comfort zone is one of the most important things to do. It’s what helped me a lot. Maybe people aren’t made to be comfortable. Maybe we rather rediscover what humans are capable off. We forgot a lot about ourselves when everything had to be more comfortable and convenient. It’s a shame really. I think the topic of this video is more important than what a lot of people think.
I started taking hot / cold showers a couple of years ago for recovery from powerlifting at 53 yrs old. My depression has lessened, sleep is better and my body feels and is working much better.
Amazing guys and means so much . I hope this video reaches anyone effected by depression. Remember guys it’s ok not to be ok ,talk, someone out there will listen ❤️
As someone who has struggled with their mental health in the past few years due to deployments (Armed Forces), feeling alone when away from family and friends, relationship troubles, health issues, etc. seeing what you guys have overcome and what you've become is a massive fucking inspiration. You push all of us here not only physically but emotionally and mentally too, you've certainly kept me entertained, motivated and inspired, especially spiritually, the past 18 months and I know you will continue to do so, you pair have always got our support here too. My corps motto is 'Per Ardua - Through adversity' and I think you encompass that perfectly, thanks for everything you do boys, now go smash worlds and do us all even prouder.
I feel like it's so great for people in things like strength sports, where it's stereotypically thought of as a macho or tough guy thing, to bring light onto folks recognizing their own thoughts and feelings and sense of self. I've seen a lot of strongmen doing this sort of outreach lately, and it's really positive. Great job, fellas.
This really hit hard for me. I've followed you since the start but talking about mental health makes you all even more awsome. I've suffered with depression and anxiety since i was diagnosed when i was 19. I'm 43 now and long shot of the mental and physical torture I was receiving and got in to strength training and strongman. Still suffering with mental health but now I'm stronger and you guy's are such an inspiration!! Thank you so much 💪👍🏼👍🏼
This is exactly what i needed to see after a terrible night of anxiety and panic attacks. And the Scottish accent is so wonderfully soothing. Thank you for sharing this experience!
A powerful film that I'm sure a lot of people need to see right now to show them how easily you can seize back control of your life, even if only for a few minutes a day. Following the Stoltmans through the last year or so has helped me to deal with stress and anxiety and I love that they are happy to share their sensitive side despite the stereotype that comes with being strongmen. Keep doing what you are doing, it helps people more than you'd know. 💪💪💪
Wim Hof is the guy to talk about when it comes to the revelation of what ice can do for you mentally.basically its water.i say revelation because it is.Aquarius is the water bearer pouring water.knowledge.theres so much more to water than meets the eye... Community is massive aswell.we are losing this in everyday life in the way we live.people stuck in the house.children online communicating but not in person.we need to interact with people on a basic human level.community is communicating.this is why we are seeing higher levels of depression and anxiety in our youngsters!!!
In the last year my wife suffered a miscarriage, I was diagnosed with PTSD, I’ve lost a house, my job and then my dad in March to Covid. I’m also autistic so hate change too. It’s been very very hard, yes I’ve had some very dark thoughts and also full of anger. However, we have to stay strong, I know it’s easy to just give up but that’s a cowards way out. For anyone reading this and having these thoughts, give cold therapy a go, it works wonders for the gray matter and makes you see things with clarity. Most importantly, do not stop fighting, you’ll win eventually.
Tom i saw you the other week at Balintore beach in the water. It was around half 6 in the morning and really foggy. Seeing you emerge from those waves did something to me man. You are an incredible inspiration. Im doing a cold water dip in the averon river one morning before christmas. I cant tell you how much you have inspired me in this comment so i am writing you a letter. All the best mate and thank you
Thank you! Your guys are amazing. I’ve been doing cold water therapy since the start of 2021 and there isn’t really a word to describe what it does to you. You feel everything and nothing at the same time. It might just be one of the best things you can do. Please do try it but remember to stay safe, smile and stay spicy :)

It’s great to see technology making it possible for so many people to explore their talents in filming and editing, choice of music, to help others express their feelings and concerns for human well being
Fantastic video, guys! I've always thought that a lot of mental health problems are related to the brain deliberately trying to work against it's own interests, in the absence of challenge. When we present our bodies with something to fight, something that scares us, something to overcome, then, we can draw upon those challenges and fuel our minds to avoid the downward spiral into despair. Depression left me once I started to appreciate every problem I've overcome in my life, and the man I turned into as a result of them. Knowing I'm trying to be a positive influence on other people makes me feel better too. Luke said it best, "We're not doing our jobs as a human race ... we're letting people take their own lives".
Oops what Scotland needs is you two giants. You guys are great !!!! Such good people. And they could use a good dose of me. Love making people happy. Live my life to the fullest. If I can help anyone, I will. You only live once.
This is so important for mental health awareness for people to see that even the strongest men in the world have their struggles. Fucking brilliant guys 🙏

You don't know this Tom and Luke, but you've been a positive impact in my life a world away. I lift and do ice baths regularly now. Both helps mentally and physically. Cheers.
Words can not describe how much I love and appreciate both of you Stoltmans. You continued dedication to being a good person and leading by example, to show others that a positive vibe is important. this is orchestrated brilliantly, the passion by luke especially just speaks bounds about him as a person. Really believe and agree what us said aswell 👏
Always impressed with the messages you guys send out. Such a positive thing you are doing. You could just do strongman videos but choose to show another side of yourselves that some men are ashamed to show. You have given me the nudge I needed to start my own cold therapy and don’t regret it for a second. Keep up the good work gents and good luck at worlds. God bless.
The video was incredible and cold water therapy is something I need to try. The Stoltmans make me proud of my Scottish heritage on my father’s side, but beyond that I have hope for the future of the planet when I see leaders that are positive and genuinely want to help others. As a side note, the comment section might be the most positive UA-cam comment section.
When I first tried this I was instantly hooked. It was at a spa and it was the only thing I wanted to do... get back into that cold water. The way my mind and body connect as I choose to go in, choose to relax my muscles and keep my breathing steady, and choose to be calm is indescribable. The physical and mental states become reciprocal. It calms the storm in the mind. It brings the present moment into sharp focus, and gives me a new sense of perspective.
Fully believe This video is meant for me, started the wim hof method about 4 days ago for my mental health and been listening to his podcasts. This is crazy that this collab is here right now Stoltman’s we’ll be at your gym soon boys

Thank you so much 💪👍🏼👍🏼
I wish I could meet and have a conversation with the stoltman brothers, due to my own personal demons
Two of my favorite athletes you lads are an inspiration, ice in your veins but fire in your hearts
When Luke said “We arent doing our jobs right is the thing”, really hit me, this right here, people need to listen to this ASAP.
Thank you guys. Just, thank you. Much love my Scottish brothers.
I really do appreciate you guys. Always so humble and caring, and you both seem like genuinely good people. I will always root for you guys.

Beautiful video, wow. Thank you for sharing this. I have had a rough few years, i won't go into detail but many of the negative things have been in my mind. I spoke to a therapist and my life has got easier. Im not fully recovered but im recovering and working on myself every day. My wife is my rock and got me the help i needed. Thank you to everyone in this video and who was apart of the video. No longer should we hide from Mental illness. It really helps when people like yourselves speak out.
Freezes the ego shuts it up then after you feel hotter than the sun inside thank you Wim hof
Can't like this video enough... ❤ have no words to even start... but it certainly has gave me a different light & view on alot of things 🤜🏼🤛🏼❤ by far 1 of the best and most touching & inspiring vids yet 💪🏼👍🏼🏴🌶
Luke said it best,
"We're not doing our jobs as a human race ... we're letting people take their own lives".
Oops what Scotland needs is you two giants. You guys are great !!!! Such good people. And they could use a good dose of me. Love making people happy. Live my life to the fullest. If I can help anyone, I will. You only live once.
The place you guys live is so beautiful 👌 perfekt place for walks and cold water!! And gym of course 💪💪😎
Frickin’ love you two! Will you be watching The Lions in South Africa? 🏉 🏴 🏴
This is so important for mental health awareness for people to see that even the strongest men in the world have their struggles. Fucking brilliant guys 🙏
This is probably one of the best videos ive watched!! Can’t say why but will say thank u lads!
Talking about mental health is stronger than anything in the world, I lost 2 mates through it and not talking, amazing work Luke and Tom stoltman, keep it up 👍🏻💪🏻
More than just Strongmen, that's why we ❤️ The Stoltmans 💪🏴
You don't know this Tom and Luke, but you've been a positive impact in my life a world away. I lift and do ice baths regularly now. Both helps mentally and physically. Cheers.
You guys have the best intro. Gets me pumped
Words can not describe how much I love and appreciate both of you Stoltmans. You continued dedication to being a good person and leading by example, to show others that a positive vibe is important. Your continued push back against the depression stigma and offering ways to help benefit others is just amazing. I have loved you guys since the day I discovered your videos. Please keep doing what you are doing, it truely is a healing gesture for those struggle silently. I hope to meet you in person one day. Much love and God Bless the entire Stoltman family. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I live in Florida , I guess I would have to buy a deep freezer to have this experience . Sounds like a plan .👍🏻
Thank you Luke!
Absolute inspiration, thank you guys 💪

Very inspiring! Your mum would so unbelievably proud her lads ❤ this video has gave me a kick to do cold water properly and not just in the shower
Great film guys . A work friend for 15 years took his on life just five days ago . He had split from his partner and was struggling no one really new how much he decided to jump from a bridge onto a motorway ,mental health is such an important thing so anyone suffering please talk to someone and find help ,keep up the great content guys thanks again
I think taking your shirt off and walking in the snow with sandals is a challenge by itself and will have most of us in the hospital or sick.
this is orchestrated brilliantly, the passion by luke especially just speaks bounds about him as a person. Really believe and agree what us said aswell 👏
Top class 👏👌👍 I've been saying I'm gonna do it for ages makes me finally want 2 go and do it
Always impressed with the messages you guys send out.
This is crazy that this collab is here right now
Stoltman’s we’ll be at your gym soon boys
