Gorgeous Monastery in Germany and Kids Chasing Chickens

What is the deal with kids carrying chickens in Germany? Or maybe it’s just a Bavarian thing? Every time I turn around I see a boy carrying a chicken. Now my boys are all into carrying a chicken….I mean they’ll even get envious if they see another boy with a chicken and be like, “hey where did he get that chicken?”
It happened often that we would be walking through some beautiful village or next to a church from the 13th or 14th century and the next thing I would know my boys would be chasing chickens.
Usually, I’d be laughing too hard to even think about videoing but I finally captured one such event on video.
I can never stop laughing. Is it just me? I find this chasing of the chickens hilarious!! I always keep waiting for some funniest home video moment but apparently, my boys are just good chicken herders. I want to seriously buy chickens and more land so I can free my kids with chickens back in Dallas, TX and say…..” go outside and chase chickens so I can clean the house….” Also, the monastery that we were beside is absolutely gorgeous/marvelous!!!! As was the small fortress wall and village to get to the monastery.
