I kinda look at it like if I weren't lazy I wouldn't need to watch cleaning/organizing videos to motivate me LOL
I totally try to be productive when a commercial is on ... folding towels, do dishes, throw a load of laundry, cook lunch for work tomorrow, write my bills etc!

Your trash bag idea reminded me of my mom. When we were young she would grab a trash bag and come to our rooms, if it was on the floor it was considered “trash” and in it went. We learned not to leave things on the floor that we really wanted to keep and to pick up after ourselves.

Lol. My mom did the same and now i do the same with my kids. Its amazing how quickly they can get things off of the floor.☺
I must admit the headline lured me in🤪. I’m not necessarily lazy but have health issues that prevents me from doing my cleaning like I use to...so I do a lil bit, then sit a bit. So I love your tips esp cleaning while talking with girlfriend and living with less (I’m trying to live minimally)!! Thanks for the encouragement💕

Robot vac's are fantastic! (Don't think you have to break the bank to buy the most famous brand, either. There's lots of competition these days & Amazon has a number of them with 4+ star customer ratings.) My old BoB brand one died after many years of service &, with pets in the house, I couldn't keep up without one. I ended up buying 2 programmable WiFi robo's with heppa filters that can also do low pile rugs for less than $140 each from Amazon. Why 2? Because I work from home every day & have "Rosie" set to tidy up the back of the house while I'm working & "Hazel" takes care of the front during the night. (Anyone here old enough to get those housekeeper references? 😊) My floors look great!

I like Tip 4, seeing cleaning as therapeutic. I always feel so good after I clean the kitchen or bathroom.
Talking to my friend girl is my time and best way to clean my closet...I can get a lot completed when it's A POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE conversations!!!!

Like your “work during a commercial” tip... I LOVE to set a timer for 5 or 10 min....as it makes me FLY through the chore(s) at record speed.

I remember watching a movie (Mildred Pierce) and the owner of the restaurant said, "Never waste a trip", and you reminded me of that! :) I also like to think that I'm filling my home with love as I clean, love for my family, friends, and myself, and especially God. Thanks for your video, I do most of these things, but did pick up some tips....like the timer, I’ve never done that. I do productive things while I’m waiting for other tasks. Example: while my keurig is making coffee, I’ll go put dishes in the dishwasher...I call it doing double duty. :). The biggest motivator for me is definitely watching hoarders.....talk about making me want to declutter, that’ll do it every time!!!!

Ooh Nikki, this one was really needed! I’m one of those lazy people and really need motivation to get up and clean! The struggle is real!! I love a nice clean home but struggle keeping mine clean. I have 2 boys ages 11 and 18. They don’t clean well so it all ends up on me and I just can’t do it sometimes! I found that I can get going and clean plenty when I take an energy drink. These tips were awesome. Thanks for sharing!

These are all excellent tips! We went to a no-shoe policy when my daughter started crawling and still do it because it makes a huge difference. Now she’s old enough to pick up after herself so that helps keep things neat.

Good tips! We keep a Goodwill box in the garage... Keeps us mindful of letting go of gently used items, or to give away items that have been replaced by newer versions.

Great content/tips!! I love using the zone system in my home. With two small children involved in online learning, running a business and trying to stay on top of all things social media, it helps to incorporate cleaning specific areas on specific days, rather than tackling the whole house all at once...to help decrease the madness 😜 I also found that using a timer helps the little people focus on cleaning their areas. I like to make it a "race to see who can do more in 15 minutes" to make it fun and effective. 😉
So funny. I've been watching the Hoarding show for years. I once told my Granddaughter that I watch it because I feel like I'm "this close" to being those people. I still have too much stuff - especially papers. Just "refreshed" my desk but my husband saved boxes from everything, old phones, 3 inch disks that I can't even find out what's on them, but so hard to part with things since he passed away. I've tried many of your tips, but have to focus on being consistent. I love having you back every day and I'm even watching your Pet channel now that I have a crazy dog.

For me it’s my energy level that’s keeping me from wanting to clean, but that links back to being way too busy, and a lack of good sleep (menopause 😩).
Wonderful tips! This has really motivated me to maintain my home clean and clear. I especially liked the impact we can make on cleaning large surfaces and finding inspiration to keep going.

I have a hectic schedule. It has slowed some but I learned a lot when my house was literally in chaos. The guilt and shame was at all time high. My mother and grandmother kept clean homes. I felt less than. But when your time is erratic and hectic...I see a messy house is what happens. Prioritize. And sleep and health were number one. Do the tips Nikki said.. do the areas most important. I kept bathroom clean. Kitchen...well let's say a dishwasher is a godsend! When you can clean do the " one or two" things. Music is a huge motivator for me. It helped me actually finish cleaning. Invite people over. That will make you clean like no other! LOL 🤣

I am so thankful for you! You are an inspiration and a fantastic motivator; no amount of Hoarders episodes can get me motivated like one of your short videos.
I found some gems in these tips, but the tip about walking around the home with a trash bag was an eye-opener. I mean, I’m a minimalist by nature, I keep a bowl on the counter for food scraps while I’m cooking, but I never thought to “shop your home for trash” (as you put it). I have three young kids at home and if I had a penny for every piece of trash I collected... well, you know where I’m going with this. This tip was just brilliant!
The first tip just isn’t me. I’m a leave-the-best-for-last type of person so I always tend to tackle the hardest spaces first, or the chores I dislike the most. That gets them out of the way for me so I can move on to more pleasant things.
One of my struggles is being efficient. I have been intentional lately about working on it, but I can tell that this one will take a looooong time to become a habit. You mentioning it makes me want to work at it even harder!
