  • Full interview with Catherine Cullen, the Reform UK candidate.
With Prime Minister Sunak calling the General Election for 4 July, High Peak TV decided it was important to be able to see and hear from the candidates standing for High Peak themselves.
We wrote a set of questions designed to find out about the backgrounds and experiences of the individual candidates so the voters of High Peak can get the benefit of getting to know the views and ideas of the people standing to represent us in parliament for the next few years or so.
High Peak TV believe it is critical that the voters in High Peak be as informed as possible about their options when it comes to making that big decision next month.
We interviewed all four candidates standing for High Peak in the order that follows:
Joanna Collins (Green Party) - watch full interview: • High Peak TV General E...
Catherine Cullen (Reform UK) - watch full interview: • High Peak TV General E...
Robert Largan (Conservative) - watch full interview: • High Peak TV General E...
Jon Pearce (Labour) - watch full interview: • High Peak TV General E...
    * Peter Hirst (Liberal Democrats) - watch full interview: • High Peak TV General E...
We asked all the candidates the same set of questions, and because we're not in the business of "catching people out" we shared the questions with the candidates before filming to give them an opportunity to consider their answers.
We have edited them together so each question is asked, then answered by the candidates in turn.
We then subtitled the video in full by ear. Very occasionally we have had to guess at a word here and there, but we did the best we could and believe we haven't omitted or added anything to what was said.
*Since we published the candidates video the Liberal Democrats have entered the race, by entering a candidate of their own, Dr Peter Hirst:
    • High Peak TV General E...
For transparency, we have also published the individual interviews in full (see above) so you can check we have been fair and honest in our approach to this film.
To be clear, High Peak TV is not affiliated with any political party, we have not been paid by any political party to produce this film, and the opinions expressed in this video are those of the individuals expressing them.
We would like to thank the candidates for taking the time to talk to us and braving the changeable weather in Norfolk Square. We had to move indoors halfway through talking to Catherine Cullen because of rain, and we filmed Jon Pearce inside because he chose to talk to us even though he was suffering with cold symptoms.
We hope you find this film useful, and that when you come to cast your vote you can do so knowing you are as informed as possible.
Please share this video with friends and family so other voters can watch it too.

We have the same problems with housing, run down areas, community spaces, infrastructure issues, and council buying/selling off our historic places. Buxton.

Yes we definitely need a mental health centre and one for nerodiverse people or Autism centre. One other major issue is the hospitals being wasted and clogging up stepping hill or Macclesfield, which of both, we can't get to in the winter.
Roads need resurfacing, vpuncils need to use their money much more wisely! And ask the people what they want/need for their town!
