Are you sure that’s something to eat? Looks like they belong in a dishwasher 🤣 Cool haul, especially the signed book by Wes Craven, I bet that might be worth something. … Whenever I watch one of your videos, it reminds me to read more Scalzi … I loved the first OLD MANS WAR when I read it years ago, but I didn’t continue. But I have REDSHIRTS waiting on my shelf, because Star Trek, of course … And I am also curious about THE DEAD TAKE THE A TRAIN. It’s co-written by Richard Kadrey, well known for his Sandman Slim series. That’s also a book series that I read years ago and never continued, but it was great. Very cool ideas, lots of action and hilariously funny. It’s like a more hardboiled version of the Dresden Files. Maybe you should check them out too (but I assume you already have).
I have actually never tried the Dresden files. I think I have a couple around. The cover of A train totally suckered me in so I had to grab it. Yeah the candy was just wrong haha it probably could clean some dishes off! Im not sure the value of the craven signature. I’ve heard mixed reviews on redshirts and it’s usually either love or hate but I think the hate comes from people just not having a sense of humor. The second old man’s war was good but different. The third and fourth are more like the first one but just not up there with it.
@@thevintageviking4752 I want to read some Dresden Files this years, and I bought a bunch of them for cheap, in English. Maybe we can do a read-along, but give me a headstart of about 10 books or so 🤣
Great Haul. Loved The Narnia series as a child. Apparently Maeve Fly is compared to American Psycho except with a female killer. Black Mouth is a high priority read for this year. I am interested to hear your thoughts. That Carrie hardcover is gorgeous! The Fountain Society cover is so awesome. Adding fun bonus material is a cool idea. 😆
Thanks! I was thinking of rereading the narnia series since I haven’t read it since I was a kid. Maeve fly should be good then! I actually finished black mouth already and it was a good read. Thanks!!
wayward pines is one i cant wait to get to as i really like blake crouch. Hide is one where i love the idea and thought about picking up, there is even a graphic novel version wish looks neat.
I actually finished black mouth already! It was really good. In a weird way it reminded me of nos4a2 or maybe it’s cause I just recently read that as well.
Just curious: Do you consider the Alien and Predator movies SciFi/Horror? What about The Blob, or The Thing, or Invasion of the Body Snatchers, or War of the Worlds, or …? Where do you draw the line? The Tommyknockers? The Mist? Dreamcatcher? Just curious. 😺✌️
I think movies like alien and the thing and several others are great example of sci-fi horror. Those are some of my favorite movies. Event horizon is another that comes to mind. Stephen king has a good blend at times as well. I’m not sure there’s a solid line because there are so many variables. Great question! What do you think about it?
@@thevintageviking4752 I think the line varies and different people find it in different places. That’s also why I struggle with Booktubers who define the line or whether a book is good or not. All books are written, just not for all of us. Even something I think is total shit will appeal to its own audience, while some Booktube darlings have left me (to paraphrase you 😃) wondering why? I appreciate your content and honest opinions. Thanks for keeping Booktube interesting. 😸✌️
I wonder why some books and series get over hyped on book tube. Murder Bot isn't a winner for me either. Rothfus is high fantasy, very purple pros. I wish I could get the hours back that I spent listening and hoping something cool happens. I would skip Name of Wind series. Now, Dungeon Crawler Carl deserves every bit of hype it gets. The Sound Booth Theatre versions are so good. If you start and think it's too silly just stick with it at least through book 2. I can't recommend the series enough. Im a little obsessed. I would have never guessed I would like LitRPG.
Thanks for letting me know about name of the wind for sure. I’ll have to skip it! The sound booth theater sounds interesting I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. I think books just get praised by some of the bigger booktube channels and then everyone jumps on board and praises them as well. Then the overhype goes out of control. If murder bot wasn’t hyped up and I went in with no expectations I maybe would’ve enjoyed it more. Thanks for watching!!
Omg Wayward Pines! I really enjoyed those 3 books! I loved the Wayward Pines tv series so much too, I was sad when it ended.
I watched a little bit of the series but I never finished it. I’ll have to go watch again after I read the books! I’m glad you enjoyed them!
I love Ronald Malfi, just finished Snow ❄️
That one looked great!! Malfi is really enjoyable!!
Great haul Ryan. I had that Gauntlet 2 back in the day when I was dealing signed limited books, I had a hard time selling it.
Thanks! Yeah I’m sure that kinda stuff needs the right buyer.
@@thevintageviking4752Actually it sold easily but I didn't want to part with it, haha.

I actually haven’t got to anything Blake crouch yet so I’m looking forward to it as well.
Black mouth is so good! I think you'll really like it! I'm so jealous of the signed King Gauntlet 2! But I'm happy for you! 😬🤓✌️📚

this was such a great haul. You found so many great books.

@Unpotted agreed! Thanks!
Malfi's Black Mouth is really good.
Agreed I’ve read it since this video and really enjoyed it!!
station eleven is one of those overhyped booktube books you were talking about, but in this case its actually very good!
Oh great to hear! I’ve definitely seen the cover on many videos!! I’ll have to give it a try. Thank you!!
